This man holds an incredible amount of power and access to a decent sum of wealth. Anyone in that position would have easy access to even the most archaic satellite communication. This being said, why are we seeing audio tapes and craptastic grainy video that looks like it was taken on a vhs in the 90's? The taliban use cellphones to communicate, have an excellent understanding of guerrilla tactics, and are definitely capable of using networked communication arrays (also known as the internet).
With this at ones disposal, and all of the 15 year olds in America posting better quality youtube videos, what would possess one to think that these recordings are legitimate? Sure they might have had a good stock pile of supplies but it is hardly a procedure without risks.
