- NatashaCall, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3Just found out that he died in his apartment at approximately 6:30pm. He died of causes incident of age. He was healthy until the past couple of days, so this is a shock to many. He was surrounded by his family at his passing.
- NatashaCall, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3It has been stated that there will be a state funeral that will be broadcast worldwide.
- NatashaCall, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3There are members of the LDS Church singing hymns outside his apartment right now and doing the same at Temple Square. They are also placing flowers in various locations in his honor as people are grieving here in Utah tonight. The grieving process is worldwide and, since my great uncle, President Spencer W. Kimball, I haven't grieved a prophet this much. I feel a big impact, however, I know that he is with his wife and has finished his work here on earth. My tears are out of respect, out of joy for him, and also because of loss of his humor and his ability to reach to all different groups and ages of people. I will miss his joking around at conference and other services I've been fortunate to see him in. His spirit has touched millions and will continue to do so well after this day in time.
- libertyfriend, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1He will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to his family and to those who will step up to take his place. I agree, he had an amazing sense of humor, an amazing love for everyone, and truly dedicated his life to serving others. His words had a profound impact on my life. I always saw him as a rational voice of peace, integrity, and wisdom. What can we do but honor his memory by studying his life and words and learning from his example.
