*le sigh* - d3lta, on 08/18/2008, -0/+4After pissing almost everyone off in his nine year tenure as head of state, I don't think Musharraf will have too many friends as he steps down. But as with most corrupt dictators, I predict he will live out the rest of his days in luxurious exile probably in the UAE (or Dubai more specifically) or Saudi Arabia.
- Rubab, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3looks like he will be in exile but he will have to face the Pakistani nation yet..
- zimsters, on 08/18/2008, -2/+2"where he basically blamed everyone else for the problems in the country" quite biased description of the article no? Some people may say he gave a hero's speech. Should stick to summarizing the article rather than poisoning a non-biased news article with your personal opinion.
- geekchic, on 08/18/2008, -1/+6I was actually listening to his speech live on the TV (with a very poor translator), and it was quite clear that he basically blamed everyone else for all the problems in the country - and he had only ever done wonderful and glorious things.
He even said that the army was fantastic, when it is generally acknowledged to be one of the most corrupt organisations in the country - even worse than the politicians, which takes some doing.- ssn697, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3See there? He is going out on top!
He just couldn't see any way he could improve on his already stellar performance, so he is retiring ;-)

Sounds like somebody can't handle being disagreed with. Perhaps listening to the speech would be a good idea.
