RUSSIA: BOMBERS in CUBA "Disinformation" It is FALSE Digg it
rawstory.com — This is very important for you to DIGG......and get the truth out!! "We regard these sorts of reports from anonymous sources as disinformation," RIA Novosti quoted defence ministry spokesman Ilshat Baichurin as saying.

- kemp34, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2I heard the Russian's were pissed about that.
- Shiftgood, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Were you really scarred by the first story?
yeah.... me either. - kaze85, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1Don't think it's true.
Hello from Russia.
Привет из России :) - Jimbo101, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1Well, with our Commander Decider and his sidekick Darth Cheney leaving office it's likely the "War on Terra" will slide into the background. This means the "defense" industry will be needing a new bad-guy to take it's place. Enter our old nemesis THE EVIL EMPIRE (echos fade into the dark night). Rumors abound. What nonsense.
- kylevonolbert, on 07/25/2008, -2/+1Hello?!? You're quoting RIA Novosti, the *press agency* of the Russian presidential administration.
If Russia was placing weapons in Cuba, OF COURSE THEIR PRESS AGENCIES WOULD DENY IT.
Think back to the Cuban missile crisis. If you remember, Russia's placement of the missiles in Cuba was a strategic counterweight to the US missiles in Turkey. The Russians vehemently denied placing strategic mid-range ballistic missiles in Cuba. Andrei Gromyko denied it to Kennedy's face (although we had photographic evidence to the contrary). When we pressed the issue at the UN, the Russian ambassador would only say "you will have your answer in due time."
Feeling deja vu?
The currently proposed US-European missile shield has drawn strong objections from the Russians. America already has agreements with the Czechs and is making progress with Poland. While America says the shield is intended as a defensive measure to thwart missile attacks from countries such as North Korea and Iran, Russia and China have argued that the shield is a potentially offensive measure.
Given shadow-President Vladimir Putin's Neo-Cold War worldview, the placement of bombers in Cuba as a response to the American missile shield is not only possible, but probable. I wish I could say otherwise, but that would be dangerously naïve.
A good solution would be to work with the Russians on building a jointly-controlled US-Russian missile shield. - ChristPissed, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1Note to OP King0007 : Please put your personal comments down here in the comment section and use the story title & decription just for actual information from or about the story (Perhaps a cut-n-paste or a concise synopsis). - BabyWookie, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1LOL. I can't believe how many people on Digg actually bought that whole "bombers in Cuba" story. I even got buried for calling it complete BS.
