- SaladCactusKing, on 02/11/2008, -21/+228I was there. Epic win.
Digg if you too were there, and you agree: Epic win.- Errdoth, on 02/11/2008, -4/+41Passed by, had somewhere to be though, and I forgot a mask. Honked like hell =)

- prisoner24601, on 02/11/2008, -1/+41Perhaps the next set of protests should be in front of IRS buildings. Now that there is real awareness, the best way to attack the monster is to hit it in the wallet. Getting the IRS to revoke their tax exempt status is key.
- aceslick911, on 02/11/2008, -0/+18not a bad idea
- liquidpele, on 02/11/2008, -0/+9They have ***** tax exempt status???
Hell ya, this should be the front line for Anonymous. Currently, nothing would hurt them more than to get that revoked... I mean, I payed over $20,000 in taxes last year. They are a huge corporation, just imagine what kind of money they save with that *****....
- xlar54, on 02/11/2008, -21/+4Win what exactly?
- Tiak, on 02/11/2008, -6/+15Fail.
- wolferz, on 02/11/2008, -9/+5never ask that again. You only succeed in advertising yourself as being an outsider.
Simply: it is like saying "cool" or "awesome." Win would be saying that something is cool, Epic Win is, you guessed it, Awesome.
BTW, Fail is more or less the opposite.- CancerBomb, on 02/11/2008, -2/+5The major difference being that using words like "win", "epic", and "fail" make you sound like a massive tool.
- urbandistrict, on 02/11/2008, -0/+4How on Earth did anyone digg you for that comment? And why am I picturing you typing that wearing big Mikey-Mouse gloves on?
- xlar54, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1No, seriously... what did anonymous "win"? Does anyone *really* think Scientology is scared? These guys took on, and BEAT the IRS. "Anonymous" is background noise to these folks.
- urbandistrict, on 02/12/2008, -0/+2Sit and wallow in your hollow passive existence.
- liquidpele, on 02/11/2008, -6/+44Sorry, but I've looked at pictures from about 4 of these "raids", and you guys don't seem to grasp the real-world situation....
Scientology takes advantage of people that don't know it's a scam. To destroy scientology, you basically need to make every man, women, and child familair with the word scientology, and make the word synonymous with "scam". There is no other way. Holding up signs that say "Co$" does nothing, people don't know what that is. Handing out cards saying "scientology scammed me out of $3000 paying for stuff they said I needed, don't let it happen to you" would be much more helpful imho. This is not dragoncon, this is marketing. Not trying to say you did a bad job, but using your energy in the most effective means is the way to go.- urbandistrict, on 02/11/2008, -0/+9Which is precisely what had been done. I think you should pay more attention.
Some people pass out pamphlets while other people hold signs with Xenu, etc. The idea is to convey the message any way you can. Co$ and Xenu resonate with me. Target reached.
Have some faith in people's understanding of popular culture. 7 years ago l337 5p34k was code.- likeyehokwhatev, on 02/11/2008, -0/+4sorry, but most people not tied to a computer still would have no ***** clue what "1337 5p34k" means
- urbandistrict, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1You are forgiven, for being short-sighted.
As I have mentioned, some people choose to hand out pamphlets while others hold net savvy signs.
You seem to have stumbled across it's meaning...
Know your audience and then speak to them.
Personally, I am of the mindset that if you are not familiar with common internet jargon- you just aren't relevant to me.
- urbandistrict, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1You are forgiven, for being short-sighted.
- likeyehokwhatev, on 02/11/2008, -0/+4sorry, but most people not tied to a computer still would have no ***** clue what "1337 5p34k" means
- buckrogers1965, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1It can help the deluded fools already ensnared in the program to get out knowing that people are not in support of scientology.
- urbandistrict, on 02/11/2008, -0/+9Which is precisely what had been done. I think you should pay more attention.

ALL HAIL XENU!! (THX FROM ANON IN SYDNEY) - skunks, on 02/11/2008, -0/+3Live right around the corner on Lexington Avenue and caught the tail end of this. Shoulda seen the Scieno security people swarming L Ron Hubbard way, which the last time I checked was still a public street. Keep it up, get the COS out of Hollywood!
- defectDS, on 02/11/2008, -0/+3"IT'S A TRAP" has never been applied more perfectly than to the Co$.
- descentgr, on 02/11/2008, -11/+196you're a great photographer Rob. you should start up a deviant art account and offer prints through there. between stuff like this, NIN tour shots, etc., you would make a ton of sales
- dschep, on 02/11/2008, -3/+101I have to agree. The first thing I noticed is how nice the pictures were.
- NoStoppingUs, on 02/11/2008, -3/+48thats the only reason i looked throught entire album.

- mikehrp, on 02/11/2008, -0/+3There were about 6 high school age looking kids calmly carrying signs at the Tustin, CA branch today when I drove by. There were no less than 4 police cars there keeping an eye on the situation. I was going to take a picture but I am lazy.

- TheWorm, on 02/11/2008, -57/+14I'm not a Scientology supporter, but I think this new formed anti-scientology cult is just stupid, and ultimately pretty useless. Who really cares? It's one stupid cult taking on another stupid cult in a battle that really doesn't matter.
I doubt half of these people classifying themselves as "anon" are even doing it because they feel strongly, or have been personally affected by Scientology. Blind mob mentality can be dangerous.- round427, on 02/11/2008, -9/+27*whoosh* There went The Point right over your head. This isn't blind mob mentality, we have a pretty good idea what the ***** the Corporation of Scientology does to its critics and ex-members.
- TheWorm, on 02/11/2008, -22/+7Well that's good for you. I just really don't care about ex-members of Scientology. What a waste of time and energy.
- mllawso, on 02/11/2008, -3/+13I'll make a deal with you then: If I ever see you in a situation where you need help, you're on your own. After all, as far as I'm concerned, helping you would be a waste of my time and energy.
- halleyscomet, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1She misses a lot of points these days. She had to purge an extra 300 Thetans to get to OC2. The Thetans she purged were the ones that processed basic logic. TheWorm has been a real mess since then, poor girl.

/ Of course, FOX told me they do have yellow vans. - DarQraven, on 02/11/2008, -3/+2Yeah, what's up with the masks? In V, at least the Guy Fawkes masks were relevant and symbolic. Overthrowing the British government->Guy Fawkes. What does opposing a 'religious' cult have anything to do with the man? Personally I think it makes all this look like a fad. People who are trying to be 'just like in that awesome movie' just makes it all less serious. It makes you look like you just want to protest for the sake of protesting, instead of actually having a point.
- Waterrat, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1 The masks are to hide from the scientologists who will be watching and trying to track them down later.
- mllawso, on 02/11/2008, -0/+8V blew stuff up.
- megaton, on 02/11/2008, -33/+11When you're dealing with something as irrational as Scientology, how effective do you think protest is going to be in stopping it?
- SuspicionVandit, on 02/11/2008, -5/+16i buried your comment without even reading it. Can you post it again?

- urbandistrict, on 02/11/2008, -4/+4Bad point, I buried you because you have a defeatist attitude.
I'd imagine that you have never stood for anything because of the obstacles. Thankfully people *do* fight against injustices.- megaton, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Do I think protesting against Scientology is the best use of my time? Absolutely not. There are many far more important causes to which my attention can be paid.
- urbandistrict, on 02/11/2008, -1/+3I do not recall asking you that... but I'll bite.

- Adamande, on 02/11/2008, -0/+2World wide protests draw focus to the issue, and they educate people outside the cult. Perhaps this will make more people think twice before buying into Scientology. Even if Anonymous only prevents a single person from joining CoS, they should consider it a victory in my opinion.

- gelicia, on 02/11/2008, -3/+30what was the guy who was a scientologist since 1971 like? obviously a tool, but he seems a lot more up front than anyone else i've seen about his beliefs.
- appleswitch, on 02/11/2008, -0/+11I would really like to hear what he has to say, information should be free, even when it disagrees.
- dav234, on 02/11/2008, -0/+5that "tool" is a world class musician named Billy Sheehan who has played bass with David Lee Roth ,Steve Vai and countless others and still does today. While I have no sympathy for Scientology I do feel for people like him-he's always seemed like a really nice guy in interviews.
- Torx, on 02/11/2008, -3/+20beautiful pictures!! photography is superb and really catches the moments.
- TheWorm, on 02/11/2008, -37/+9Is anyone else tired of all this Scientology crap? I've been trying to just ignore it, because I really couldn't care less about "protesting" Scientology, but now it's like half the articles I see on Digg are relating to it. I can't filter it either because it's usually in World News or another category that I care about. If you feel like you need to bring down Scientology from the internet, then go for it, but to the rest of you, don't jump on the bandwagon for the sake of jumping on the bandwagon.
Doesn't it seem like we could use all this energy spent taking down a whacko "church" on a more substantial cause? The world has bigger problems folks.- gelicia, on 02/11/2008, -3/+9your problem isnt with scientology, or digg, but with people run news sites. remove digg, add cnn and sites that post news by a few instead of a lot of people, and then you will be happy. you can repay your thanks for my knowledge in crisp 100 dollar bills.
- SuspicionVandit, on 02/11/2008, -4/+2your mom is crisp
- TheWorm, on 02/11/2008, -7/+2No thanks, I've been on Digg for over 2 years, and I'm slowly watching it crumble into a place not about worthwhile tech news, but where people go to spam their cause. Believe me social news is much better, if used right, and a hundred stories a day about one cult taking on another cult isn't using social news correctly.
- SuspicionVandit, on 02/11/2008, -4/+2ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US.
- twertyto, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1Like you said you've been trying to ignore it so you couldn't possibly understand what is occuring. Before you comment read up. Unless you are a CoS insider trying to draw focus away from the issue. I'm watching you...

- nubnub, on 02/11/2008, -0/+5Anonymous does not oppose religion or the religion of Scientology. They oppose the CHRUCH, the organization, of scientology. For censoship, brainwashing, human rights violates. If you want to be a nazi go do it somewhere else.
- wolferz, on 02/11/2008, -5/+0And that is different from the censorship, brainwashing, and human rights violations at the hands of Christian organizations and churches... how?
Just curious...

- twertyto, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1For all the bad that Christianity can be assoicated with it has done far more good. Nothing is perfect, believers are human.
However the same can't be said for CoS. Far more bad has been done than good.

http://partyvan.info/index.php/Project_Chanology/R ... - candygirlss, on 02/11/2008, -11/+2Why are their faces covered and painted so they're unrecognizable? I just don't care, they're not hurting anyone, why can't they have their own religion? Shrug. The protest is weirder.
- Mexicore, on 02/11/2008, -2/+4Its not a religion.
- tyywebb, on 02/11/2008, -1/+2SPAI!!
- candygirlss, on 02/11/2008, -3/+0I see, ok. I'm not for opression. I don't agree with the organisation if the information isn't free and they don't tolerate other points of view, that's wrong. I'm a christian but don't believe in a god, I believe in good in mankind. Thanks for info RockGuitar. Sorry, the protest seems to be justified now and a good thing maybe.
- boombye, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Well you're not a Christian because you don't believe in God for one. And also, it cost money to learn what Scientology teaches.
- Gozmeranian, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1How ever sensible, your opinion is against the group thing and will probably be buried.
- altgeeky1, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1>Why are their faces covered and painted so they're unrecognizable?
Read up on the history of Scientology, and what they've done to silence their critics. They don't break your legs for revenge... they harass your EMPLOYER or FAMILY and even have planted things on people's computers. You'd have to be CRAZY to show your face, or drive to the protest (they take down license plates...). And yes, they ARE hurting lots of people - if you read about denying medical treatment to their victims you would know this.
Since you just joined Digg 2 days ago, I'm not sure if you're honestly trying to discuss the issue, or if you are part of the MASSIVE wave of new accounts trying to defuse the protest against COS. (If you are a real person and not a COS astroturfer, sorry.. just that they're trying to flood Digg and change it).- candygirlss, on 02/11/2008, -0/+0Sorry no, I don't know what COS is. I just wish people would tolerate other points of view a bit more sometimes. But scientology seems to ask money and don't seem to tolerate other points of view, I think that's wrong too. I kinda agree with the protest now that I read more about it. I'm a christian myself, I believe ppl want to do good usually, maybe I was being too naive. I'm sorry if I offended anyone >
- altgeeky1, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1I'm sure you did not offend anyone... besides, this is Digg... par for the course if you ever do :-)
We're all certainly entitled to our opinions, but CoS does some nasty ***** if you show up on their radar for exposing something... and they have a LOT of power inside political and media circles... sketchy stuff. Personally I don't care what people believe in, as long as they don't push it on others or act like the mafia. A person's home is their castle and they can do whatever they want, and I wish that was how the CoS worked.
- altgeeky1, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1I'm sure you did not offend anyone... besides, this is Digg... par for the course if you ever do :-)

Either candygirlss is trolling out of his/her ass or he/she is the stupidest person in all of America. (North and South)
I'm going with Option B for now...
