- Browzer, on 01/24/2008, -43/+5Me too. October 2, I'll be there! Fear me and my masses, Scientology!
PS: I am not a fag.- jacko7, on 01/24/2008, -1/+40If you go on October 2nd, you won't have any masses. February 2nd, however...
- LordFuxxles, on 01/24/2008, -0/+3910/02/08 in British calenders is February 10th.
- Audacitor, on 01/24/2008, -0/+18@LordFuxxies: How about we raid them on all three dates?
- heypetray, on 01/24/2008, -0/+3Dugg because I caught the sarcasm...
Right?
- jacko7, on 01/24/2008, -1/+40If you go on October 2nd, you won't have any masses. February 2nd, however...
- Hoov, on 01/24/2008, -53/+2Ok guys let me know how this goes in ... 9 months.
- Grimdotdotdot, on 01/24/2008, -4/+39It's in London, idiot.
Our dates are done differently.- Murdats, on 01/24/2008, -5/+41yeah, they are done properly
- skankyBacon, on 01/24/2008, -11/+6Do you have an actual, objective reason why DD/MM/YYYY is better than MM/DD/YYYY, or is it just "proper" because it's how you do it?
- babar77, on 01/24/2008, -2/+16DD/MM/YYYY sorts better in filenames - etc. . It's listed in incrementing units. Kinda like the metric system - it makes sense. I'm an American wishing the US would finally start using units that are easier.
- Smills, on 01/24/2008, -0/+19To be fair it does sort of make more sense... Small, bigger, biggest as opposed to bigger, small, biggest...
- screensnot, on 01/24/2008, -0/+12@skanybacon
DD/MM/YYYY shows some order, with days being shortest and years longest.
MM/DD/YYYY seems to be random order, except that it matches the way most people (I know) would speak it. For example, February tenth, two-thousand eight. Of course, some do say, the tenth of February, two-thousand eight.
YYYY/MM/DD would be the most logical to me. It's the format I use when I put the date in the name of a computer file. For example, Data20080210 would be my data collected on Feb 10, 2008. I do this so my files end up in chronological order.
I worked for an American branch of a German company. You often needed to know who wrote the date before you were sure of what date they actually were talking about. It was best just to not use numbers for the month at all. - heypetray, on 01/24/2008, -2/+1At work, I got by MM/DD. It makes more sense that way because it's in chrono order. If you did it DD/MM You would have all files for the firsts together, then the seconds together... If looking for a file that you saved in March, you'd have to either remember the correct day you saved it, or go to 03/XX..
Maybe it's just me. - LeeSoong, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1You fools!
The Mayans will rule over you all come 13.0.0.0.0 !

- lukak, on 01/24/2008, -0/+11same as australia ;)
- buddyfarr, on 01/24/2008, -11/+1is that how the date is done in Italy? just wondering since the whole calendar is setup from the Roman calendar, (If I recollect correctly), then the only proper way would be the way that the romans did it originally. just because it is done that way in london does not mean it is the proper way.
- BattleScars, on 01/24/2008, -2/+16I don't give ***** how the Romans did it, it's DD/MM/YYYY.
- Grimdotdotdot, on 01/24/2008, -0/+8It is the proper way *when you are in London*.
- moskaudancer, on 01/24/2008, -1/+6It makes more sense to order the dates from smallest graduation to largest (DD/MM/YY). I hate the way we do it in my country.
- Murdats, on 01/24/2008, -5/+41yeah, they are done properly
- Grimdotdotdot, on 01/24/2008, -4/+39It's in London, idiot.

- jihadjohnson, on 01/24/2008, -4/+170Wish i could be there!
- whiterice0, on 01/24/2008, -20/+1Why do any of you care about Scientology? What someone does with their own lives is their own business. It's none of yours. Do you really believe some lame online crusade is going to affect their wacked-out religion. The fact that people have joined this organization is proof positive that they don't care what normal people think.
- Audacitor, on 01/24/2008, -0/+17These people don't just do things with their own lives. Their cult hurts and even destroys other people's lives. And this 'lame crusade' has already inundated and crashed most of their servers, while at the same time extracting 'secret' files to spread around the Internet. Such a storm as this will no doubt warrant attention from the mainstream, further exposing this dangerous cult to the public, and helping to ensure that people know to avoid them.
- mattus, on 01/24/2008, -0/+14All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.
- mrbroli, on 01/24/2008, -0/+3Ah, the great wisdom of Alucard from SOTN...

- bosssmiley, on 01/24/2008, -2/+16True. Otherwise it never happened.
- Audacitor, on 01/24/2008, -0/+18Please, anon is mostly comprised of web/tech savvy people. There'll be enough coverage to hide an elephant in the desert.
- bosssmiley, on 01/24/2008, -0/+16Pix of Anon hiding elephant in desert plz. :-)
- Vic333, on 01/24/2008, -4/+2Yes. They need to get pictures when Xenu magically manifests himself 40 feet tall in front of the Scientology building to protect it.
- DroogInPhoenix, on 01/24/2008, -0/+59We also expect a laptop with internet connection so it's posted to youtube 3 minutes later.
- Logicexe, on 01/24/2008, -0/+25If enough people show up they'll probably have some news coverage, wait scratch that, they'll have tons of news coverage.
- godofgodlygods, on 01/24/2008, -1/+10Yeah... right.
We had tens of thousands of people stormiing the streets of the nation's capital in September, two hundred getting arrested by riot police, here in the U.S., and the media didn't say a word.- Audacitor, on 01/24/2008, -0/+7That's here in the US. They're there, in the UK. Or are things just as bad as there?
- DogBotherer, on 01/24/2008, -0/+8Well, given the history, I imagine the BBC would love to cover it!
- Logicexe, on 01/25/2008, -0/+2Yes but this is Scientology. People are always willing to shower attention on anything dealing with Scientology because it's controversial.
- carpespasm, on 01/26/2008, -0/+2controversial and safe to badmouth without much fear of retribution.
- godofgodlygods, on 01/24/2008, -1/+10Yeah... right.

- neiltc13, on 01/24/2008, -82/+16Can someone please explain to me what makes scientology so much more important than other "religions" that people digg all the stories here?
Religion is all nonsense - you might NEVER find out what the "truth" is, even after you die so what is the point?- sdellboy, on 01/24/2008, -1/+99Scientology costs you $300,000 to find out a 'truth'.
All other religions let you worship for free.
THAT is why Scientology smells so bad and why Anon have gone after them.- Thex1138, on 01/24/2008, -1/+10..and if you are shown to be 'imperfect' after mind washing...pay up again for the same course...
If you can't cure cancer, cure radiation sickness or the mentally ill with your powers...or you can't walk among mortals when you're an OT then again you have to do the course over again until you can...and pay for it.- Nitesmoke, on 01/24/2008, -1/+15Every single Scientology article on Digg this past week: Scientology Sucks and the Internet is Fighting Back
Comments: But Scientology is no worse than any other religion
If you think this, go punch yourself in the face and save us the trouble, the difference has been explained to death, but you ***** keep posting the same ***** statement. Scientology is different, get over it, if you want to bash Christians, do it in a Christian thread.- Thex1138, on 01/24/2008, -13/+2Hypocrite
- sq2shooter, on 01/24/2008, -3/+8No worse than any other religion? Are you just pretending to be stupid or have you zero knowledge on what makes Scientology different from all religions? One is a religion (right or wrong) and one is a financial scam (taking advantage of the gullible) pretending to be a religion.
- Nitesmoke, on 01/24/2008, -1/+8@ sq2shooter
Im saying what "they" were saying, I believe scientology is far worse, sorry if my description was ambiguous.
- Nitesmoke, on 01/24/2008, -1/+15Every single Scientology article on Digg this past week: Scientology Sucks and the Internet is Fighting Back
- Kelmon, on 01/24/2008, -17/+2Oh, please. Who the hell has $300,000 (which, I admit, is about £50 these days) to spend on religion? It's a high barrier to entry that most people can't pay so by that they won't become Scientologists whereas every other religion can brainwash you for free. I'm not saying that it is not a bad religion but I am saying that it sounds less damaging than the others since you can't afford it anyway.
- lukak, on 01/24/2008, -0/+11they take various amounts over many years, fool. it's not an entry fee.
- Teh_Shiz, on 01/24/2008, -0/+3Tom Cruise..
- lukak, on 01/24/2008, -0/+11they take various amounts over many years, fool. it's not an entry fee.
- Thex1138, on 01/24/2008, -1/+10..and if you are shown to be 'imperfect' after mind washing...pay up again for the same course...
- Jeffler, on 01/24/2008, -1/+27Cause this one makes people go broke, and has no real values to it whatsoever? At least others teach some positive values.
Not to mention its smaller and easier to dent. - WatchDogX, on 01/24/2008, -1/+13Scientology just serves as a recent example of how easy it is to get idiots to follow your religion. I found it funny when in some Scientology song the lyrics were (sarcasticaly )"xenu sic im a freaking real as jesus"
song: http://scisong.ytmnd.com/ - Nivinity, on 01/24/2008, -0/+25Because they drain their followers financially, disconnect them from their non scientologist family, deny ill people medication, silence their critics, and have a doctrine of brainwashing LRon took from Stalin's secret police. Look up operation snow white, operation freakout and all the legal summaries by judges calling it an oppressive and brutal organization. They even have their own labour camps. Just do some research from non scientologist sources
- envirotex, on 01/24/2008, -0/+8They're more than a little bit fascist and we know where that leads.
Tax exept status kinda ***** a lot of people too. - kevyn, on 01/24/2008, -0/+17Scientology teaches people to sort of pretend that mental illness doesn't exist, which harms a lot of innocent ill people.
- Fhwqhgads, on 01/24/2008, -6/+2They want mental illness? Look in the mirror.
- TroHax, on 01/25/2008, -1/+0That was just stupid.
- Pixelante, on 01/24/2008, -0/+19Scientology is proprietary, DRM-protected, copyrighted religion.
Christianity ,on the other hand, is free, open-source religion and if you're especially good at coding (like Luther), you can even fork it.- GNAAstaos, on 01/24/2008, -0/+8Best nerd-friendly summary ever.
- nullifidian0, on 01/24/2008, -0/+3Shame the core engine was CVS hacked in the beta version.
- slvrbullet87, on 01/24/2008, -2/+1Christianity was coded on Linux. Scientology isnt MAC compatable
- Audacitor, on 01/24/2008, -2/+1Good, I wouldn't want that ***** anywhere near my Mac. However, given Christianity's status in the world of religions, I'd say it's more Microsoft than Apple. Apple would be... either Buddhist, Hindu, or Zen, or some other eastern religion. As would Linux.
- Drood, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Pixelante, that may be the single finest comment I've read on Digg! As for why going against Scientology... Only someone who knows nothing about Scientology would ask that question. Pixelante summed it up perfectly. Watch the orientation video that's leaked. Their entire argument on "Is Scientology really a religion?" is based entirely on court decisions around the world. They are a cult. They're evil. And I wish ANON all the luck in the world in bringing these brainwashing sacks of ***** down, and failing that being a MASSIVE thorn in their side and exposing them for what they really are.
- Pixelante, on 01/25/2008, -0/+0Darn. I've said something that passes as smart. I fail at Digg.
- Inquisition, on 01/24/2008, -2/+1Why is there always someone in these Scientology discussions that can't wait to bash every other religion? Post your own article and bash religion there. This is a discussion regarding Scientology, and not religion in general.
- calon9, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1None of the comments here so far (while true), really indicate why Scientology is any worse than any other religion. There are probably tons of far worse atrocities in other religions (because they have been around much longer and have had more time to rack up the horrors).
But Scientology is the first religion out there to rely heavily on intimidation, backed by lawyers and big money, to censor and ruin the reps and lives of people who choose to criticize them or even just choose to talk about them publicly. Scientology seems to go hand in hand with oppression of free speech, and that is what pisses off so many people, especially young people who grew up with the freedom and empowerment of the internet.- feebie, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2It's worse because it's a mind controlling cult.
- Drood, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1I dislike organised religion of any kind as it invariably leads to madness, but as feebie says, it's a mind controlling cult. The actions of Scientology are that of a cult, NOT a religion. I mean it's banned in Germany because it's a cult.

- deeringc, on 01/24/2008, -5/+11Well... the best way to represent a date in a logical format is from smallest unit to largest: day / month / year
Thats the way Europe and I think most of the rest of the world (except the US) does it! We can still SAY Jan 24th or 24th of Jan, but in writing, to avoid any confusion, we stick with the increasing date unit format!- bxblox, on 01/24/2008, -2/+2While in Europe people assume everyone else is doing it wrong, the rest of the world does it from largest unit to smallest.
- nullifidian0, on 01/24/2008, -0/+5A better way is larger to smaller, which can then be sorted alphanumerically.

- phronko, on 01/24/2008, -3/+4And Canada.
Where we're sorta confused and use both, so you never know which it is.
The world should just pick one and stick with it. - RockinRoel, on 01/24/2008, -1/+6International isn't yyyy/dd/mm, it's yyyy-mm-dd.
Also, here in Belgium it's dd/mm/yy. I've been using yyyy-mm-dd for years now, though. I wonder why nobody does that, it's the standard! They taught me that in my first year in high school, but the teachers don't even use it. - bosssmiley, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Sorry AussieNickuss. My bad.
- skankyBacon, on 01/24/2008, -0/+3I say just remove all ambiguity. That's why I use "10 February 2008" or "10 Feb 2008." Hard to take that the wrong way.

- poidh, on 01/24/2008, -33/+9What's funny is that there are constant calls in threads on Digg to be "tolerant" of peoples' religions, especially Islam of course. But it seems that Scientology is fair game. I wonder if Scientology would be fair game if they started exploding/ threatening to chop off heads/ etc.
- Tanktunker, on 01/24/2008, -0/+22Scientology hurts people and destroys lives, and they do it in a passive agressive manner, which is even worse than the whole suicide bombing terrorism thing, because it's much harder to warn people about them like this.
- suppah, on 01/24/2008, -2/+12well, it seems that the extensive techniques of brainwashing, showing up to your friends and harassing people who left (untill they suicide) make of scientology a fair game.
- poidh, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1I understand that. But since Islam is approximately 100,000 times worse, how come Islam isn't fair game.
Again, here's the real answer. It's because Scientologists haven't worked out the art of exploding yet.- CanNot, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1Scientology is doing terrible things in a free nation. Islamic people are doing terrible things in nations they own. AKA Scientology does not have the right to do what they do in our nations.

- JagoRayken, on 01/24/2008, -8/+1Why announce it? it should be secret so they don't know when you are coming. the church could get the police involved and then you get mass arrests.

- chase001, on 01/24/2008, -24/+10I am an Athiest, but I see religious intolerance is as alive and kicking as racism even today. All Cults of Faith are equally dangerous whether it is Scientology, Christianity, Islam, etc, etc.
- TwoDotOh, on 01/24/2008, -2/+6You are why we are one of the most distrusted minorities.
- Suricou, on 01/24/2008, -2/+1No, some are clearly more dangerous than others. Islam and dominionist christian churches are competing closely for the top spot. Scientology comes well below them. But there are also many religions well below scientology on the danger rankings.
- RedHerringHack, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Must be black? Use any excuse to get your whiney racism opinion in front of eyes. I guess you are... mmm 22.
- bosssmiley, on 01/24/2008, -1/+6Scientology != proper religion
Scientology = successful scam- nullifidian0, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2Define "proper" religion.
- credence, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2I'd argue a religion is something that can be discussed and criticized rationally. Martin Luther caused a stir by nailing some ***** to the wall a while back when he had a problem with the church and he was not killed nor sued for it.
The Cult of Scientology routinely uses its strange hybrid status as both a corporation and a religion to drop DMCAs for anyone criticizing their beliefs, censoring free speech. See:
http://yro.slashdot.org/yro/01/03/16/1256226.shtml
I'm not saying Jesusmen, Joos, etc are right or even rational all the time. I am just saying they don't attack sites with Copyright takedowns when they read something critical of their organization. - bosssmiley, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1A proper religion: one that offers consolation and hope against the harsh realities of life *without* trying to get its grubby fingers into your wallet.
Any organisation that demands _mandatory_ tithes to the church (rather than mandating that you give directly to charity - like Islam does) isn't the real deal.
A true search for God precludes worship of Mammon.
