- BrownManUPS, on 12/02/2008, -4/+32From a Pakistani who is a Hindu, this story strikes me hard. The Indian people typically associate Pakistani's with extreme Muslim qualities or at least a general feeling of hatred, simply because of past tensions. As Ghandi once said, "One dirty drop in the ocean does not make the ocean dirty." I think India should be angry, certainly, at the attackers, but they shouldn't hate the attackers because of their race or religion. They should hate them because of who they are and the thought that they would hurt innocent people.
This attack will bring out many stereotypes and lead to a war that is based on generalizations and stereotypes. I know one comment won't change the world, but I just hope that I am wrong. - k3rfuffl3, on 12/03/2008, -2/+21Pakistan keeps failing to keep these terrorist groups in check. They've failed on all their borders, and I think Pakistan's bordering nations are getting sick of their incompetence.
- madfrogurt, on 12/03/2008, -0/+11Let's sum up the reactions:
Sane people: Most intelligence agencies get word of plans as vague hints and try their best to strike against an enemy that chooses to hit weak civilian areas using the cover of anonymity.
Insane people: Well obviously this is proof that the Jews/NWO/aliens planned it all along. - wikwam, on 12/03/2008, -0/+11I don't think its a question of generalizations about race but the fact that pakistan has had the opportunity to prevent such attacks but has not done so. It is unfair and unfortunate that others suffer for the lack of government response. I'm not stereotyping based on race or religion, but if the Pakistani government had to chance to stop those attacks from happening, they should have.
- hasiabh, on 12/03/2008, -0/+11Initial Attacks were supposed to be on September 27th, the 27th day of Ramazan. But due to a round-up in mid september of some LeT operatives, the date was pushed back. Times of India has the story.

Also, according to the same article, the terrorists thought that they would be able to get away.
P.S. I lost 2 close friends at Victoria Terminus (the train station), so is it naive of me to want retribution? - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -2/+11This was reported by several networks over the weekend. It's still not clear who knew what when, or what they could've done to prevent the attack. It'll take weeks to sort out all the details, and some will probably not be made public.
- k3rfuffl3, on 12/03/2008, -1/+8This is hardly the first time terrorists from Pakistan have crossed into India to do something stupid and horrible. It's something that happens too frequently though it's the first time it's hit a city as vital to India as Mumbai. It's only been in the news more because they were targeting Jews and Westerners.
- madfrogurt, on 12/03/2008, -0/+7And when Bush got reelected I bet you said the same about going to war with Iran.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+6Jesus christ do you NWO nutjobs sit around all day and wait to post your BS in tandem?
- BrownManUPS, on 12/03/2008, -1/+7"Btw, not all Muslims are the same....just the Pakistani ones."
That is incredibly generalized and really lame of you to say. Many of my friends completely disagree with Muslim extremists, and for you to say that they are all in the same boat is simply untrue. Yes there are those who take Muslim teaching's and stretch it to be interpreted however they believe, but the bottom-line is that NO faith implicates that violence is the best way to be closer to God.
As an Indian, you should know that the police force is not the greatest official authority in the country. Sure they keep some peace but at the end of the day, you can buy your way into anything. In order to really stop terrorism from starting, the Indian sub-continent's entire mentality should be changed first. - dkapuchino, on 12/03/2008, -1/+7" The Indian people typically associate Pakistanis with extreme Muslim qualities or at least a general feeling of hatred, simply because of past tensions."
You've got to be kidding me.
The entire world associates Pakistan with extreme Muslim qualities, when every other day a car bomb explodes in Karachi next to a mosque, killing dozens or even hundreds, or when the new york times reports that Acid attacks against women without their veils are on the rise. - mercurysquad, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3Where the ***** are you getting your news (aka rumors) from? Cops didn't shoot? Scroll down and watch the CCTV footage with voice-over narration from the CST station: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7760690.stm
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -3/+6You need some serious psychiatric help dude.
- badqat, on 12/02/2008, -4/+7As bad as the relationship is between India and Pakistan...I can see them not just going to war again, but actually making it a limited or full-blown nuke engagement.
That would suck. - Jlaugh, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3To make sure your tax money is spent.
- diasingh, on 12/03/2008, -1/+4I think we Indians need to look at loopholes within our security system before taking action against Pakistan.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2This crisis situation should be tackled wisely. And war in this Economic downturn will kill the entire world.
- nxxm, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2they shudda gone wif amd instead of intel.
doh. - wikwam, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3Indian attacks on Indian soil are quite common. It's a sad reality and at no point would we blame those truths on people who are not responsible. That's not the case here.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2Hindu is Pakistan? I wasn't aware about that. How's life there for a Hindu?
- Georgy, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2Milton Friedman techniques...Shock therapy?
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3Intel Inside Idiots Outside!. The intelligence information was lost in the huge and complicated Indian system.
- akchrs, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3I wish we had some sort of intelligence system, maybe like an act of some sort, that could prevented all the attacks on the US since 9/11....... oh wait.
- iancgi, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3why do we spend billions upon billions on "national defense" then?
- ortucis, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2No *****, einstein.
- blinktude, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3Did the terrorists receive AMD or something?
- TheImaginator, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3Am I supposed to believe that all Muslims (especially those in countries we are told not to trust), are breeding grounds for extremists/terrorists and that by habit they;
1) Circumcise their women
2) Beat their women
3) Rape their women
4) Mutilate their women
5) Marry children
6) Sell children
7) Have a slave trade
8) Think all of the above is perfectly normal?
Any chance that this is brainwashing similar to the propaganda used to make the outer party and the proles hate Eurasia/Eastasia in '1984'? - inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3.........................Invitation...................:
.............Excusive Dinner party tonight...........
*Venue: Hotel Taj , Mumbai
*Dress code:Bullet Proof Jacket and helmet
*Special fireworks show By terrorists and Mumbai Police
*.....COME AND EXPERIENCE THE RIDE TO HEAVEN.......* - Fremen93, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2If you read this article, it shows that one of the terrorists was totally clueless about Islam and its basic tenets. It shows that they train totally ignorant morons to go kill....but Islam is not the cause...it didn't convince this guy to do it. He simply saw it as a desperate way to make money for his incredibly poor family.

The government can trace your IP and use satellites to implant instructions in your mind.
Be careful, you might commit the next "false flag" operation. - ortucis, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2Great, as long as he doesn't tell them that he is a Hindu.
Still, great. - Griminald, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2Naive? No, it's just being human.
It's how you let those thoughts affect your actions that will define you. - moribito, on 12/03/2008, -1/+2Okay, that's pretty funny. I rarely laugh at web comics, but that one was good.
- sgtcaboose, on 12/03/2008, -2/+4If governments react to every piece of intel they get nothing would get done. And besides, 'targets' means you can't plan *****, only make sure your anti-terrorism squads are ready to go.
- Barackalypse, on 12/03/2008, -1/+2Do you think the intel was as good as what Homeland Security had in August 2004 when they raised the terror alert saying, "This afternoon, we do have new and unusually specific information about where al-Qaeda would like to attack. As a result, today, the United States Government is raising the threat level to Code Orange for the financial services sector in New York City, Northern New Jersey and Washington, DC."
Four years later, nothing has exploded, nobody has been apprehended.
http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/history/editorial_0844.s ... - jhails, on 12/03/2008, -2/+3Looks like a war with Pakistan is being orchestrated. God help everyone if it goes Nuclear.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -2/+3 You have to wonder, was it in the interests of the Indian government to lets this one through?
- Barackalypse, on 12/03/2008, -1/+2To learn why nobody acted on this report, have a look at all the "intelligence" about terror attacks the US intel agencies have received that caused them to raise the terror alert level and then compare that to the number of actual attacks.
http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/history/editorial_0844.s ...
Basically, you cry wolf a dozen times and nothing happens and people ignore what you have to say. Also, the cover your ass theory of Government operation applies, you only lose face if something happens that you didn't predict, there isn't any penalty for predicting attacks that don't occur. - chudgoo, on 12/03/2008, -2/+3Obvious propaganda from AMD
- puzzleworld, on 12/03/2008, -4/+5"India should create its own terrorist group and send them into Pakistan to wreck havoc. Let's see how they take it. India needs to grow balls! And I am Indian who was born and lived in a Muslim country."
Is that what Pakistan did? No. The terrorists are independent of the Pakistani government. The Pakistani army is always involved in offensives against terrorists in the North-West region. Stop being a bigot and remember it is not Pakistan VS India. It is Pakistan and India together against terrorists. - TheJimid, on 12/03/2008, -3/+3Are we sure nobody yelled SIIIIKKKKEEEEEE after?
That would of made it really confusing. - pankss123, on 12/15/2008, -0/+0It was a cowardly act. All Indians please sign this petition.
http://www.myonlinepetition.com/petition/57/Mumbai ... - gkiltz, on 12/03/2008, -1/+1If the last two US administrations prove anything in the longer-term picture, and I'm not sure that they do, they prove pretty clearly that IT IS A BIG STEP FROM HAVING INTELLIGENCE, TO HEEDING, RESPECTING, UNDERSTANDING AND INTERPRETING INTELLIGENCE!!
Obviously the Indian government either was clueless as to WHAT they had, or did not understand what it meant! Sound familiar? - BrettFromTibet, on 12/03/2008, -3/+3There are rumors of terrorism all the time... even here in Colorado.. people threaten to blow up the Jewish synagouge during the holidays. The authorities can't act on everything!
