- motivatedmama, on 07/20/2008, -1/+2As he has said all along, even before the Taliban's recent resurgence began to capture the media's attention this year. He saw this coming. It's not just about going in and blowing ***** up, or 'achieving victory' it's about stemming the tide of radical recruits. He intends to give equal attention to the plight of the general population. With the combined efforts of force and diplomacy there is a chance to stave off the ill will of an entire generation of radicals. He didn't create this mess but it's a mess that needs attending to. If only we had done the job right in the first place....
- MercyPolitics, on 07/20/2008, -1/+2It will not be easy anyway, specially with the Pashtuns, and the fact that they are across Afghanistan and Pakistan borders. It will require a combine effort with the respective governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan on one hand, the US and NATO on the other hand.
