Plane crashes in central Russia, 88 dead

It's my first stop if I hear of a plane crashing because they normally have the most accurate and up to date info on any given accident (down to the tail number and history of the a/c that crashed). It's not blog spam, it's just a good, informative website. Why so serious? ;)

With all the mechanics involved with Digg unless it has to do with the GOP, piracy, or Apple it will take days if not weeks for "news" to reach the frontpage at which point it ceases to be news. Google News had it up on their front page within an hour of the plane crash. I'm not criticizing Digg I'm just contemplating "news" on Digg.

    I wish the cost-cutting mentality wasn't so prevalent. I also wish our government would take a much harder stance on the aviation industry here in Russia. They give them free reign, mostly, and they put profits above safety. :/

      Unless someone has some interesting technical details or other information about the systems that lead up to the crash, it is just noise.

      Are you some kind of ghoulish emotional crusader that has to have a crying fit over every death?

        And yes sharing your condolences at the start of your message is not beyond digg.

        But the Chuck Norris, or the "in Soviet Russia" jokes are simply out of place. This is what I would expect form a sociopath with social skills ranking in the negative.

        You wouldn't say something like this at a dinner party, you wouldn't say something like this at work. How would you feel if a friend died in a crash and someone made a chuck norris joke.. for *****'s sake.

        I'm getting ***** off with such morrons being associated with digg, get the ***** off the internet and go get slammed in real life *****, you need it.

    Are children better or worse than "average" people? Why does it mater?
    If 6 children are dead should I feel better? If I assume that they are less valuable than adults then 6 children are equivalent to maybe 2 adults. In that case only 78 people died in the crash. Does not look as bad. Right?

  • savagesteve13, on 09/16/2008, -0/+1Probably another defective 737. The boeing is known to have software problems which cause "uncommanded rudder deflection", where the rudder pegs itself to one side and stays there. The pilot can't do a thing about it and the plane spirals into the ground.
    Russia should buy sukhoi superjets and get rid of the defective boeing product.
