- johnnystars, on 03/10/2008, -7/+2umm.. dugg it .. but this is an old story already.
- theaceoffire, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1I knew about the chemicals they had for sanitation and strong bones, but not prescription strength drugs being incorporated into the water supply.
When did this first become public? - ChronicColonic, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2So I will have a $20 copay for a glass of water now?

- dpatel, on 03/10/2008, -6/+2i saw this on infowars over the weekend....makes me sick to find out whats in our water....I am on a mission to buy a water filter
- GoGreen2008, on 03/10/2008, -4/+0I know, I feel much better knowing my filter removes this stuff...check out www.WaterFilterComparisons.com to find some of the top rated water filters.
- vault, on 03/10/2008, -2/+1Nice spam, eco-Marxist.
- giantdouche, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2Reverse osmosis, vapor distillation & deionization are the only methods of truly purifying water. Carbon filters do *****-all.
- thecolor11, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Absolutely wrong. Activated carbon is highly effective at removing organics from water. In trying to remove pharmaceuticals it might be one of the best methods. At parts per trillion, though, what's the point? There are probably higher concentrations of toxins and other hazardous material than drugs in the water.

- DeskFlyer, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2Just read the description above; it's not hard to figure out. Here's the result of about 45 seconds of Google too:

- MichaelCo, on 03/11/2008, -5/+1No surprise - What about fluoride and all the other nasties - Do yourselves a favor and ONLY DRINK FILTERED WATER
- skidme, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1And watch your teeth turn to dust? No thanks.
- obliviousfool, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1What? You don't brush your teeth? Every single toothpaste and mouthwash on the market already has fluoride in it!
- gypsi, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1filtered tap water and bottled water are useless against these kinds of agents. don't kid yourself.
- skidme, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1And watch your teeth turn to dust? No thanks.
- WhiteRaven, on 03/11/2008, -2/+17This story is completely meaningless and affects no one. You might as well talk about the toxicity of apples. The levels are so far below anything that would actually have any effect it just doesn't matter.
- wontstoptalking, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1So if I have a headache... all the Clariton I need is in the water! This isn't so bad!
- Nudar, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Claritin is for allergies not headaches.
- l0k0, on 03/11/2008, -1/+51) Find story about incredibly low levels of water contamination
2) Advertise your own water filter website in the description

5) Profit! - ThePirateParty, on 03/11/2008, -0/+0No surprise here...
- DeathJux, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1This is the third time I've seen this story making its way to the front page in the last two days. Look at the URL, it's the FOURTH one that's been submitted! WTF.
- tomwoo2, on 03/11/2008, -0/+0Does this mean I can stop wasting money on antidepressants, blood thinners, cholesterol meds, pain meds and antihistamines and just drink more water?
- GinsuGuy585, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Spoiler Alert: Pass a law requiring waste and fresh water treatment to filter out pharmaceuticals.
- UltramegaOK, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1BRITA filters FTW
- gypsi, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1not for these contiminants
- gypsi, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1you see billy? americans get all the GOOD water
- MasterThief117, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Just another FUD article from the media.
- Qtip42, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Haha well water.............you druggies!
- chemrat, on 03/12/2008, -0/+1This really isn't an issue in my mind- we now have the ability to detect extremely low levels of drugs, far lower than significant for human health. Tap water is safe, and filters only work well if you remember to change them on the right schedule! The tap itself is plug n play!
- orchardo, on 10/22/2008, -0/+1We can all help fix this problem by disposing of our drugs properly rather than flushing them down the toilet.
