- BigBenKlingon, on 11/14/2007, -30/+973The only thing I see supporting troops nowadays are carbon fiber prosthetics.
Also, according to statistics, at least one of the guys in this slideshow will be homeless in the coming years.
But keep buying those SUVs and plastering a Chinesse made yellow flag on em America! - Kwashiorkor, on 11/14/2007, -42/+917"Here, have a t-shirt." I hope he remembers what he saw...
- Napoleone, on 11/14/2007, -21/+797If you could bottle whatever helps that man sleep at night you'd be an overnight millionaire.

- DeadRooster, on 11/13/2007, -21/+451It makes me sick to think that if Giuliani is elected president, we will see even more...
- jogleby, on 11/13/2007, -20/+415This makes me sad. I can't imagine the horrors those people went through. It makes me sad that president can even look those veterans in the face after he sent them to war and then cut their benefits.

- Malarie, on 11/14/2007, -53/+385May these brave souls be at piece one day.
***** You Mr Bush. - Anthem26, on 11/14/2007, -10/+295"They wrote in the old days that it is sweet and fitting to die for one's country. But in modern war, there is nothing sweet nor fitting in your dying. You will die like a dog for no good reason." -Ernest Hemmingway
- Dumbledorito, on 11/13/2007, -27/+301Jeeze. How could he not break down after seeing the results of his actions? Does he have no conscience whatsoever?
Bush has no soul. - airencracken, on 11/13/2007, -22/+223That was moving. I'm not afraid to admit that it brought tears to my face to see what those poor men had been through.
How can that man we call our President not be crying?
Bastard. - digichris, on 11/13/2007, -43/+236No - pictures of these disfigured men standing next to the person that sent them into harms way, is gross.
- GuiBRZ, on 05/15/2008, -23/+194War sucks. Thanks Bush. I'm sure their families feel the same way.
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -37/+203I'm sure Bush thinks they'll be whole again once they get to heaven.
- aburd, on 11/13/2007, -112/+257You know, I don't like Bush. Really I don't, but these people have sacrificed as nearly as much as they possibly can for their country . Bush went to visit them because he should. Some of them looked legitimately thrilled to see him.
To use this moment of joy from these tortured souls' lives in order to score a cheap shot against Bush is just gross. Honestly, this is the guy you are using to get a cheap laugh:

- cl2yp71c, on 11/13/2007, -16/+128I am baffled as to how he can look them in the eyes.
- mayonnaiseparty, on 11/13/2007, -12/+117*****, that's hard to look at.
- Subvexer, on 11/13/2007, -17/+121These guys were within stabbing distance.
- grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, on 11/13/2007, -44/+133Bush, like his father and his grandfather before him, are brothers of the Order of Skull and Bones. 'The Brotherhood of Death'. A secret society whose members pride themselves on being soulless.
http://preview.tinyurl.com/2ugvfr - NSMike, on 11/13/2007, -7/+92I seriously hope the use of "piece" over "peace" was not intentional.
- MisterWonderful, on 11/12/2007, -11/+93Picture 11 pretty much defines this man's presidency.
- Nougat, on 11/13/2007, -10/+91When's the last time you heard about entire industrial sectors bathing in profit due to an increase in fires that need to be put out?
- soccerman90, on 11/13/2007, -10/+91I havent been physically hurt in the war and i would never shake that bastards hand. How do they do it?
- hcnelson, on 11/13/2007, -2/+73To be fair I think Bush was receiving the t-shirt. I thought the same thing at first too, though.
- danconia, on 11/13/2007, -12/+78What kind of sick bastard can look at this sort of stuff, even knowing that on the Iraqi side things are 100x worse, and yet still push so hard for this war so that the military industrial complex can keep making money? In fact the majority of Congress should be asking themselves this. I feel so bad for these soldiers because you know they must think twice about their mission in Iraq but once you've been physically and mentally injured this badly then you will cling on for dear life to the premise that your actions, and sacrifice, was morally justifiable.
Don't forget the people who push the hardest for these wars are the same ones who don't want you to see these sorts of pictures. They know if the public all really saw what war was like they'd never support another conventional one ever again. - christopheles, on 11/14/2007, -7/+73Liquor?
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -15/+79Why did none of those vets spit in his face, or did they take those pics down?
- Couchy, on 11/13/2007, -8/+71I would have rammed my metal foot straight up his ass.
- mokayogi, on 11/14/2007, -8/+69I didn't think you could bottle a hellish soul.
- techmaster, on 11/14/2007, -15/+74"I sent thousands of Americans into Iraq to get burned and dismembered, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt."
- procopio, on 11/13/2007, -8/+67I'm not laughing. Bush is the one w/ the grin smile on his face.
- wisammy, on 11/13/2007, -8/+66what kind of weapon was used to inflict those horrific burns on some of those young men?
So horrific. I will pray for those boys. - mass922, on 11/13/2007, -12/+69This is the first thing I have ever seen on the Internet that has made me tear up.
Wow.
Picture 11 is the worst thing I have seen in a while.
Wow, Bush.
:'(
: - gmprunner, on 11/12/2007, -19/+74Don't drag religion into this, lets stay focused.
- khatarnaak, on 11/13/2007, -5/+52Bush dragged religion into it when he said:
"I’m driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, “George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.” And I did, and then God would tell me, “George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …” And I did. And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me, “Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East.” And by God I’m gonna do it.’”"

- Spoomeister, on 11/13/2007, -6/+50It's called oil. You can bottle it. If you have enough, it does make you an overnight millionaire.
- NSMike, on 11/12/2007, -4/+48I'm NOT defending Bush or his choices.
But I remember a story Phyllis Diller told once.
She and Bob Hope were visiting the injured soldiers, many of whom were just as injured as the ones in this set of photos. Phyllis said she started crying looking at one young man who had lost both legs above the knee. Bob took her aside and said, "Please, I know this is hard to look at, but try to keep your emotions in check. That's not what we're here for."
And he was right. Those guys probably want no more sympathy for their situation than you would.
That doesn't excuse the terrible decisions that were made that led to these young men getting injured. That doesn't excuse the shameless photo op. And since Bush isn't there to entertain, like Bob Hope and Phyllis Diller, It sort-of pulls that excuse out from under him too. But the last thing those guys want is to be reminded of what has happened to them and how tragic it is. They want to start adapting, and moving on.
Now, what he did AFTER that meeting would be more telling. We don't have that story, though. - civdis24, on 11/12/2007, -7/+48This makes me sad, then angry, then sick. ***** these senseless wars! The worst part is that I fear these soldiers are now scarred for life for nothing. Others died for nothing. Many more survived but are likely mentally scarred (PTSD). And what does our government do in return? Put them in the streets.
- HonestAbe, on 11/13/2007, -3/+44You're the guy with his face burned off. Giving the president a shirt. For burning your face.
- dclowd9901, on 11/12/2007, -12/+53It's almost a cruel joke for him to be there amongst those poor vets.
- trogdor282, on 11/13/2007, -7/+47Riiight, and I suppose The Diary of Anne Frank is a cheap shot against Hitler?
/godwin - arbulus, on 11/13/2007, -5/+43No, you're comparison doesn't make sense.
Say the mayor set fires around town, in especially difficult places like tire factories and oil refineries, just so he would have an excuse to send the firefighters to put out a fire. The reason the mayor did this: he has friends who would profit like crazy from rebuilding and reconstruction of these facilities, and he can make sure they are the ones who are hired to do that rebuilding. But he doesn't tell the public about that. He lies to the media and says that there's a gang war in town and that the Bloods are starting fires to show how much they hate the city. However, in the process, the mayor ends up killing most of the employees of these factories and refineries by starting the fires and in the process of trying to put out the fires, many firefighters are horribly injured or disfigured.
That is the accurate analogy. - inactive, on 11/12/2007, -9/+46And Hilary and Obama won't pull the troops out either.
- sickoo, on 11/12/2007, -55/+90Reckless cruel person ever.
- bethehammer, on 11/12/2007, -9/+44Calling the injured and wounded soldiers 'horrors' is about as ***** as you can be. Seriously people what the hell did you think war was? Did you think it was like some 1960's propaganda film? like John Wayne movies? War is hell, nothing less - I'm glad this slide show made it to digg, now we will all know what our fate is when the next president, regardless of party, invades Iran.
