Olympic President Calls Torch Protests a ‘Crisis’
nytimes.com — Jacques Rogge, the president of the International Olympic Committee, said Thursday that the anti-Chinese protests that have dogged the Olympic torch relay had become a “crisis” for the organization but insisted that the skirmishes, some of them violent, would not cut short the torch’s 21-nation tour leading up to the Beijing games in August.
