Remember the "Marine and the Puppy" Story?
news.com.au — "The story comes to and end as he is kicked out of the corps. Maybe the same treatment can be extended to Marines who kill humans. Nah... who am I kidding." Manuel Lora @ LRC Blog

- lodibug3, on 06/12/2008, -3/+5Throwing a puppy off the cliff... we are astonished??? This young man has done exactly what his leadership has taught him to do... These men have been shown hard core pornography before they go into battle... so what he's done to the puppy, was nothing to him... He's been desensitized. How about getting back to singing hymns and Psalms and having the Lord behind them?
- alapoet, on 06/12/2008, -0/+81) Killing puppies -- and people -- is bad.
2) "Hard core pornography" has exactly NOTHING to do with it. A culture of desensitization to violence has everything to do with it. In our culture, you can show someone being shot, knifed, beaten and killed on TV. But heaven forbid you should show an uncovered breast or a loving sex act. THAT's the problem, "Lord" or no "Lord."
Stay on point if you want anyone to take you seriously.- lodibug3, on 06/12/2008, -2/+4I was on point. Hard Core porn Insites Violence...not an uncovered breast or a loving sex act.
- nabziF, on 06/13/2008, -0/+3Funny, I've seen more than my share of hard core, but for some reason I don't get off on chucking puppies over mother ***** cliffs...or any other non-consensual violence for that matter.
Maybe there's something wrong with me?

- lodibug3, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I am not asking if you care about the right or wrong of it. Though I do believe that ALL people know sin and guilt in violation of God’s Law presuppositionally (inside the so-called “subconscious” world of the mind – Romans 2: 14-15), that is NOT my point. My point is this: Even if you do not care about the “right or wrong” of porn, most others do.
Porn is destructive. It has a destructive history, being linked by professionals in many fields, with abuse, divorce, violence, even murder, rape. It is demeaning in its misuse of women in particular (though, too, men). The current divorce rate in the United States has a serious and “hardening” contributing factor in the existence and easy access to pornography.

- stienster, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4Way To Go Marine Corp!!!
- rehwaldt, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4This should hit the front page. I think he deserves more of a punishment, but I suppose the humiliation and the fact that he is being discharged should be enough. Without the internet and the Digg community this never would have happened.
- ZZeke, on 06/12/2008, -0/+4You're giving digg too much credit
- nabziF, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Maybe, but certainly without having been released on the internet, this incident would have never seen the light of day outside of the gang present at the time.
Sure did get a lot of diggs though!- ZZeke, on 06/14/2008, -0/+1agreed!

- lastnymleft, on 06/13/2008, -0/+3Unfortunately, this guy getting kicked out of the Marines just means that he's going to be appearing on OUR streets, somewhere, as a cop, or some other L.E.O. You think this behavior was a one-off? Expect to see one of those in-car police videos on youtube of him assaulting some US citizen, soon. Or worse.
- MarkEarhart, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1We need to extend the same policy to those who kill humans throughout not only our entire military, but to those in the White House and Pentagon (and let's not leave out those in Congress who give them the money to do so,) and those guilty of war crimes and treason, which covers pretty much the entire bunch in DC and all Federal Law enforcement, and punish them in the time honored manner. For any who aren't familiar with the process see footage of the execution of Saddam Hussein or those convicted at Nuremberg.
- CoolHandLuke70, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Someone might throw HIM off a cliff!
- Arcueid01, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Yeah that is so hardcore that he got kicked out. I am so happy to hear about this because this guy is garbage. I can't believe he did that and he represents our country.
- Aidje, on 06/15/2008, -0/+1I had so thought that video was fake.
