Over half a million telephone spying requests in the UK
news.bbc.co.uk — More than 500,000 official "spying" requests for private communications data such as telephone records were made last year, a report says. A separate report criticises local authorities for using powers to target minor offences such as fly-tipping.

- jei731, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2UK and british authorities are leading the world in the development of a perfect surveillance state, all the while not managing to curb teen violence or rampant drug trade in the UK. One can only wonder, what it is that they are spying, because for certain it is not having much effect on UK crime. Maybe the NSA spybase in UK should help better analyze the intercepts?
