- rot13ubercrypto, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5A few years ago, I was driving through central Spain with my girlfriend on a straight two-lane per-direction highway South of Madrid. The roadways were raised, with a deep ditch in between. At one point I saw a dust/smoke cloud on the opposite roadway, and assumed it was some farmer kicking up dust on the dry path next to the highway, but it turned out to be a minivan madly careening back and forth over his two lanes.
He went out of control on two wheels, then into the ditch in the middle, came right at us, and as I hit the gas, corkscrewed diagonally over us (!) at about 10 feet of altitude, and did 2-3 spins mid-air. In my rear-view window I could see him go over both lanes on my side and land on the front left windshield support on a patch of dirt, then flip a few more times before coming to a rest. My only reaction was "whoah." Took me a sec to slam on the brakes and look for a first aid kit (which I of course couldn't find.)
A bunch of other people and I ran towards the car, and, I kid you not, the driver's door dropped open, and the guy fell out and stumbled towards us, while we were yelling for him to get away get away, the tank's gonna explode. He had fallen asleep at the wheel and suffered a minor (!) cut above his eye, that was all. There's my most insane wreck ever... - rglover, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Not you, the "token black girl." It just gets obnoxious when someone gets overzealous about the use of their race in a sentence, story, whatever. If it wasn't used in a derogatory sense, then don't get worked up over it.
