- julianmaestas, on 11/19/2008, -7/+73at first I thought it said, "Obama to pick Hitler as attorney general." and I was like what the *****?! And then I saw it said Holder; then I was like who the *****?????
- Mcam55, on 11/19/2008, -1/+61i knew Oprah had pull....but to get Stedman a cabinet position is impressive
- patpl22391, on 11/19/2008, -24/+84If I wanted to have the entire Clinton Administration in the White House again, I would have voted for Hillary. He is also credited with the pardoning of Marc Rich. If you don't know who he is, I suggest you google it. Change we can believe in!
- greenlight2001, on 11/19/2008, -3/+44At first I was like "Hey! Obama grew a mustache!"
And then I saw that it wasn't Obama, and I was like "Who the ***** is that?" - ksalminen, on 11/19/2008, -5/+44Did Obama just pick Lando Calrissian as the Attorney General?
- CaptShmo, on 11/19/2008, -4/+34Lando for attorney general!
- marv0, on 11/19/2008, -8/+35Do you want a bunch of no name never tested people filling in the most important jobs in America?
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -15/+40"In January 2008, Holder joined a brief in District of Columbia v. Heller along with Janet Reno and a handful of other former Justice Department officials from both the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations in support of the Firearms Control Regulations Act of 1975 sometimes reffered to as "the D.C. handgun ban".

Oh boy, that's not going to go over well. I hope he's changed his position since then. - bmxxxxxxxx, on 11/19/2008, -7/+29He picks a guy who supports pre-emptive war.
- Renian, on 11/19/2008, -10/+24O NOES HE'S FROM THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION THIS ISN'T CHANGE KHAAAAAAAAAAAN
As long as he's competent and gets stuff done that's beneficial to America, who the ***** cares where he's from? - patpl22391, on 11/19/2008, -1/+13Who has he appointed from across the aisle? All he has done is appoint old Clinton-era people.
- idontlikeyou2, on 11/19/2008, -7/+19This man had been a prosecutor, judge, US attorney, assistant to AG. He may have been in the Clinton Administration but a lot of "Qualified" people were and that does not automatically exclude him. This maybe a shocker to people out there, democrats who rises to the top tend to have experience in previous administrations, I am sure Clinton's administration had people from previous administrations.
Neocon's don't get to whine when they've sunk the bar of public official so low. - inactive, on 11/19/2008, -7/+19It's the same reason they bury people who bring up Obama's support of the Patriot Act, FISA Legislation, or this horrendous bailout...
They don't want to hear the truth. - soccerman90, on 11/19/2008, -7/+19Im not liking all these clinton people. Where are the change people and the republicans? (abe lincoln style)
- mooninite, on 11/19/2008, -6/+17You never thought to ask Obama what Change meant did you?
Maybe you'll learn from this. Maybe. It seems many American's memory only lasts four years before it turns into mush. - vpshockwave, on 11/19/2008, -2/+13http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Holder
- Mujokan, on 11/19/2008, -11/+22Change means you can't have anyone from the Clinton Administration? Which means you can only pick people who've been in politics for less than eight years? We are talking about White House appointments here. These are the Democrats with experience in this category. This guy was deputy AG and he's close to Obama.
Anyone who thinks Eric Holder doesn't represent change from Alberto Gonzales and John Ashcroft is probably due for a brain transplant.
I'm not that interested in what Dan Burton has to say about him re. Marc Rich. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Burton#Controvers ... - Conwaysb0718, on 11/19/2008, -10/+20whos next? Bill Clinton gonna be offered a spot? Do they have a "Secretary of Hot Chicks" yet?
- Smaulz, on 11/19/2008, -0/+10And I'm digging you for the creative spelling skills.
- thejokker, on 11/19/2008, -1/+11I can buy into a few people needing to be from the clinton admin because they bring 'white house know-how' but seriously why is every major name from the clinton era. How about some new blood into the executive branch? how about plucking some top minds from state democratic governments? How about a new breed who want to get things done the right way instead of the same old way?
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -3/+12So far he he has chosen Clinton's wife and two members of the old Clinton Administration to be a part of his administration. This isn't exactly following Abe's approach.
- minorthreat, on 11/19/2008, -1/+9he's straight out of the 80's. I'm really wanting to see us have a president who sports a mustache...
- darknephilim, on 11/19/2008, -1/+9ummm... I don't think that Monica or Hillary or any of the other cows that he has porked qualify as "hot chicks".
- dave11980, on 11/19/2008, -1/+9Dugg for gratuitous use of the word '*****'.
- Koush, on 11/19/2008, -4/+12Pssh..I know what Jesse Jackson looks like...your not fooling me.
- Harlem, on 11/19/2008, -8/+16It's beginning to look a lot like Clinton......everywhere we go. With apologies to Irving Berlin:)
- omgwtflawl, on 11/19/2008, -3/+11Don't you know handguns are only good for murdering children and puppies? Shame on you!
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -2/+10duh
- PacoLugi, on 11/19/2008, -2/+9Nice stach Lamont.
- krahzee, on 11/19/2008, -24/+31So "Change" was Clinton people and people from Illinois?
You all got duped - Mujokan, on 11/19/2008, -0/+7They think Obama is far-left, because they spent so much time at WND during the election. Now when he makes sensible centrist picks of experienced people, they are surprised, because they weren't paying attention.
They weren't paying much attention to Bush either, so they don't realize how radical his administration was. The Bush AGs, the conduct of the DoJ under Bush, various executive orders like 12958, warrantless wiretapping, and other dodgy legal decisions (e.g. on signing statements or torture) mean that this is massive change. - inactive, on 11/19/2008, -8/+15Who's burying me? Everything I posted is fact.
- blitzkriegpunk, on 11/19/2008, -7/+14We don't like them facts 'round these here parts. Gash dernit!
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -3/+10I don't like you and I like onetimer, but for some strange reason I'm going to digg you up!
- cloviejr, on 11/19/2008, -13/+19Wow, a guy from the same Justice Department that torched almost a hundred people for exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.
Strap yourselves in, we're in for a wild ride. - NinaOdell, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6You mean qualified supporters for his Cabinet?
I've been laid off for 6 months, and I voted for him. I didn't expect he'd make me Secretary of Education for it ... - badave, on 11/19/2008, -2/+7Change occurred with Bush. Obama is just changing back to what worked to get us a giant f-ing surplus and a flourishing economy.
- Fr33th0t, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5Work with isn't necessarily hire for top positions.
- Conwaysb0718, on 11/19/2008, -1/+6i believe you've got your parties muddled up...
- dragonystic, on 11/19/2008, -2/+7ehh, this comment would make sense if he was a former Bush senior official.
the change is steering off the course Bush set for us you dimwit. - rheaume, on 11/19/2008, -1/+6Yeah because Obama supporters usually hate Clinton and his policies. Enjoy the next 8 years.
- TexasTootie, on 11/19/2008, -7/+12Read the link that is posted and you can see his credentials. I think he will make an excellent AG.
- idontlikeyou2, on 11/19/2008, -1/+6Yeah, change compared to the Bush Adminstration.Who are you benchmarking the change to ?
I am happy as long as it is a competent, qualified person leading the Justice Department rather than a department filled with idiots and that's the current benchmark set to. - DrLeePhD, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5I hear ya!
Ullesses S. Grant, Abraham Lincoln, Chester A. Arthur, Grover Cleveland, and Howard Taft were all bad-ass, and they
all rocked facial hair.
Nobody with facial hair has won a presidential election since Taft in 1908.
100 clean-shaven years.
This holder guy could be pretty awesome (based solely on moustaches). - marv0, on 11/19/2008, -11/+16Do you think this is some magical change that happens instantly and comes from people who have no experience in their positions? You also forget all these people are working under Mr. Obama, and he will be the spearhead of this change. It will take time and it won't be amazing at first, but I believe America is capable of this transition.
- chickenloco, on 11/19/2008, -2/+6He is anti gun rights. (Second Amendment Right)
"But former U.S. deputy attorney general Eric H. Holder Jr. said that weakening the gun law "opens the door to more people having more access to guns and putting guns on the streets."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ... - SillyDigger, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4corporations own the internet
- kiwiboyus, on 11/19/2008, -6/+10As it was pointed out on a show I watched a couple of days after the election, there are only so many experienced people that Obama can pick from. He needs people with experience who can get the things he wants done, he can't do that picking a bunch of people no one knows or will work with. Change is in the attitude and tasks he gives these people. Oh and to all you McCain supporters posting, please introduce us all to the change McCain said he was going to bring, name them and make them famous!
