Plane runs off Mesa runway; crash kills 2 near Springerville

azcentral.com — At 10:30 p.m., an aircraft that had departed from Springerville crashed and caught fire, killing its two passengers about three miles south of Springerville Municipal Airport, said Ian Gregor, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman. The plane, a Piper Cherokee, was a single engine aircraft, Gregor said.
