A greater lesson is that anyone thinking of robbing the elderly should think twice. These folks have lived from a time when one assumed personal responsibility for their safety, their belongings, and their moral standards of right and wrong. In another sense, she may have helped the young man to realize that the path he is on is not a good one. Perhaps he will learn a lesson. She could have shot him dead, but I rather think she gave him a second chance to get it right. Grandmas are like that!
