There is absolutely no rights as to property protection, and our felons use the law like a gun.
And if you ahve a trespasser , you had better be nice , don't raise your voice, or threaten , point your finger. You will go to jail for making threats and public nuisance. Even if they use your property to steal your property and remove it from your property and then bring back the conveyance.
I had a person write me a bad check for a horse, had the horse on its properrty , tried to get it back. Cops told me "NO". I couldn't have it back if I tried they would arrest me for theft and rtrespassing. Would not prosecute horse thief for even the bad check.
I called about a bum, dispatcher wanted me to go out 250 ft from my residence and ask him if he had a weapon.
I called police on cemetary vandalism, po'd them , Sent the vandals home kept us fr 30 minutes running a make on us to arrest us.
A person admits to incest and torture, it is not prosecuted and they want to give it the children . Then we all find out incest is not againstthe law in our state. So apparently there is no deterrent to killing childhood.

Given the choice of actually fighting REAL crime (murders, robberies, beatings, etc) or taxing honest, hard working citizens (handing out tickets for petty offenses etc) they will choose the easiest option 98% of the time. On one of our local TV stations, I actually witnessed one of our bylaw officers state that the laws/bylaws are set up in such a way that they can ticket/charge anyone for something at any time. They have recently added extra forces to the downtown beat to combat the 'crime' down there, so what do they do? Hide and fish for bike messengers, j-walkers, and the like. One time my father heard some terrified screaming coming from one of his neighbor's house, so he called the cops, and they asked him if he was going to over and investigate. "Ummm, no. That's why I'm calling you!"
...there's so much more, but you get the point. - steviesteveo, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1That's a good move, it's still got the same vulnerabilities when you let neighbours vote on anything in their neighbourhood (a lot of the time the personalities involved are a lot more important than the issues) but it's a good way to settle the majority of the disputes.
