Reagan's Asst. Def.Secretary Says Let Gays Serve in Army
pinke.biz — Ronald Reagan's Assistant Secretary of Defense told Congress that "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was hurting America's armed forces. He recommended openly gay men and women be allowed to serve in light of the country's desperate need for troops, and lambasted the armed forces for using precious resources to discharge gay soldiers.

- mavicyp, on 04/18/2008, -2/+7I can't imagine many high level armed forces officials are still "No gays! We've got so many straight people lining up to go to Iraq we don't need 'em." Why would they bother spending money kicking out well-trained soldiers when they can't get enough people to sign up?
- Bukowsky, on 04/18/2008, -1/+6Being gay shouldn't make a difference in whether or not they serve our country. It's a damn shame that the leaders of this country are so squeamish about gays in the military.
- avengingturnip, on 04/18/2008, -3/+2Let's create entirely gay units. We can call them Brigaydes and make them the first in shock troops. If they don't frighten the enemy with their leather and make-up they can kick, scratch, curse and sodomize their way to victory. Just saying...
- Stevanoski, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2They are already in the services, if you never served you may not know this, the only thing they can't do is march in parades in their uniforms. Big deal.
- siszam, on 04/19/2008, -6/+1Let them be front line so they can protect those who will have families and contribute to society.
