- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+69I'm assuming they didn't shave their bush.
- LarianLeQuella, on 10/12/2007, -11/+35But it's so fashionable to hate anything to do with America or Bush. We just need to make the allegations.
Although, some Bush bush would have been nice! :) - MikeKnoop, on 10/30/2007, -8/+28Question of the day:
Would you do the Bush daughters?
-Mike - Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22Not True. http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=domesticNews&storyid=2006-11-28T002533Z_01_N27178211_RTRUKOC_0_US-ARGENTINA-BUSH-TWINS.xml&src=rss&rpc=22

Embassy denies asking Bush twins to leave Argentina
Mon Nov 27, 2006 7:25pm ET147
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) - The U.S. Embassy in Argentina rejected reports that it had told President George W. Bush's twin daughters to leave the country after a widely publicized purse-snatching incident.
ABC News reported on its Web site on Monday that embassy officials had "strongly suggested" that the twins, Jenna and Barbara Bush, cut short their visit to Buenos Aires due to security concerns.
Argentine officials confirmed last week that one of Bush's daughters had her purse stolen in San Telmo, a neighborhood popular with tourists. The incident led to teasing by Argentine media about the twins' seemingly ineffective Secret Service bodyguards.
"We have seen a report from news sources stating that embassy officials strongly suggested that President Bush's daughters curtail their visit in Argentina," the U.S. Embassy said in a written statement. "This is false.
"The embassy welcomes the visit and has provided close support and cooperation," the statement read.
Television footage showed the Bush daughters cheering on Argentina's most popular soccer club, Boca Juniors, on Sunday. The twins marked their 25th birthday in Argentina on Saturday.
It was not immediately clear whether they were still in Argentina on Monday. - ffachopper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Hey guys, I'm from Argentina. It seems the story is innacurate, no one told 'em to leave from the country, not from the US or Argentina. One of the girls had her purse stolen but that didn't made them leave the country, they even went to a soccer match last sunday!
- xGORDOx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11This has been reported as false.
Inaccurate. - gnatgirl, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14They're adults. If they want to act like "normal" twentysomethings, let them. They don't seem too concerned about their security, why should we?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14Inaccurate.

Oh wait... - LarianLeQuella, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Remember how unkind the media was to Chelsea? One reason a lot of people probably never run for public office, you end up in a fishbowl, and you can't even take a ***** in privacy anymore.

I don't think Digg has been going far right after the election, go to the Political News section. You will not find one article making the front 5 pages that is pro anything republican or anti anything democrat.
You might be noticing the increased number of conservatives commenting on the stories, but the liberal diggers are simply much more organized than the conservative ones, thats why the front page gets spammed with thinkprogress and mediamatters and crooksandliars all day every day. - twinklyJesus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3FTFA:
"Official response from the US Embassy in Argentina:
We have seen a report from news sources stating that Embassy officials strongly suggested that President Bush’s daughters curtail their visit in Argentina.
This is false, as are other aspects of the report referring to the Embassy’s position on the visit.
The Embassy welcomes the visit and has provided close support and cooperation."
No Digg. - quik22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3marked as inaccurate. the title is misleading... they weren't asked to leave Argentina- the title makes it seem as if the government from Argentina asked them to return home. the security detail with them reccomended they leave due to the difficulty in protecting them. bury this story.
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Have you ever smelled diseased bushes? Go for it dude. There is a huge line in front of you.
- skryingbreath, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Holy *****. You're the only person on digg to pull off a /b/ meme with grace. Congrats.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2no video, no good :-|
obviously not real - macslut, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Sorry, but the safety of the Bush daughters shouldn't be left to their own discretion. Think of it this way, if something happened to one of the Bush daughters in Argentina (murder, kidnapping, or even an attempt), don't you think Bush would send troops to invade Venezuela???
- justinmt7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3great. Here i am about to visit Argentina and the damn Bush's gotta go make a bad name for Americans. Wonderful.
- Tweekster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2and yet none of those things you mentioned has ANYTHING to do with this article.
it is based on allegations, and tabloid media. great reporting digg. those issues you mentioned are of actual importance. this post is basically reporting some note found on a cocktail napkin...
criticize a man for what he deserves to be criticized about, dont just go attack mode and bring up all kinds of random inane ***** like this.
bush has done many wrongs, what does his college aged (suddenly its wrong for a college student to party in this case) have to do with him...
petty attacks is all it is. - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Yeah, like their wiretapping and Patriot Act has done for us. They should have a 24 Bush channel including *****...to be fair. This would help stop terrorism.
- deaper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Actually the media pretty much left Chelsea alone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_Clinton#Absorbing_criticism
I don't remember any time where chelsea was involved in any sort of crazy shenanigans. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5nothing's quite as hot as two drunken texas whores running naked through a hotel...
rock and sweep those presidential bushes on my face! - Tweekster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0um unkind to chelsey? what the hell are you talking about, they barely ever talked about her because clinton did what a father as president should.. he went around to the media and said, "say what you will about me, leave my daughter alone"
and it worked, you hardly heard about her for 8 years. after clinton was out and as she became a full adult she was in the media a bit, but hardly that much...do you even know what state she is in off the top of your head? didnt think so. she caught a tiny bit of crap here and there but overall the media respected bill and left her the hell alone.
even the late shows didnt say much about her. like i said, there was a small amount of crap she took, but pretty much it was aimed at bill - chatty82, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Bush's daughters ought to work on a more secure purse strap arrangement. The whole family is "rum", with one of Jeb Bush's children in the news for drug arrests in Florida. The one that went to Yale took lesons in Spanish, but I don't think any of the Bush's have enough travel experience to go to the volatile country of Argentina. They do have enough money to pay if the Argentines suddenly devalue the peso, as they have a tendency to do when rich tourists come to town. An unstable currency and a volatile political situation do not make this a good place for tourists in thier early 20s.
- LarianLeQuella, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but as I recall, when Chelsea was going through her awkward years, there were a lot snide comments about her appearance and such (sorry, wikki is blocked at my office so I can't look at the article). Maybe it was more from Late Night and the Tonight Show?
- scottylist, on 10/12/2007, -11/+11Yup, cuz the US secret service obviously can't...
- shortarabguy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6"Thursday night, an ABC News producer was able to ... engage Barbara Bush in conversation while she checked her e-mail on a computer in the lobby ... No Secret Service agents were anywhere to be seen in the lobby..."
It's called Darwinism: If they won't leave after being told that it's too difficult to keep security, then they're clearly not the most progressive genes in the gene pool. The S.S. just seems to take that logic really really seriously, haha. - AlmostClever, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2
Watching Digg's relevance disappear before my eyes....this inaccurate and misleading story on the front page...how lame. - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Yeah, hear they just get cannibalized or shot at school...oh wait they go to elite schools that have different air then you or I breath.
- inactive, on 10/30/2007, -14/+12Didn't one of them get their purse snatched by an Argentine thug? Seems the Argentinian government is just trying to protect the Bush daughters from their vile citizenry.
- nicociri, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1@justinmt7
Too late, you americans ALREADY HAVE a bad name... - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Wonder why they would ever have to worry about security with all the love that the Bush's have fostered since WWII. Besides these twins are irrelevant...who on earth would want to take them hostage (annoying as hell), and who would kill them (everyone knows that when you kill a Bush family member, their Demon essence is released and infects five new people...plus if they die the smell never goes away within a 1 mile radius.)
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2gotta be one hell of a ruckus of you're booted from an entire country. ha ha.
- mantar, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5@Chompy:
I think I could keep their mouths busy enough so that they couldn't talk without requiring them to keep em shut. - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6"But it's so fashionable to hate anything to do with America or Bush. We just need to make the allegations."
Yeah, cause Bush has no responsibility for any of his actions and has done nothing but a fine job with Medicare, Katrina, Iraq, N. Korea, the class divide, military outsourcing etc. etc.
Yep just fashionable. Unlike for the first 7 years (when he announced his candidacy) when he was the media darling. Who won Time's man of the year in 2001? He ***** so bad that even the media started to go after him. You are glib. - dotpage, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1oHoOO!!
party naked in the pampas!! - joeczech, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2They got drunk after the soccer match and where playing soccer naked .
- joeczech, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Bushy beaver scares them?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -17/+10Pity they can't protect their people from the vile Bushes!
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5"Question of the day:
Would you do the Bush daughters?"
I prefer women, not perpetual children. - joeczech, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5Amen, to that.
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -15/+7"Would you do the Bush daughters?"
Sure, if they'd keep their mouths shut. -
