- dkapuchino, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1If it weren't for the quick and brave response of an armed civilian, this would have ended like the last bulldozer attack - 3 people dead, out of which 2 women, one of them was in her car with HER BABY, as the bulldozer flipped the car over killing the mother.

They certainly deserve fair treatment when they hijack contsruction vehicles and run over civilians on the street. Israel may abuse Palestinian captives, but they don't run over civilians with tanks. Fu**in animals.

  - dkapuchino, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1No they don't. They use bulldozers to destroy buildings which are used by terrorists to launch attacks, and they give much notice before doing so.
    Trust me. If you had a bulldozer, and someone was firing at you, using a neighboring building for shelter, you wouldn't think twice before you'd take down that building. Only difference? You wouldn't even give warning to the people inside the building like Israel does.
UniqueJewelry, on 07/22/2008, -9/+4East Jerusalem was captured by Israel in 1967 along with the West Bank. The 208,000 Palestinians who live there are not Israeli citizens but carry Israeli ID cards that allow them freedom of movement throughout Israel, unlike West Bank Palestinians.

Obama, speaking from Jordan hours before he is to arrive in Israel, deplored it as "a reminder of what Israelis have courageously lived with on a daily basis for far too long."
"I will always support Israel in confronting terrorism and pursuing everlasting peace and security," Obama said.

What about what Palestinians have lived with on a daily basis for far too long; no country, no freedom, no future. Maybe his brother was tortured, shot by Israeli soldiers and left in the street to die...What would you do in his place?
- decafmatan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+10I certainly wouldn't be cowardly enough to go after innocent civilians. Why can't these idiots try to take on the IDF or the police? Instead they rather run over women and children, because it is all they are able to do. Cowards.

  2. As for being Israeli citizens - 5% of them are. The others were permitted to apply for Israeli citizenship, provided they met the requirements for naturalization -- such as swearing allegiance to Israel and renouncing all other citizenships -- which most of them refused to do. I can understand that. But being that they were Jordanians, why don't they have Jordanian citizenship?

  That's just plain bigoted hate.
  1. Once the Israelis have you captured and they are "torturing" you (Torture is forbidden by Israeli law, but some moderate physical pressure is permitted in case of "ticking bombs" - stopping a terrorist act that is in motion), you won't be shot or killed. That happened once to two palestinains terrorists after they hijacked a bus, and heads flew over it.
  2. Israeli soldiers also don't shoot you and leave you to die. Israeli hospitals are filled with Palestinian combatants. After battles, if they are still alive, they get better treatment than they would in any other Arab country. If it was the other way around however...
  3. Either way, nothing justifies the delibirate attacks on women and children. Military targets might be "legit". Justifiying acts of violence against civilians, women and children is both sick and vile.

I'm pretty sure the Palestines can leave if they choose.

    I don't get.. Israel has peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan. They never asked for the land back?

Story about yet again another palestinian terrorist killing or attempting to kill women and children? Nobody cares.

I think it's safe to say we all are opposed to the harming of civilians, but at least don't try and claim you're unbiased when you shout and favorite one thing and bury the other as "zionist propaganda"
