Orson Scott Card Debunks Global Warming and 'Hockey Stick' Hoaxes
ldsmag.com — It is time for us to laugh at the ideologues who try to pretend that any criticism of Global Warming alarmism is idiotic and unscientific. They are the ones who ignore the data; they are the ones who believe on faith alone, without evidence; and, most important, they are the ones who are trying to stifle the opposition without answering it.

- Iconoclast25, on 11/07/2007, -2/+12Definitely more . . . he is a very intelligent and articulate individual.
- drachemorder, on 12/07/2007, -1/+13The difference is that Orson Scott Card has written books that people actually want to read.
- ashok, on 12/07/2007, -1/+15If you are interested in other links regarding global warming, here's Freeman Dyson's take about how people are making too much of a fuss about it:

Here's Michael Crichton's take on politics and science sometimes converging too easily, and why that's a problem:
http://www.michaelcrichton.net/essay-stateoffear-w ...- drachemorder, on 12/07/2007, -2/+9I loved Crichton's article. Although I'm sure he'd disagree with me, I can think of at least one other major scientific theory I'd place in the same category as eugenics and global warming...
- EdgarVerona, on 12/08/2007, -6/+3Here's my take: Michael Crichton and Orson Scott Card are novelists. They're also nutcases. Why someone would consider them to be experts on scientific subjects boggles the mind.
- thotpoizn, on 12/09/2007, -0/+6Here's my take on your take: you didn't bother to read the article, and your opinion is basically a knee-jerk reaction. Had you read the article, you would know that he references the work of various subject matter experts, and provides the relevant background information so that skeptics such as yourself can examine the math and verify the claims independently. You know, kind of like the scientific method or something.
- tradwolley, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1So is a novelist more or less qualified to make claims than a career politician, such as Al Gore.
- Kythas, on 12/07/2007, -2/+10Unfortunately, this'll never hit the front page because of the Church of Global Warming faithful.
- dan222555, on 12/08/2007, -2/+6Best article I've read on the subject in a while. Shame it will never make it anywhere on Digg...
- ashok, on 12/08/2007, -1/+5Please shout this when you feel there are others of a sizeable number that haven't seen it.
I waited for the friends list to hit 200 and then shouted this to the 80-90 of you who allow shouts from me.
I'm hoping to up the friends list more so I can shout my Gettysburg thingy again. - EdgarVerona, on 12/08/2007, -7/+2OSC was once a prolific writer... now he's just an extremist nutjob. He's changed a lot since the days of Ender's Game and Speaker of the Dead. His most recent novel was about a theoretical civil war launched by the Democratic party, and he's spent the past few years writing extremist FUD blogs about how we need to protect our country at any cost from invisible foes.
OSC lost all credibility in my opinion years ago. Not that any of the credibility he earned through Ender's Game and other books was at all relevant to global climate theories in the first place.- thotpoizn, on 12/09/2007, -1/+5...And while we're on the subject of credibility, we should accept your critique of this reknowned author and college professor because - why, again? Oh yeah, that's right - because you don't like his politics. Gotcha. Hey, could you go easy with the salt on my fries there, skippy? I'm trying to keep the blood pressure down, it tends to spike when I'm dealing with idiots.
- Nosocialism, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2There's a video that everyone here needs to watch:

Watch that video, and then tell me you still believe in man made Global Warming.
