Obama's poverty plan: A global scam
worldnetdaily.com — Yes, although Sen. Barack Obama says he will ease the tax burden for middle-class families and increase that of the faceless, evil "wealthy," it is perplexing – as are many aspects of Obama's candidacy – that so many Americans remain gullible enough to fall for these lines.

- jb1965, on 07/31/2008, -2/+7"Remember "Oil for Food"? S. 2433 is a proposed massive money grab being sold on the basis of false compassion and unwarranted guilt – nothing more. The Global Poverty Act would represent further confiscatory taxation of the American people in order to provide billions in circumlocutory appeasement for Third World governments, with the obligatory administrative "lost millions" appropriated by corrupt dictators, lawmakers, consultants and United Nations bandits – and Barack Obama knows it."
AMEN Brother! - Ruler4you, on 07/31/2008, -2/+7This money doesn't exist. It would have to be printed up and that would increase inflation and water down the buying power of the existing dollars. This is the same old D.C. shell game with tax payer funded programs. It's foolish and stupid.
- sbernie, on 07/31/2008, -2/+7It is a shame that men like Erik Rush, Mychal Massie, Ellis Washington, Walter Williams, Rev. Jessie Lee Peterson, Thomas Sowell and others like them don't run for public office. These to me are a mans' man. They see the evil of socialism and prescribe free enterprise and entrepreneurial innovation to combat that evil. It equally a shame that the media gets away with the drum beat of big government. Big business and Big labor get away with the drum beat of big government. Government and socialism will never help the American people. It will only kill, steal and destroy. Much like the evil one that Y'shua talked about. The thief comes not, but to steal, kill and destroy, John 10:10
I applaud you Erik! - linuxdad, on 07/31/2008, -1/+5Call these fools and let them know what you think. Tell them to stop stealing money from your pockets! They have no right! Why should we pay for Global Welfare?

Obama 202 224 2854 - jamegumm, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4Rush is quickly becoming my favorite columnist. He is chock full of common sense and logic. The media is liberalism's biggest promoter. And it's a very powerful one. If all of the American people would think for themselves, a liberal would never get elected ever again. Liberalism is poison. It is a cancer. It seeks to devour what is good about America.
- 10QGZus, on 07/31/2008, -0/+6Just where does Obama think the money for this is coming from? Our economy is hurting right now. People are taking pay cuts, not driving as much, not going out to eat, dropping the daily Starbucks run............and Obama thinks our country can foot a bill for over $800 BILLION dollars? Who does this guy think he is?
Someone needs to take Obama aside and tell him that Santa Claus isn't real. - BearButt777, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2I wrote my two Florida senators about this bill yesterday... here are their responses:
Senator Mel Martinez... "...On December 7, 2007, Senator Obama (D-IL) introduced a bill (S.2433) directing the President to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to reduce global poverty. This bill has been reported out of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, and it awaits consideration by the full Senate. While I support strengthening our nation's foreign assistance programs, I am concerned that this bill could weaken current U.S. policies that have similar goals and have proven to be successful."
He is "concerned"... that's a good start I guess... he should be ALARMED!
Senator Bill Nelson... "The Global Poverty Act of 2007 is a bill that would require the President to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to reduce global poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day. Based on information from the State Department, the cost of implementing the Act would be less than $1 million per year."
He says, according to our most trustworthy State Department, it will cost less than $1 million a year to pull half of the world's population that lives on less than $1 per day out of poverty. He must think we're all idiots! Maybe we are for having elected such people to office. - sexydarin, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4Socialists/communists don't care where the money is coming form. They just want to steal it.
- nippinawassee, on 07/31/2008, -0/+5Now we can all stand up and cheer that BHMO has decided to end world poverty. What happens when all the people who live on less than $1/day suddenly come on line with money to spend. The people he's talking about are the primitive tribes in Africa, also under the rule of despots and scumbags, who, btw, have take the billions sent to them from all countries to help feed starving people just as they've stolen the foodstuffs etc., that have been shipped to Zimbabwe - formerly the most productive country in Africa, exporting food because they produced so much. What happened? FEAR. The Mugabes of the world operate on pure fear - terrorize the citizens to the point they crawl into the nearest safe hole and stay there. Slaughter those who disagree. And why is it these thugs are allowed by the FREE WORLD to get away with this? $$$$ that's why. It's like dominos - knock one over and a whole country collapses from the repercussions. Any funds that go to BO's homeland will be sucked into the bank accounts of the likes of Mugabe. Save your powder and your MONEY because until the Africans gain the courage and ability to overthrow these thugs, nothing will improve their lives except death. Then again, helping them can also backfire (i.e., Afghanistan & OBL - we helped and it backfired). BO is doing the same thing that the J. Jacksons, Al Sharpton's do on a daily basis - he's promising all sorts of things, freedom, reparation, etc., and the weak are worshipping him. Primarily because they don't have the ability to ask: HOW are you going to do this? Instead of his flowery plagerized speeches, he needs to be stating facts - cold, hard facts but then he will lose his voting audience who are waiting for the free(dom)bies... BO is a joke.
