So, where does the "World News" part come in?
Buried as wrong topic.- ganjadude4391, on 10/11/2007, -7/+14The real scary part is that before the net, these things would happen and no one would ever hear about them. Hopefully this will bring in some accountability, Inform the media of this injustice lets get it on the major networks.

Contact the big guns - doctorfungi, on 10/11/2007, -6/+7The actual arrest my have been a bit much, but please, let's not *****. The kid wasn't arrested for asking a question, he was arrested for being a nuisance. The group he is affiliated with is now infamous for gate-crashing reporting events, trespassing, and acting like immature punks whilst doing it. If he can't ask the questions in a respectable manner, he shouldn't be treated in a respectable manner.
I know at first this may seem very unfair, but you only have to look at the way that these kids behave to see why they are considered a threat to security.
Now go ahead, Digg me down for being rational and presenting my argument without resorting to multiple question marks or capital letters on every letter of my commen. Also, don't forget to Digg me down for not using words of angst based on a topic I know absolutely nothing about. - PatNolan, on 10/11/2007, -8/+4Buried for inaccuracy -- calling that schmuck a reporter is akin to calling a guy fighting a speeding ticket a lawyer.
- halleyscomet, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6@doctorfungi
You're missing the real point.
Yes, the reporter was an ass, and yes, the police could probably have justified throwing him out for his behavior.
But the arrest and the threat of espionage charges are WAY over the line. Those deserve to be addressed, and the cops behind the arrest need to answer for their abuse of power. - neiltc13, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1It's not "World News" as it doesn't have any impact on anyone outside the US, hell not even anyone inside the US who isn't a politician.

Why does DIGG HIRE SPOOKS for board clean-up???
DIGG is TAINTED!!!!- Herkimer56, on 10/11/2007, -11/+12The stories are all crap. Diggers bury them. Welcome to Digg Democracy.
- theblueprint, on 10/11/2007, -6/+3"Why does DIGG HIRE SPOOKS for board clean-up???"
Seriously? All this time, I've been burying "truthers" for spamming inaccurate/lame/duplicate articles for free.
Now I'm not a "SPOOK", but I am allergic to Alex Jones *****. Since you know so much about this, do you think you could hook me up with one of those positions? It would be a lot more fun than my current job. - Herkimer56, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3No kidding. I could work at home instead of making a 50 minute commute twice a day. Not only would it be more fun but I'd also save a fortune on gas.
- FANATIK, on 10/11/2007, -5/+18A credentialed reporter arrested for asking a serious question. AND he was threatened with an espionage charge? These politico criminals are so used to the lap-dog press that they freak-out when confronted by hard questions.
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -15/+9The more accurate version is that a moron truther gets invited to a private gathering, starts shouting nonsensical questions, gets asked to leave, and, when he refuses, gets arrested for trespassing.
- Groovemaster, on 10/11/2007, -11/+13You subscribe to the Official Bush-Endorsed Conspiracy Theory. Therefore, you believe that 1300 foot tall buildings made of steel and concrete can collapse into fine dust within 13 seconds (an average of 100 feet per second) without the use of demolition explosives.
You're obviously comfortable with insults, so I'm sure you'll be comfortable realizing that YOU are the moron. - Herkimer56, on 10/11/2007, -13/+8@groovemaster
And you are incapable of understanding even the most basic concepts of mathematics, physics and metallurgy or you wouldn't be spreading truther disinformation all over Digg. Try spreading it on your lawn instead, it will make your roses grow. - Groovemaster, on 10/11/2007, -8/+10You're still here, Herkimer?
Your credibility was shot long ago, but keep up the hard work. I'm sure there are still enough simpleminded people out there who are still uninformed and ignorant enough to make your efforts worthwhile.
As your handler George W Bush once said, "You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on." - EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10@Junky, you're missing the point. He was credentialed and he was arrested for asking an obnoxious question. Today, it's a truther. Tomorrow, it's some other reporter asking why official X used federal funds to pay for his yacht. To a crooked politician, any question could be considered equally obnoxious and dangerous.
The appropriate response from the Giuliani camp was "buzz off, we're not answering your questions." He can walk away. He can't have someone arrested unless there's an actual violation of law.
The principles involved are too important to allow this to happen just because you disagree with the questioner. - Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -9/+3No, he WASN'T arrested for asking a question. He was arrested because he made such an ass of himself that the people organizing this private event had cops ask him to leave, and when he refused he was arrested for THAT.
Also "accredited reporter" means you're a reporter. That's it. It's not a magical +6 shield of doing whatever you want wherever you want. - FyreGoddess, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"It's not a magical +6 shield of doing whatever you want wherever you want."
No, but if it was, I would totally be a reporter. I think there would be a whole lot more reporters out there - just for the loot. Heh. - EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4"Also "accredited reporter" means you're a reporter. That's it. It's not a magical +6 shield of doing whatever you want wherever you want."
Actually, I'd used the term credentialed, which isn't a magic shield either, but it allows one to be in the press area and ask questions. He could therefore not be reasonably accused of trespassing. Also, questions are just words. They can't hurt anyone. And you can't break the law by asking a question, no matter how obnoxious. The recipient can always just walk away or refuse to answer. These are adults.
You don't seem to get it. If the so-called reporter was an ass, that's what he'll be known for. He may not get credentialed next time. But once he is credentialed for attending an event, short of him committing an actual crime (assault, etc..), he can't simply be removed because someone doesn't like the questions, and you really shouldn't be making the judgment of whether you support him based on the specifics of the questioner, because you misunderstand the real issues when you do that.
This is more important than PrisonPlanet or even the charges this guy was demanding answers to. We simply can't have politicians deciding what is and isn't an appropriate question and throwing reporters out when they disagree.

NEW: EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW of videotape of Hillary Clinton speaker phone call to Peter Paul (and others including Spider Man creator Stan Lee) that records Hillary as she violates one felony statute of the Federal Election Law and admits to violating another. This tape was withheld by the Government from 2001 until it was released to Paul's attorneys at the US Justice Foundation on April 11, 2007. The tape was made by Paul in his office on July 17, 2000, three days after Bill Clinton agreed to work for Paul as a rainmaker after he left the White House, if Paul would underwrite and produce the largest fundraising event for Hillary's Senate campaign.

- gravedi99er, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7Fascism in America....does it really surprise anyone? We've tried to warn you. We've called for a more thorough 911 investigation, but you ostriches put your head in the ground and skwak, "conspiracy theory, conspiracy theory, skwak, he's challenging my mind, must resort to personal insults because I have no information to back up his claims."
So now the police arrest those who question the official story. This wasnt the first time, and it won't be the last. Pray for America, as all empires fall and I fear that ours will soon dwindle away into a full blow dictatorship where even posting on Digg anything non conformist will be illegal. - Anti2008, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Asking a question gets you Thrown in jail.... sad just plain sad.
