- h0dges, on 07/14/2009, -3/+102Huh, so I guess that turbine's next to get married.
- SKLOKAZOID, on 07/14/2009, -0/+73I was hoping the bride threw the flowers with superman strength into a plane. Still pretty over the top, though.
- angusm, on 07/14/2009, -0/+64Cutting the wedding cake with a chainsaw didn't turn out to be such a good idea either.
- sh1tman, on 07/14/2009, -2/+55Dugg for the thought of women trying to dodge a brick to the face.
- WordsnCollision, on 07/14/2009, -0/+42The honeymoon should be a blast.
- borez, on 07/14/2009, -1/+39What an idiot, he should have tied a brick onto the bouquet to weigh it down.
- Anand999, on 07/14/2009, -1/+31Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, something crashed into a hostel.
- 1x253, on 07/14/2009, -1/+30My first reaction was,"Man, there's gotta be about 50 college fast pitch softball coaches that are gonna be real interested in THAT bride!"
- BryanTravers, on 07/14/2009, -0/+28What could possibly convince anyone this was a good idea?
- thundercloud39, on 07/14/2009, -3/+30You could say the pilot had a hostel reaction.
- Eurynom0s, on 07/14/2009, -0/+25On the positive side, you know they'll never forget their wedding.
- rocknog, on 07/14/2009, -1/+26Dugg for the thought of women trying to put themselves in the path of a brick-laden bouquet.
- mgd4, on 07/14/2009, -0/+24a plane crash at a wedding.... good luck? bad luck? I'm not that educated in all these wedding traditions
- anexanhume, on 07/14/2009, -3/+20Sure she sucks, but does she swallow?
- r0ryb0ryalis, on 07/14/2009, -1/+14With the stripper inside and all.
- wannaBdug, on 07/14/2009, -2/+12Why would one think to do that? IQ 0
- Brak710101, on 07/14/2009, -1/+10"The bride and groom had hired a small plane to fly past and throw the bouquet to a line of women guests, Corriere della Sera reported.
However, the flowers were sucked into the plane's engine causing it to catch fire and explode."
That's pretty unlucky. ...Actually, that's pretty impressive. - hsesports05, on 07/14/2009, -0/+8Are plane engines really that fragile that flowers would bring them down? Nice little piece of info to fuel my fear of flying.
- wolfing, on 07/14/2009, -1/+9I know! laser guided bombs latest technology still can't hit an exact spot, and they wanted to throw a bouquet of flowers into a bunch of women from a flying plane
- brettmjohnson, on 07/14/2009, -0/+7“As God is my witness, I swear I thought turkeys could fly!”
- TheEggAndI, on 07/14/2009, -0/+7oh yeah, i remember that because you got it wrong then, too
- angusm, on 07/14/2009, -0/+7According to the Italian press, the aircraft was an ultralight and the bouquet became tangled in the "tail rotor". I'm guessing that they actually mean that the aircraft had a rear-mounted "pusher" propeller.
- Thclife, on 07/14/2009, -0/+6wow you would think that jst throwing it from the ground was bad enough...when they fight over it.
but from a plane? i just do not see the point.
maybe the extra speed was supposed to be a challenge. - Alli3388, on 07/14/2009, -0/+6Well, that's what you get for being overly extravagant with your wedding. Just more things that could go wrong!
- adorkable81, on 07/14/2009, -0/+5Whoever came up with that idea deserves to get throw out of the plane. Bonus point if get sucked in the engine.
Anyway, glad no one is seriously hurt. - GREEDOnvrFIRED, on 07/14/2009, -0/+5I love when surplus cash screws the rich.
- xDynaBlade, on 07/14/2009, -0/+5See, this is what happens when you take something simple and then find a way to make it complicated.
- BryanTravers, on 07/14/2009, -0/+5FTA:
"The aircraft plunged into a hostel. One passenger on the plane was badly hurt." - jhandfield, on 07/14/2009, -1/+6Or burst into flames?
I think I'll take my chances with a different turbine. - Coven, on 07/14/2009, -1/+5yes, but he hit the wrong plane
- xsecretfiles, on 07/14/2009, -0/+4First ducks, now flowers??? what's next?
- itsthehumidity, on 07/14/2009, -1/+5When my girlfriend wants flowers I'll use this as my excuse not to get her any.
Flowers caused a plane crash and all you can think about is yourself? Nice. Real nice. Oh and I'm getting hungry, so you might want to get on that. - SouthsideIrish, on 07/14/2009, -1/+5LoL! Someone who has definitel not worked around aircraft. Anything in front of an engine, including people, will go into said engine, and I was an aircraft mechanic and I have seen it happen, including a F-16 ingest a mechanic. The pilot was stupid for doing this, because this was almost certainly what was going to happen if she just dropped the flowers. She might have been able to throw them, but even I wouldn't want to try it.
- Kuestionmark, on 07/14/2009, -0/+4nice try Alanis, give it another go next time around.
- vinod1978, on 07/14/2009, -1/+4Is it even legal to throw objects out of a plane? How did this get past their regulations?
- throneofdreams, on 07/14/2009, -2/+5I hope they learned their lesson and didn't throw any rice afterwards.
- bluesman3535, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3How did they find such a genius pilot? Amazing.
- 1x253, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3Why couldn't they possibly imagine the trajectory of said flowers once heaved? I'm pretty sure that it couldn't have been that difficult to foresee.
- wsanders, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3Thorough research of FAA regulations! Now do the same for the country this actually happened in.
- askantik, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3Since no one died, (and it doesn't say just how "badly" that one person is hurt), I can laugh at this. Love the blunt wording:
"However, the flowers were sucked into the plane's engine causing it to catch fire and explode." - 1x253, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Yeah, and I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed when I saw my initial impression was wrong; I liked it a lot better than the actual article.
I suppose that's why my post above is getting dugg up so much... it's so much more interesting. The real article is just kind of pathetic in an almost-Darwin-Award kind of a way. - mrfunktastic, on 07/14/2009, -1/+3YEEEAAAHHHHHHH
- jonlucc, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2I quote: "I was hoping..."
Read the comment before jumping on it. - Smyley, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2"Honey, remember our wedding day? When I brought down an airplane into a hostel? Happy Anniversary! I love you!"
- matu4251, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2well, they had to cancel the rocket that was supposed to take care of the rice...
- mlvassallo, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2People digging down your reference are too young to get it.
- palehorse864, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2WOW WHAT AN ARM!
Oh, the bouquet was thrown from the plane. Never mind. Heh. - Jaq524, on 07/14/2009, -1/+3And then of course you read the article and saw that the bouquet was thrown FROM the plane.
- johnomaz, on 07/14/2009, -1/+3stupid bitch.
- wunderdog, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Wasn't that a Simpsons episode?
