- roosevans, on 07/03/2008, -8/+98Apparently there are persons in authority within the Bush Administration that aren't afraid to be honest if the press finds them and ask questions. The Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen certainly didn't toe the Bush "party line" when he assesses the "stress" of waging war on three fronts. I hope his honesty doesn't cost him his assignment at the Pentagon. Remember Adm. William J. Fallon?

"Just write the check and hit the road, silly American, you serve US". Condaleezi apparently made a suggestion that the hardliners perhaps, pretty please with sugar on top, stop bulldozing Palestinian homes and building a whole new round of illegal settlements, and she was pretty much told to do the dishes and scrub the floor and STFU.
- Berkana, on 07/03/2008, -4/+63If war breaks out with Iran, the price of oil will go so damn high even the military won't be able to afford it.
- pintomp3, on 07/03/2008, -10/+67US to Israel: Don't get up. Let me get that for you.
- inactive, on 07/03/2008, -22/+71I'm with the Iranians on this one.
- justice7, on 07/03/2008, -6/+43Allow me to speculate a little.
The USA today announced that it signed a deal with Poland to place anti-missile batteries in its country. The USA has been selling this idea across Europe. They say, it is to counter the threat of Iran launching a nuclear missile attack at Europe. Russia; however, says that the USA is doing this to block missiles from Russia, kind of re-kindling the cold war.
So if Iran gives up its nuclear ambitions; what will the USA do about the missile shield? Its excuse of using Iran as a reason (when Russia says otherwise) really becomes a hard sell.
The USA has no choice now but to make sure Iran continues its nuclear ambitions (whether it is true or not, successful or not) the threat needs to be there.
I dont think the USA has a whole lot of intention on invading Iran. It is a no-win situation; and only serves the purpose of oil and further arms sales to the military -- which of course many speculate is the reason for the Iraq invasion in the first place. WMD was certainly not the real reason for the invasion.
Is money involved here, or is this a larger overall strategy the pentagon/white house is putting forward to combat the age old enemy of communist Russia and the rising red star from China?
Perhaps we're headed for an energy war, a war of resources. The black gold. - DiggasWAttitude, on 07/03/2008, -8/+35Buried for that and the fact that the IAEA said Iran doesn't have nukies nor are they pursuing them. The only ***** comes from Cheney's hardon for WWIII.
- InetRoadkill, on 07/04/2008, -10/+35The US could put a stop to all this by simply refusing to write Israel any more checks. Simply tell them "You want to run an apartheid state and behave like *****? Do it without US funds."

- inactive, on 07/03/2008, -0/+20US has been pushing the missile shield prior to nuclear issues, blaming it on Iran's missile program. Nukes is just more fuel, they'll go ahead with it any way.

- Import98, on 07/04/2008, -1/+19How about we try something different and stay the ***** out of other countries affairs. I mean, look how successful we are in Iraq, which, why have we been there for the past 6 years again?

- BluesFan, on 07/04/2008, -3/+14I'm beginning to wonder if people in the white house are deliberately trying to sink the united states. This would really damage the falling economy as it is.
Tell me why Israel is so important anyway,we give them nukes, we give them billions of dollars and we are the first ones to back them on almost every issue....so what if Iran can strike Israel or Europe let them take care of it. - raisputin3, on 07/04/2008, -19/+30Iran is not a threat to anyone. We should be having alks directly with them instead of somethng like the following:
Iran : "Hey, we hear you have some concerns about our Nuclear Program?"
USA :"I'm not talking to you, oh Germany, can you please tell Iran I am not talking to them"
Germany: "Hey Iran, the USA..."
Iran : "Yeah we heard, they are not talking to us. What are they 5?"
Germany: "Hey USA, Iran wants to know if you are 5?"
USA : "Hey...Umm...Oh Germany, could you please tell Iran that we are NOT 5, but we still aren't talking to them"
Germany: "Hey Iran..."
Iran : "Yeah yeah, we heard, the USA is 5 and can't hold a conversation like an adult"
Israel : "Oh USA..Iran is building a Nuclear bomb"
USA : "And...?"
Israel : "Umm..STOP Them. You owe us because of the holocaust, in fact you better to whatever we say whenever we say to do it, or we'll call you anti-semites"
USA : "*****, Oh Germany, can you tell Iran to quit making nuclear bombs or we will beat them up"
Germany: "Ach Nein! I am so tired of this childish crap. Oh Iran, the USA says quit building a nuclear bomb"
Iran : "Hey USA, we're building centrifuges so we can create ENERGY you dumbass"
USA : "Hey Germany, what'd they say, we're not talking to them so I couldn't hear.."
Germany: "They said they aren't making a bomb"
USA : "OK, thanks"
USA : "Israel, Iran says they are not making a bomb"
Israel : "But Yosef's brothers sisters daughters friends dads daughters retarded adopted stepson said they are, so it must be true"
USA : "Can't fault the logic in that"
USA : " Germany, please tell Iran to quit building their bomb, we have powerful evidence that proves they are"
Germany : "Jesus Christ, will this ever end? Iran, the USA says...."
Iran : Yeah yeah we heard they say they have evidence...Hey USA! Piss Off, that evidence is ***** and you know it"
USA : "Hey Israel, Iran says that your brothers mothers sisters whatever it was retarded adopted stepson is full of it and doesn't know *****"
Israel : "That's because they want to kill all the jews, they are anti-semites over there, remember the Holocaust? You are either with us or against us USA, what is it?:
USA : "Hey Germannnnny...."
Germany: "What now?"
USA : "Tell Iran that we might, maybe will, perhaps, are thinking about, just maybe perhaps fighting them if they don't stop building a nuclear bomb"
Germany: "WTF have we goten ourselves into?...Iran, The USA says if you don't do what they say, they are considering fighting you"
Iran : "Go ahead bitches!"
Germany: "Hey USA, Iran says 'Go Ahead Bitches!'"
USA : "WTFBBQ?"
USA : "Hey Israel, Iran isn't scared of our threats"
Israel : "AAAHHHHH AAHHHHHHH KILL EM KILL EM, they aren't Jews, they must DIE DIE DIE because they hate us and because God gave us all of this land and we must reclaim it"
USA : "ok ok ok, whatever you say Israel, you're the boss" - inactive, on 07/03/2008, -7/+18Right, genius.
Iran has nukes just like Iraq had WMDs.
Didn't you idiots get a clue after the WMD lies?
The Bush administration/right wing extremists LIE about Irans capabilities in an attempt to drum up support for military action.
Try to pay attention. - Carburetor, on 07/04/2008, -9/+19I know that since some inferior rednecks from stormfront and others took over Digg , any comment that doesn't bashing Israel
or the Jewish people getting dugged down by them, but I'll write it anyway:
Israel is a freaking small country, hardly seen in the map, it's size is like a pixel on the global map!
Israel is not happy fighting against other countries, considering the casualties from both sides (And if you know about Israel enough, not from Al-Jaseera ,you know how far it can go, in order to save it's civilian/solder's life.
Iran is posing a big threat for us,and the rest of the western world, not because they are Muslims that want to have a nuclear bomb (like Pakistan for instance), but because their leaders are RADICAL Muslims, funding global terror, and we can't accept the idea, that radical terrorist leaders that threats Israel daily will have such a deadly weapon.
Iran attacks Israel since the 70's, by funding Hezbullah, Hamas, and other inhumane terrorist organizations, it's time to put an end to these brutal attacks.
What Israel ever done to Iran?
Did you know that until the 70's, before the Islamic revolution in Iran, the two countries had a tight relationships?
And if the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the cause, why Iran is saying nothing about the REAL genocide in Sudan?
If Iran will have such a weapon, even if you hate the state of Israel or what it represents, you know they'll use it for sure.
Some of you may want to see that happen, but even if you do, think what will happen right after a nuclear attack on Israel,
we all know it won't be pretty.
Iran doesn't need a nuclear weapon, no one threats them, they want to have it only for one cause.
Since we see this like another raising Hitler, we won't accept another holocaust.
I just hope one day we all will get a long. - yosserhughes, on 07/04/2008, -0/+10I hope everyone watches these videos.
Good job. 10/10 - pintomp3, on 07/04/2008, -9/+18but not giving them billions of US taxpayer dollars would be anti-semitic.
- solid12345, on 07/04/2008, -1/+10Iranians don't even like Arabs and the feeling is mutual, Iran could care less about the Palestinians they just want to be the new dominant power in the region.
- aimhelix, on 07/04/2008, -4/+13I say if Israel wants to attack IRAN, then do it... but USA needs to stay out of it. USA needs to stop being Israel's bitch and if they wanna pick the fight, then let them finish it. If they win, good for them. If they get wiped out, then they'll finally STFU.
- Infinite84, on 07/04/2008, -8/+17Cause the Zionists & their lobby control Washington
- k2jones, on 07/04/2008, -2/+11well said
- InetRoadkill, on 07/04/2008, -8/+16In short, there are enough people who believe that if we don't provide unconditional support to Israel, God will frown on us heavily when the second coming of Jeebus takes place and we'll all go to hell. Chalk this up to religious fanaticism. Unfortunately, these fanatics have a very powerful lobby in the form of AIPAC.
- rugabug, on 07/04/2008, -1/+9Saying the worst is a very big stretch.
Here is a list of bigger human rights violators than Israel.

regardless of what you call it, why does the american taxpayer have to pay for it? - BESTenemy, on 07/04/2008, -1/+8 There are many geopolitical reasons. You named one of them.
Oil leverages politics, it also leverages economies. Those that don't get access to it, don't get to develop as fast as they otherwise could. Germany and Japan were kept from becoming industrial superpowers quite successfully though their removal from the oil wells of Saudi Arabia by the European and North American communities in 1900-1950.
Today the new economic threats are emerging markets in China and India, but both of those are capable of defending themselves quite well. Both countries have nuclear arsenal.
The best way to have leverage over their rate of development is through the same good old control over the places that they get the oil from. Russia's is a subject of interest, but is too well armed and independently minded to be bullied around. At the same time, smaller, but still significant oil producers such as Iraq and Iran can be attacked, as they possess relatively little in terms of defense. Attacking them puts a strain on Asian markets indirectly, delaying their competitive progression. We know we can't compete with either one of them in terms of labor and overall production costs. We can't surpass them in an open trade environment, so we have to influence them... if not controlling, then at least being able to profit from their development.
The reason Chinese goods are dirt cheap is because they're willing underbid when setting the price. They trade goods for oil. They send the goods here, we send the dollars there and they take the dollar to OPEC members that use petrodollar. Since the key interest here is energy, and the currency controlling the energy is issued by the US, we get to set terms of trade to our advantage. We contribute a tiny portion of our transactions subsidizing Saudis in form of weapons that keeps them secure in an unstable Middle Eastern world. They return the favor by leading the petrodollar policy of OPEC nations.
Every so often an OPEC member chooses to dump the dollar, then we inject liquidity into domestic markets to compensate for spike in abundance of dollars in the foreign trade. At the same time we ship the troops over to send a message to other potential wannabe renegades. The message is: "If you don't trade in USD, you're the enemy."
Not everyone can be attacked directly. Those we cannot attack, we leverage economically. The geopolitical campaign is intertwined. There is no single reason for anything in it. It's a system of power distribution. The goal of every nation is to develop while staying uninhibited. Unfortunately, that often means inhibiting those that might present competition. - kingmanic, on 07/04/2008, -0/+7I think it's less "Jewish conspiracy" and more "We're afraid of the fanatical theocracy so we'll back this fanatical democracy".
- Landlocked, on 07/04/2008, -4/+11Israel want us to do their dirty work for them. Why the hell did we sell (with the record foreign $$ aid that we give them) missiles and jets?

My favorite part is
Iran: "Go ahead bitches" - SpinningHead, on 07/04/2008, -4/+9I know you're being sarcastic, but Ive always found it strange that people ignore the fact that antisemitism also refers to bigotry against Arab peoples.
- Hangly, on 07/05/2008, -0/+5"The Iranian government want's to destroy Israel. I suppose you are for that?"
I should prefer Israel to Iran why again?
***** Israel. At least Iran isn't trying to ignite a world war. - inactive, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5Your comment has me confused. It seems like you are going for the Arab joke, but then you veer towards it not being a joke.
In the end, I was only able to chuckle... - humptyz, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5The Bush administration cares nothing about America. They're a bunch of corporate thugs who only care about how much money they can rape out of the country.
- iPsyko, on 07/04/2008, -4/+9Wow, what the *****.
- mmilton, on 07/04/2008, -1/+6Agreed. Why can't we stop giving them billions? Will their country fail without our help? Let them be self sufficient and let's use the billions for our own problems. Congress, stop giving Israel money now!!!!
- kosser, on 07/04/2008, -2/+7Israel and united states are like 2 peas in a pot. white house is just getting us ready for when we start up this war and have an excuse to get in it. if we have a hand in Iran being invaded say hello to $7 gas and pretty much the collapse of our economy due to the over funding it will take to be in such a debacle.
- frisk415, on 07/04/2008, -1/+6Ummhhh.......I don't get your point with that last little comment. And "more examples cant be bothered right now to state" is not viable evidence for your argument that "jews do control the world."
While Israel does influence the US's foreign policy, the idea that the US is Israel's "lap dog" is fallacy. Let's look at it in basic terms:
Israel= 7,000,000 people (if that.)
US= 300,000,000 people.
Israel= A powerful economy and military.
US= A WAY more ***** powerful economy and military.
Israel is our only ally in the middle-east- where U.S. interests are strong. Of course they are going to hold disproportionate sway with US policies. But America is too ***** big, I repeat, too ***** big, and has its hands in too many places- militarily, politically, and economically, for Israel to have as much influence over its policies as conspiracy theorists believe (and many diggers at that.) If anything, the United States isn't Israel's bitch, the world is the United State's bitch. And corporate leaders and rich politicians have turned Americans (and everyone else) into THEIR bitch. So, in conclusion, rich, white, corporate ***** (such as those who decided to invade Iraq) run *****. Not "the Jews." (even though some of them happen to be Jewish on paper.) Real Jews don't stand for that *****. - inactive, on 07/04/2008, -2/+7Can somebody give me the real reasons why the US supports Israel? Brief and in point form if you please. There is so much crap floating around teh intertubes. Thanks. ;)
