- bepart, on 07/18/2008, -12/+46The kid was imprisoned, beaten to the point of almost losing consciousness and smashed with the butt of a gun by soldiers. His "crime" was allegedly throwing stones at the separation wall (the kid rejects this accusation). I don't think Israel did these because Israel doesn't have a choice
- inactive, on 07/18/2008, -8/+37@4Christ...you are a moron..
- cutchyacokov, on 07/18/2008, -6/+26WTF are you talking about? I don't think there is a single coherent thought in that rant.
- Poovey, on 07/18/2008, -14/+34Maybe,Because Israeli children don't strap bombs on their back and run into an ice cream parlor. Maybe they should ask the question 'How does the Palestinian Authority treat it's detainees under the age of 18?'
- arjie, on 07/18/2008, -15/+33Since every Israel-Palestine conflict descends into meaningless name-calling on digg within a few minutes, I thought I'd try to provide a few facts. I mean, everyone speaks of thousands of Israeli citizens killed by rocket attacks all of the time. So here we go, statistics from B'Tselem, an Israeli human rights group. http://www.btselem.org/english/statistics/Casualti ...
It is sad that Israelis can infringe on the human rights of other people, especially after the Jewish community suffered so much during the Holocaust. Surely they must have taken some lessons away from that. - Hetman, on 07/18/2008, -11/+28I think it is the holy land. It seems to cause people to become murderous criminals regardless if you are Christian, Jewish, or muslim.
- SaladCactusKing, on 07/18/2008, -21/+38Funny how Digg completely ignores the prisoner swap from a couple days ago. You really have selective memory when it comes to vilifying people. But, hey, let's not talk about the "hero of Lebanon" who bashed a 4 year old girl's head into a rock multiple times!
- futility, on 07/19/2008, -7/+24Why is it that when a thread like this comes along everyone bitches out Israel, and then when people remind others that the Palestinian government that is in charge right now were using suicide bombs to kill Israeli citizens, they get dug down.
Oh yeah, because most everyone here hasn't a clue what they're talking about...
Hamas.. the organization running Palestine is a terrorist organization. Not only that, but they're doing a crappy job running the country because you can't govern effectively on promises of martyrdom. - PuterPrsn, on 07/18/2008, -40/+56When Palestinians send their children out with bombs, encourage them to throw rocks and kill, cripple, or maim every Israeli they can, how can they expect them to be treated? Both sides have done wrong in many ways over many years, but with one side asking for the ability to live side by side in peace, and the other insisting on anhialating the other... well, sorry, I just can't feel a lot of pity for the side that has nothing but death on it's mind.
If the surrounding Muslim countries are so het up and bothered, why don't they simply take down their border walls and funnel some of their money into the area and help them out? But no, they don't. They put up even stronger walls, and they point at the Israelis as the bad guys. Great brothers! - inactive, on 07/18/2008, -4/+20I think you had better reread the Bible and take a history class.
- unyuzyall, on 07/18/2008, -3/+18They crush their skulls with rifle butts after murdering their parents in front of them.
- inactive, on 07/18/2008, -13/+28Maybe the numbers would be more even if the israelis also used their children as walking bombs?
PS: In israeli prison, not only are you provided free medical care, but you also can earn a degree. Can you say the same about the palestinian prisons? - medfreak, on 07/18/2008, -12/+26I kept reading until this:
"the original Jewish settlers that bought desert land at market price"
Once a person brings in the words "Bought" and "desert" it only helps to prove profound ignorance. The typical "we bought an empty desert and made it into heaven" myth. Most of northern Palestine is very fertile agricultural land that was thriving for many many centuries, if not millenniums, and not just after the Jews "bought" it. It is as far from a desert as you can get. Let alone the majority of the land of what is now called "Israel" is taken in a a hostile confiscation / occupation. In fact many Palestinian refugees still carry to this day deeds with proof of ownership. - fadeout, on 07/18/2008, -10/+24Well then maybe their parents should stop raising them as walking bomb delivery systems.
- pencilneck, on 07/18/2008, -18/+31Never forget who danced in the streets. Act like animals, then be treated like animals.
- inactive, on 07/18/2008, -14/+27What choice do Palestinians have when Israelis insist on denying them basic human rights?
- ArmyOfFluoride, on 07/18/2008, -5/+17Holy ***** you're insane!
- poidh, on 07/18/2008, -15/+27Palestinian children are not allowed a childhood? Absolutely. They are fed with anti-Jew and anti-infidel hatred from the first moment and are taught that their existence is solely for the reason of joining the jihad. Some childhood.
- laterthandawn, on 07/18/2008, -20/+32The issue is so much more profound and complicated than that, it's ridiculous. I am no religious Zionist, and I do not excuse some of the horrible things Israel has done -- not at all -- but please Diggers, really learn your history lessons about the Middle East...the effect of European imperialism 100 years ago, the original Jewish settlers that bought desert land at market price, the ensuing wars and campaigns to get them thrown out, the attempts at reconciliation that were denied, the 1960s attacks that led to the non-Israeli provoked war, and so on -- before you have knee-jerk reactions against Israel as though it were the only land of the ruthless.
And, Americans, if you have a problem with Israel, you should be working five times as hard at getting your own house in order. The ripple effect from a re-righted and just America would profoundly and positively effect conflicts the world over, including in the Middle East. Finger pointing and holier-than-thou statements on social news sites do little to fix any problem. People in glass houses...
All that said, it's a tragedy and a grotesquery that children are brought into this (or any) conflict on both sides, and no one is without blame in this matter -- Israel, too, needs to get its house in order. - inactive, on 07/18/2008, -13/+25I certain treating an 11 year old with a bomb strapped to his torso as a child instead of an adult is going to help a whole lot.
- SaladCactusKing, on 07/18/2008, -18/+29http://digg.com/world_news/Samir_Kuntar_Hero_or_Ch ... 222 Diggs and no front page.
There is a clear anti Israel bias on this website. - Pake, on 07/19/2008, -6/+16Extremely bias writer when you look at all his articles. He's never wrote an article pointing out the problems Palestinians have created and only attacks Israel. People might bitch that they want to see the other side of the coin, but personally, I like my news from people who present both sides as equally as possible.
- bepart, on 07/19/2008, -1/+11do you believe a kid should be imprisoned and tortured because he allegedly (not proven) has thrown stones at a wall?
- rearlgrant, on 07/18/2008, -6/+16The Flying Spaghetti Monster has shown us proof of his tasty presence by demonstrating how stupid we sound when we don't believe in him.
rAmen - rearlgrant, on 07/18/2008, -3/+12I once heard Ali Mazuri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Mazuri) speak about how Africans have a duty to end oppression on this planet b/c they know the consequences of it. That speech has never left my mind.
Yet it seems the human brain only cares for retribution, not lessons learned. Very sad. - DisruptionFL, on 07/18/2008, -10/+19Oh yea, that 14 year old with the Ak47, he's innocent.
- abran1984, on 07/18/2008, -15/+24When they stop sending kids with bombs, Israel should stop imprisoning them.
- grantino9, on 07/18/2008, -4/+13Eh, If you have a fair mind you have to take anything Seth Freedman says about the Middle East or Jews with a HUGH effin grain of salt.
- poprocksandsoda, on 07/18/2008, -8/+16This would be a good explanation as to why they are getting arrested:

- hardcorelilmiss, on 07/18/2008, -8/+16The beating should not have happened. However, palestinian youths do pose a serious threat to israeli citizens. Young palestinians have frequently carried out homicide bombings within Israel murdering innocent bystanders.
- SaladCactusKing, on 07/18/2008, -4/+12-4 Diggs, but no responses.
How about making your argument instead of clicking thumbs down until it goes away ,you cowards? - zeffy5, on 07/18/2008, -2/+10The nation known as "Israel" is absolutely not the Israel of the Bible.
In Romans 9 - "not all who are descended from Israel are Israel."
Paul continues to explain how Israel is no longer the ethnic people of Israel, in Romans 10 and 11 he talks about how the unfaithful branches of Israel have been cut off and now others have been grafted in.
Biblical Israel is not an ethnic people, it is those who hear and believe the Word of God.
Jesus called us to love people, not to love possessions and land. If Israel were God's people they would not live as they do.
Here is what God has to say about Israel in Hosea:
"Do not rejoice, O Israel; do not be jubilant like the other nations. For you have been unfaithful to your God; you love the wages of a prostitute at every threshing floor."
You should really take a look into what the Bible ACTUALLY says regarding Israel... Try to gain an understanding of it. In my opinion your comment does not reflect an understanding of what Jesus taught. - 140Suffolk, on 07/19/2008, -0/+7Knocked down houses w/ occupants in them? Cite please.
Shoot kids throwing stones? Oh well.
And you object to the TYPE of weapons that Israel uses to defend itself? Yes, you hate it when they fight back, don't you? It would be so much easier if Israelis would just line up and be killed.
It's simple -- stop shooting rockets, stop sending suicide bombers, stop sending suicide bus-drivers and back-hoe drivers....and there would be no violence. - SaladCactusKing, on 07/18/2008, -0/+7I don't live in Israel. I live in California. I did spend a month there though, and I was actually pretty shocked that the Israeli media was probably the harshest critic of Israel. Like, harsher than the Guardian UK harsh. People can't beat up like others like they can themselves, it seems.
- Hockey13, on 07/18/2008, -1/+8Yeh, because there's never been a story before with 222 Diggs that didn't make the front page. Perhaps people buried it because they found the article to be old news, or it's people on the other side who bury ***** just because they're blindly anti-Israeli.
Hate to say it, guy, but everyone else in the world without a vested stake in this conflict really doesn't see a difference between the blind obedience to Israel and the blind obedience to Palestine. - inactive, on 07/19/2008, -7/+14All you Americans whining about Israel being on Palestinian land, please get off Native American land first. The stench of hypocrisy is offensive.
- duffman03, on 07/18/2008, -3/+10http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_suicide_bombers ...
- inactive, on 07/18/2008, -11/+18Go to Israel and you'll hear that ***** all day.
That is the argument for Israel: "God says so". - Hockey13, on 07/18/2008, -3/+10"Palestinians killed by Palestinians for suspected collaboration with Israel: 120."
It must suck ass to be a Palestinian right now. Getting ***** from all sides and everyone blames you, yet all you did was come out of a geographically unfortunate vagina. - kooft, on 07/18/2008, -11/+17"When Palestinians send their children out..."
You've failed at basic logic. Considering there are millions of Palestinians if all the children were being armed and sent to murder Israeli's we'd be seeing thousands of kids attacking daily. Yet we don't. This indicates that there is a small minority that behaves in this manner but the common Palestinian doesn't.
By punishing _all_ Palestinians you are punishing the innocent as well as the guilty and that is a crime known as collective punishment. It's Israel's obligation to restrict their legitimate activities to the guilty parties. - MN1962, on 07/19/2008, -3/+9What really gets to me is that the Israelis want to be treated well and cry about the bombings when they are treating the Palestinians inside and outside of Israel like garbage. If anyone did what they are doing to Australians, Americans, British, ect I'm sure the people there, me included, would fight them way more intensely than what Hamas, Fatah, do. To be honest, I am amazed at their restraint. If you think the worst they can do is suicide bombings and unguided missiles then I think you are not thinking. What you would do if your home was invaded and taken from you?
- xs11ax, on 07/19/2008, -1/+7did you read the article?
a 14 year old kid was accused but not proven to have thrown stones at a wall. he was then beaten and imprisoned without legal help.
where are the bombs in this?
***** - monsieurginger, on 07/18/2008, -3/+9Oh, oh! I better hide my horns when I'm around you.
