- DrReaper, on 07/17/2008, -8/+24All is lost then the government tells everyone what to do. We are seeing the destruction of civilization as we know it.
- maybeth, on 07/17/2008, -13/+26WOW--the end is very near. Everywhere we look around the world, sin is becoming more and more prevalent and God fearing people are being challenged on their core beliefs.
- chickenbig, on 07/17/2008, -13/+25Sounds like textbook Marxism to me. I wonder who Lula's mentor(s) are?
- kooft, on 07/17/2008, -2/+14If the government want to create and enforce decency laws forbidding public affection, then it should apply equally to all gender-pair associations.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -13/+24The bill also seeks to penalize private and public school administrators with up to three years in prison if they refuse to hire openly "gay" teachers.
Send in the application for a teaching job.......if not hired...ouch...sounds like an automatic job to me......so much for them being a Christian country!
And it ain't Marxism, it's perversion at it's finest and coming to a country near you! - Taquoshi, on 07/17/2008, -9/+20They can make all the laws that they want to "protect" homosexuality, but all it will do is push everything underground. Rather than having dialog, it will freeze everything.
The man forced to accept something against his will is of the same opinion still. - Cate320, on 07/17/2008, -1/+10He meant (I think) that if there is legitimate grounds for not hiring someone ( something NOT having to do with their sexual orientation), that employers do not have to hire them. If such a legitimate reason exists, it should be easy enough to prove.
- Cate320, on 07/17/2008, -2/+11So the gays should have to hide themselves in their houses because *you* don't want to see them?
They aren't the ones being intolerant. *You* idiots need to grow up. - inactive, on 07/17/2008, -11/+19There seems to be a new headline every other day about this hate, intolerance, oppression, and violation of others rights from these vile, disgusting, militant homosexuals. Yet their numbers are so few. How is it that they have so much power over the rest of the 98% of the population? With the help of Satan of course, and his other deceived useful idiots who are atheists and Marxists.
- Coven, on 07/17/2008, -1/+9"if it was genetic, it would have already unbred itself out of the population"
Because gay people are only born to a couple where one person is gay.
You have no idea how genetics and recessive genes work, do you?
and public displays of affection (a kiss, hug, even a short makeout session) are not lewd behavior, as defined by law. your rights are not being violated. you don't have the right to not be offended. - JohnQuincyMD, on 07/17/2008, -1/+8Amen!
- soofan, on 07/17/2008, -3/+10you are right on in your observation. Great post...
- lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -9/+16As a business owner, it shouldn't matter if your gaydar goes off or not, you should not hire someone if you find a reason not to hire someone unsuitable. Sexual orientation doesn't make anyone more or less suitable for a job.
Saying when you think someone is gay, you can always find some reason to hide behind to not hire them (where you wouldn't do the same in others), is unfair discrimination. The same if you did it based on race or gender. - JohnQuincyMD, on 07/17/2008, -1/+8"The man forced to accept something against his will is of the same opinion still."
Only more so, and now has a reason to dig in his heels. - lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -1/+8So what does that statement mean in conjunction with the previous statement about "if [your] 'gaydar' goes off when interviewing a potential employee?" You said previously you can always find a reason to not hire them, but now you say it's not an issue if he's fit for the company?
If the latter is true, then you don't let sexuality influence your hiring choices, and therefore have no personal problem with anti-discrimination of sexual orientation. - OyVay, on 07/17/2008, -3/+9Looks like freedom of speech in Brazil is going to have to take the schmuck in the butt, suffer AIDS and die a slow, gruesome death.
In America, the freedom homosexual atheism and paganism currently enjoys will end up being taken away from them, by the very political correctness they've been using to gain more privilege than the rest of society.
This will happen if America is foolish enough to allow Islam the same liberties the ***** have to indoctrinate the youth and pop culture.
I certainly believe Muslims have the same right as any, other religion to their religious worship under the U.S. Constitution. What I am concerned could happen is that, the more militant among Muslims will seek to eradicate freedom of speech (and in the process, freedom of religion other than Islam) by positioning themselves politically the same way homosexuals have: by making it illegal to say anything critical of Islam, under penalty of fines, imprisonment, or both.
Homosexuals and other liberals in America, especially leftists in the News media be warned: You will watch as your own political correctness, which has allowed you to foist your immorality on us all, will end up banning your freedom of speech, religion, and perversion, and will cause you all to end up on prayer rugs facing Mecca - and forced to practice whatever perversions you enjoy in secret, or end up in a box with your head missing.
It's high time for us as Christians in America to decide whether we are going to remain pacifistic or stand up for the inalienable rights we still enjoy under the Constitution to speak publically against lifestyles and religions with which we do not agree. We need to let our voices be heard...not just read on blogs.
Do we want America becoming like China? Better wake up, folks! - fwelch, on 07/17/2008, -9/+15Offend a homosexual ... Go to prison for 5 years
Teachers, pastors facing 'criminalization of homophobia'
Think this crap will pass here? Will be interesting to see what the people will do about it if it does. - lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -3/+9Lajaw, if you think that you need to protect your family by by not letting them see people kissing, or not letting them see people wearing short skirts, or not letting them see people with piercings... or anything people have the right to do... then you should get over it OR move to an isolated location. You cannot control people's behavior or take away their rights because your "children, wife and [you] don't want to see it." But the fact is the government will not ever take away rights to public affection.
michael: "We can't even go to a public park without seeing a bunch of queers trying to hook up in the public restrooms for anonymous sex."
First off, lajaw's comment was about legal behavior, regardless of orientation. Yours is not.
Really? You have documented cases every time of going to the park of seeing two men, who you identify as gay, who were waiting around public restrooms for someone else to come, and enter in together for sex in the restroom? And you witnessed feet in the stalls of them having sex? I call *****. I call this a stereotype that you haven't seen but once perhaps. But anyway, I'm not for people of any orientation hooking up in public restrooms. And since public sex is illegal I believe, you should be reporting it everytime you go to the park. - lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -1/+7"And if in a public space, my senses are violated by lewd behavior of any sort, what happens to my rights? Do the deviants deserve extra-rights? I think not."
You are correct. If anyone's senses (regardless of sexual orientation) are violated by lewd behavior (regardless of sexual orientation), you do not lose rights. No-one has a right to prevent people from lewd behavior so they don't see it in public. You have a right to avoid looking at lewd behavior. Nobody has extra-rights.
What rights in particular are you concerned about with "what happens to my rights?" - zortnac, on 07/17/2008, -1/+7Really now, you didn't find it *anywhere* else in the Bible? Not even in the same book of Leviticus? "Abomination," translated from the Hebrew words "sheqets" and "toevah," each meaning a different type of "abomination," are used to describe:
Eating unkosher food (including shellfish)
Having sex with your wife when she's menstruating
Seeing your siblings naked
Trimming your beard
Wearing clothes made from mixed fibers
So, if you think I have the "wool pulled over my eyes" then that's fine, but in the meantime you might actually want to READ that book you seem to like using to condemn other people. - Coven, on 07/17/2008, -7/+13You have the right to not look. You don't have the right to tell that couple to stop doing what is their right to do. Until it becomes lewd behavior (they go from simply making out to full on groping and further behavior), you can't stop them from doing anything. If you want to shield your family from such things, don't take them out of the house.
- somnambulator, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6I've been setting peoples gaydar off since my peers at school knew what 'gay' was. So has my wife!
We have two kids and live in the country here in Australia. Our sexuality isn't 'traditional', whatever that might mean. But we run a successful local business, and deal with people from all walks of life. We are accepted in the local community for who we are, we hire based on skill and work ethic.
My electrician is part of a religious community called the brethren, he is one of the nicest people I know, and like most other people, he is nonjudgmental. Accepting all types of different people is easy if they offer that same acceptance. - eir574, on 07/17/2008, -2/+7I'm just guessing, but perhaps rjwusa means that if his gaydar goes off, then that's sufficient information to assume that a person will make his sexual orientation an issue in the workplace. Which, of course, is not always true, as in the example of I gave of my friend who tends to set off people's gaydars despite the fact that he's not gay, doesn't make his sexuality an issue, and is a decent person of strong character.
- eir574, on 07/17/2008, -10/+15Whenever I see business owners on digg defending their right to stereotype homosexuals and judge them based on nothing more than "gaydar," I can only hope that they've missed out on highly qualified individuals who then did a fantastic job for a competitor. In fact, I have a friend who almost certainly would have registered on your gaydar. He's a brilliant programmer and is happily married . . . to a woman who's expecting their first child. You couldn't ask for a more honest, ethical, hard working employee. For some reason, though, people seem to assume he's gay.
Making assumptions about a person's character based only on your best guess as to his or her sexual orientation may be causing you to lose out on quality applicants. I also find it amusing that your gaydar would cause you to reject homosexuals who, for better or for worse, are committed to changing their sexual orientation. Someone in that position probably shares far more of your values than the average random applicant. - atlatl55, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5Wow that is a great graphic picture. I for one think you are probably right to the tee... Thanks. May G-d come quickly, amen
- lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -1/+6And genetic infertility would sooner have been eliminated than genetic homosexuality (because homosexual individuals are capable of reproduction, whereas infertile individuals are not). But it's still here.

What about your 'jewdar' or your 'blackdar'? Are those working well these days?
"That is the beauty in the concept of freedom of association. If I don't want to hire someone, or rent them a house, be it because they are deviant, female, socialist or ugly, that is my Right to do."
No it isn't, not in America. Whites had that right not too long ago and they colluded against blacks to deny them jobs and a livelihood. Blacks were forced to live as second class citizens because whites had the 'right' to exclude them from commerce.
Read about Adam Smith's 'invisible hand' and John Maynard Keynes opinion of it. Not every decision made by consumers, as a whole, is necessarily beneficial to society. Read about the 'paradox of thrift' and you'll find that the mere fear of recession can drive a growing economy into recession.
Most economists agree that the state should correct for the failures of consumers. This is why there are anti-discrimination laws, because it's harmful to the economy and society. Don't believe me? Just open up a history book or take an international political economy class. - kooft, on 07/17/2008, -3/+8"We can't even go to a public park without seeing a bunch of queers trying to hook up in the public restrooms for anonymous sex."
Perhaps they have to 'hook up' anonymously because they are ostracized by closed-minded people who call them names. Hmmm?
"Disgusting behavior that is a result of some tiny minority's sexual disorder has no place in an orderly society if it is to function as it was designed."
Prove that homosexuality is a sexual disorder. No one knows for sure where it's origins lie, but there have been some studies that indicate it might be genetic. If so, that would destroy your disorder theory and put homosexuals firmly in the realm of 'as God intended'.
True, you could argue that it's a mutation that could eventually be corrected with a pill, but then again, there's some indication that belief in God is also genetic. So... well, I'll let you draw your own conclusions on that one... - eir574, on 07/17/2008, -1/+6"if it was genetic, it would have already unbred itself out of the population."
You mean just like how genetic diseases such as Tay Sachs have disappeared because people with the disease don't live long enough to reproduce? The fact that such a thing has not occurred should tell you that you misunderstand genetic inheritance. - JohnQuincyMD, on 07/17/2008, -3/+8True; the scariest part is how these abominations are being enshrined into law.
- Tookson, on 07/17/2008, -4/+9I'm not going vacationing in Brazil. They might confiscate my Bible and throw me in jail if I read it too loudly.
- jfm777, on 07/17/2008, -8/+12 I do not understand your reply 'lydecker'.. . Are you agreeing that not hiring an "openly Gay person" is dangerous because they can say it was discrimination, that they automatically get the job if they are gay out of fear of 3 years in jail?
Or are you saying it's ridiculous to assume this means the above and that nobody would just hire a gay teacher because they fear prison, (even though they face 3 years -on the say so of the "openly gay person" who would of course assume he didn't get the job because he is "openly gay")?
Your post is not clear. - inactive, on 07/17/2008, -11/+15"I can only hope that they've missed out on highly qualified individuals who then did a fantastic job for a competitor."
That is the beauty in the concept of freedom of association. If I don't want to hire someone, or rent them a house, be it because they are deviant, female, socialist or ugly, that is my Right to do. The market will decide who survives in the business world. It shouldn't be the government and the neo-socialists of our hour. - inactive, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4We already found out about rjwusa's "business". It is a one and a half person deal. He/she/it just thought saying "business" makes it sound like he actually does something more than he does...
- jfm777, on 07/17/2008, -11/+15"Yet another lie in the headline of a WND article"
Show us how it is a lie. The headline is :
Offend a homosexual ... Go to prison for 5 years
-Teachers, pastors facing 'criminalization of homophobia'-
You people should be very concerned when the government decides for you who you can hire, and who you can refuse to hire. The same 'gay' people who love these laws will refuse to hire a devout Christian and face the same 5 year sentence once someone uses the 'discrimination' laws to prove it's just as illegal and discriminatory to refuse to hire a Christian, white, straight guy!
the exact same punishment for 'discrimination' the rest of us face if you decide not to hire someone whom you deem unfit for the job because of their lifestyle, their interests, or their outward appearance .
I'd be very careful wanting the government to make such stupid laws. The government wants power and money, and the only reason they care about anything is because of who throws money at them, or a way they can take more power away from us and give it to government. We have already lost everything we held dear. Our rights, our money, being able to make our own descisions about our own business, etc..
It sets a precedent that WILL wind up going against YOUR beliefs too.
Picture the following:
-A 'Gay rights' organization refuses to hire someone who they believe is against 'gay rights'..
-A place refuses to hire the Hells Angles for security.
-A Catholic church refuses to hire a Satanist as a youth group leader or a ccd teacher,
-A rape crisis center refuses to hire a NAMBLA member as a counselor (or a Hells Angel member)
-a daycare refuses to hire a 'flamboyant' transvestite guy who the interviewer has a really bad feeling about, or who she believes will be a constant distraction and bad influence on the kids. She tells him she thinks he is not the one for the job. She gets 5 years in prison? - APB2007, on 07/17/2008, -4/+8Wait until the muslim's take over the country. The homosexuals will be missing the tolerance of the christains at that point..LOL. Christians tend to keep their opposition to things centered on verbal disagreements and boycotts. I don't think the muslims will, since anyone with eyes can see how they become when they are the majority in a particular region, they throw off any pretense of being peaceful and tolerant.
- lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -2/+6I'm trying to find articles on the lawsuit you cite, but I can't. Perhaps having read it, you'll know a little more about how to google it? Can you help me find citation for that incident? I wanted to look at it from both sides.
But I agree, you need to look at character, and their ability to do the job, which typically doesn't relate to race, religion, gender, or sexual preference. - Equinox2012, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4Randy won't hire gays because it's too tempting for him to fall into their snare.
