Planned Parenthood Accepted Racially Motived Donations
laist.com — Over the summer, The Advocate investigated the financial dealings of Planned Parenthood and made some shocking discoveries about the clinic-owning “nonprofit.” We obtained the information by having an actor call clinics across the country and pose as a donor. The actor who called, The Advocate’s advisor, communicated to them a very racist agenda

Have tried for decades to tell Progressives how racist Planned Parenthood is and always has been. - DWalla, on 04/23/2008, -7/+16Nice... and the liberals aren't racists? Kill the blacks!... Kill the blacks! is their call... but I'm sure they've found a nice PR firm to repackage that message into something the general masses can digest.
- mydigga, on 04/24/2008, -8/+2Your comment is as distorted as the simple mind of the performance based sales person who works on commission that took that donation.
- TYRONEBR549, on 04/24/2008, -2/+3So you defind these racists mass murders?

- Stevanoski, on 04/23/2008, -3/+14If you get a chance to listen to the audio link in the article it is embarrassing as you can tell the woman accepting the phone call for PP is clearly uncomfortable.
- MrColdheart, on 04/24/2008, -0/+7true she was annoyed, too bad the soundtrack later on stops me from understanding the rest of it.

- mejaredme, on 04/23/2008, -1/+15This is wrong. Plain and simple.
- magemobot, on 04/23/2008, -4/+10Ha. Aren’t the liberals the ones pushing political correctness? Is it now politically correct to kill all “minorities” including the black person?
- MarkusGarvey, on 04/23/2008, -14/+8OK guys....you can use my tinfoil hat...so now Planned Parenthood is a secret conspiracy to kill black children!....gimme brake Stevie!..this is totally ridiculous...
- Stevanoski, on 04/23/2008, -5/+9Mark, experiment done by UCLA students, go listen to the audio link. Would have posted the paper but it is in Adobe.
I was hoping you might at least listen before commenting. After all, if you agree this is terrible, then you would want PP to know would you not?- MarkusGarvey, on 04/24/2008, -6/+4i did listen to it...i was just a bunch of sound bytes of people being set up, and having no clue how to deal with it..this is really crazy...
- RuffRidr, on 04/24/2008, -2/+5Ah, the classic "that bitch set me up!" defense.
- MarkusGarvey, on 04/24/2008, -7/+2way to condescend there * RuffRidr ..
- RuffRidr, on 04/24/2008, -2/+6Come on, you're either defending racism or calling the people (at multiple facilities, mind you) too stupid to recognize that specifically targeting minorities for abortions is racism. I have a hard time believing the latter, and I find the former indefensible. If you find that condescending, then so be it.
- MarkusGarvey, on 04/24/2008, -5/+2let me see.....hmmmm....i pick...."calling the people (at multiple facilities, mind you) too stupid to recognize that specifically targeting minorities for abortions is racism."..it was a confidence game, plain and simple...don't be so gullible...
- MarkusGarvey, on 04/24/2008, -6/+4i did listen to it...i was just a bunch of sound bytes of people being set up, and having no clue how to deal with it..this is really crazy...
- flip2trip, on 04/24/2008, -3/+8Wasn't it the founder of planned parenthood Margaret Sanger who advocated aborting black babies because they were inferior? So if the organization was founded on racism, why assume it's any different today?
- mydigga, on 04/24/2008, -6/+3By that logic you are in fact yourself a racist. Slavery was alive and well when this country was born and the citizens were just fine with that. So if this country was founded on racism, why assume it's any different today? RACIST!!
- dotlizard, on 04/24/2008, -5/+3The conspiracy isn't by PP, Markus, it's against them -- this is not the first attack on PP done by actors making phone calls, many many phone calls, until they get the person on the other end to screw up. it's a big organization and if you are thorough enough, you will find someone who responds inappropriately to you. It's not done by people trying to combat racism, it's done by people trying to bring down Planned Parenthood.
"This isn't the first time Advocate Editor-in-Chief, Lila Rose, has dug into Planned Parenthood's policies and practices. Last spring, the then 18-year-old UCLA journalist looked into Los Angeles clinics wanting to show that Planned Parenthood was not following the law regarding minors and abortion."- MarkusGarvey, on 04/24/2008, -6/+3i was being sarcastic Dot...i totally agree with you...Stevie and those guys are crazy...
- RuffRidr, on 04/24/2008, -1/+6"Last spring, the then 18-year-old UCLA journalist looked into Los Angeles clinics wanting to show that Planned Parenthood was not following the law regarding minors and abortion."
That's a bad thing?- MarkusGarvey, on 04/24/2008, -4/+2you don seem to realize that they were using deceptive practices with people who were obviously not prepared to deal with the situation...
- novaculus, on 04/24/2008, -2/+3You mean not prepared to tell a racist where to stick his contribution, but well prepared to agree to his restrictions on use so long as he coughed up the dough? They're not racists, they're just willing to take racists' money and use it to further racists' genocidal agendas? I agree, that is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from being racists themselves. Perfectly moral and ethical, far superior morally to the nasty deceptive researchers who exposed PPs willingness to play along with racist scum so long as PP got the money. After all, so what if the racist earmarks his contribution for aborting children of a race he despises? Frees up other money for aborting children of other races, right? Where's the downside, right?
Mind-boggling hypocrisy.

- RuffRidr, on 04/24/2008, -2/+4You just responded to my comment about a journalist looking into clinics giving illegal abortions to minors. If they weren't prepared to deal with that then maybe they should have brushed up on the law in their state.
- dotlizard, on 04/24/2008, -2/+1well here's the thing. if you have a "journalist" and i use the term loosely, who targets a particular organization and uses deceptive tactics to try to catch them screwing up (and believe me - choose ANY large organization, put some effort into going after them until you find someone who screws up, law of averages says you'll find one) -- that's not really journalistic. did this "journalist" also publish the encounters which did not fit into what she was looking for? is there ANY objectivity at all?
no journalistic standards, just a person with an agenda going after a target, and using con artist methods. yeah, let's all get worked up. - RuffRidr, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1"did this "journalist" also publish the encounters which did not fit into what she was looking for"
The papers would be pretty boring to read if the journalists started publishing everything that was not really news.

- dotlizard, on 04/24/2008, -10/+4ok i'm going to get dugg down like hell, but i have to put this out there. now put yourself in this position: you're a nonprofit organization that is constantly being attacked by the right wing, and the tide of public opinion is not moving in your favor. more and more federal funding is used as a tool to force the teaching of abstinence only, and protesters march outside your offices regularly. it is a given that your donations are down. now, in this position, you receive a phone call from a donor with a totally messed-up view on life, but, he is going to give your organization money which it can then put to good use. do you take the *****'s money, or do you send him packing?
in a perfect world, that answer is "no! we refuse the donation, and any and all donations from individuals whose intentions do not conform to the politically correct worldview". but we live in an imperfect world.
i totally agree that everything about those phone calls is deeply disturbing and ***** up. but i can also see the impracticality of holding nonprofits responsible for the moral and ethical shortcomings of all their donors. and the bottom line is, an *****'s donations do just as much good as a nice person's money.- flip2trip, on 04/24/2008, -1/+11This is not about being PC this is about an organization taking money to use specifically to abort black babies and you cannot see the atrocity of this? In addition your reference to the money being "put to good use" would indicate you approve of the mass murder occurring everyday at abortion mills in this country.
- dotlizard, on 04/24/2008, -5/+2ok look -- the organization in question's stated purpose is to provide assistance that includes abortions and birth control. i did not know we were debating the pros and cons of abortion, that's another argument entirely. what i am addressing here is the fact that this nonprofit organization agreed to accept a donation from someone who played the role of a person who hates black people -- are you suggesting that all nonprofits must screen potential donors to ferret out those whose intentions are bad?
you can say, ok i'll take your money and it'll provide services to black women. and as long as the funds you spend to help black women is over the amount that was given by people wanting only to provide services to black women, then you've fulfilled your end of the bargain by accepting the money. it does not affect your stated mission.
and when it comes right down to it, i'm willing to bet when the phone operator said she'd never had a call like that, it's because there aren't any white supremacists making those kinds of donations. so in this little fantasy world where someone plays make believe white supremacist donor, and in the real world, everyone freaks out. it's not like there is an epidemic of KKK philanthropy out there.
you seem to be just looking for reasons to bash planned parenthood because you disagree with their mission. fine, you've found another reason.- danielttt, on 04/24/2008, -0/+4Margaret Sanger was a strong proponent of eugenics, racial supremacy and purity and the like. Seems like accepting this kind of donation is in perfect keeping with their founding ideology. While they can't trumpet this philosophy today, it's certainly convenient for them to have like minded doners.
- drachemorder, on 04/25/2008, -1/+2You know what, if I hated black people and wanted to get rid of as many as possible, I'd quite likely want to donate money to organizations that kill blacks and otherwise keep them from having more babies. Thankfully, I'm not a racist, I do not hate black people, I detest Planned Parenthood, and I do not want any babies killed no matter what color they are. I'm just doing a thought experiment here --- if I lacked morals then Planned Parenthood would seem to me a very good means to that end. So I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that there were KKK types donating to it.

- mydigga, on 04/24/2008, -5/+2Not to bring up Ron Paul, but remember his response when they tried to slam him for taking a donation from a KKK member? Somewhere along the lines of "I'm going take the money from a bad person and do something good with it." The same rules apply here.
- KJeffV, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2...not when it incl's my tax dollar, `Panky.
- danielttt, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Agreed! Ron Paul taking money form the KKK is no different.
- drachemorder, on 04/25/2008, -0/+3My solution would be to cease the activities that are getting boycotted and protested and instead focus on helping people, you know, make the RIGHT decisions --- help them bring the baby to term, put it up for adoption, give women shelter and support when they're in a bad situation, anything EXCEPT killing the babies. Then they might actually be a respectable organization worth supporting.
- flip2trip, on 04/24/2008, -1/+11This is not about being PC this is about an organization taking money to use specifically to abort black babies and you cannot see the atrocity of this? - lodibug3, on 04/24/2008, -3/+10Margaret Sanger and ilk... have never been quite about their agenda. We cannot, as with any issue, see what the purpose is of a thing, without applying God's word to it. Andrew Carnegie looked great too, but his agenda was wicked. Yes, he gave and gave and gave to churches...libraries etc, but with what strings attached? Even the Christian community is BLIND to this sort of thing. It's time we recognize how subtle and crafty our enemy is.
- Overmind12812, on 04/24/2008, -3/+2I'm not trying to be racist; but there is a statistical correlation between young minority women (especially black women) and unplanned pregnancies.
- AlwaysAwake, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2Ethnic cleansing American style. The authorities love all this in-fighting among us, so we'll them alone. As the current campaigns for office prove, The Great Divide in race is widening, not shrinking. This does not bode well for our nation, as the rhetoric is ratcheting up to the boiling point, where all bets are off.
- hope4god, on 04/25/2008, -2/+1Abortion on demand is Murder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont get why women get so upset and say its my body im a woman etc yes and your a baby killer also, God truly blesses us with children to kill a baby just because you dont want it is horrible. Rape then adoption, Mother going to die for having baby then no brainer understand. Planned parenthood is just that a Hood and its a political money maker who is in the biz to make money off of people, who kill their baby
- ikbrooks, on 04/25/2008, -0/+3Google Margaret Sanger. That is why this is not news.
- Skeptic1488, on 04/25/2008, -1/+0They will take money from anyone - all they can. Most abortions are had by middle class White women. Most all aborted are from White mothers. The agenda is to encourage White women to have less children via nonsense about the population explosion that is actually all non_White (White people have not been at replacement for 40 years), career, feminism and abortion. very few non-Whites have abortions - especially not negroids or mulatto's. I WISH!! For every child they have the Gov. pays them.
- n0gnuz, on 04/26/2008, -0/+2It is funny how the minoritarian/cultural Marxist left beatified Sanger for popularizing abortion, when Sanger's abortion program was largely directed at reducing the minority population. Shows that womanism is still a primary tenet of minoritarianism.
