- TheUngod, on 06/22/2009, -0/+249Apparently N. Korea doesn't have history books. Historically, attacking Hawaii does not end well.
- gambit2121, on 06/22/2009, -5/+156N. Korea launching a missile towards the US is like throwing a rock towards a bear...there's not much to gain and it's can't end well.
- DifferentAngle, on 06/22/2009, -1/+109Shoot it down as soon as it's over international waters...
- ironhide, on 06/22/2009, -1/+93Tradition?
- appleofdischord, on 06/22/2009, -6/+98Just like that time he gave a sternly worded speech to those Somalian pirates...
- Solkre, on 06/22/2009, -1/+84This would be a great way to test our airborne laser anti-missile system. We wouldn't even have to pay for the target this time.
- davidjunit, on 06/22/2009, -0/+74Kim Jong Ill wrote their history books and he's been too busy watching his Family Matters Blu-ray box set and veggin' out on tuscani pasta from Pizza Hut to get to that section.
- CoD4, on 06/22/2009, -6/+63The way this is going, it would be wise to create more pylons if possible
- Shadow503, on 06/22/2009, -11/+62How about we shoot the damn thing down while it's above North Korea? They're already breaking international resolutions.
- Renian, on 06/22/2009, -3/+54We can't risk getting nuclear fallout all over South Korea. Nor can we risk the entirety of South Korea accidentally alerting North Korea by every speaker in their country suddenly blaring out, "NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED!"
- julian02392, on 06/22/2009, -1/+51Pandering? What the ***** is he supposed to say?
That they're NOT ready for a possible missile launched in our direction?
Must be pretty trendy for presidents to say that our country will be safe. - ivanmarsh, on 06/22/2009, -6/+56I've always wanted to see what a single U.S. submarine can do to an entire country... it's going to be an exciting 8 minutes.
Let me get some popcorn. - Relikh, on 06/22/2009, -9/+56For the first time, possibly ever, I'm glad I'm not in Hawaii.
- idbjoshm, on 06/22/2009, -3/+47North Korea is just testing Obama. If KJI does in fact makes good on his promise to launch a missile towards Hawai, Obama should do more than just shoot it down and beg the UN for sanctions (since that's not working). A complete Naval blockade on the country and destruction of every artillery piece on the north side of the DMZ should send them a clear message.
- KSUdesigner, on 06/22/2009, -3/+43I like turtles.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -2/+42Jack *****'s resolution means international law.
- nismerf, on 06/22/2009, -1/+41The scary part is you have a leader, who suffered a stroke, in his last years of life, with nothing to lose, making these threats. I am not worried about the man who can lose everything, I am worried about the man who has nothing to lose.
- TheUngod, on 06/22/2009, -2/+40Maybe Kim Jong Il is allergic to pineapples and very angry about it.
- K4Lic0, on 06/22/2009, -2/+40Cause they can't reach California.
- pegothejerk, on 06/22/2009, -7/+41I think "first time" already implies ever.
- JenovaWitness77, on 06/22/2009, -2/+33Kim Jong Ill is too cool for Pizza Hut. The Hut on the other hand...
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -1/+27We dont have bases on Japan and South Korea for nothing.
- Solkre, on 06/22/2009, -0/+25Nothing is 100% effective, but that's the same for bullet-proof vests. You're still going to wear one.
- aaron117, on 06/22/2009, -3/+28Kill it with fire.
- snagglefoof, on 06/22/2009, -0/+23Those jokes are usually about South Korea.
- appleofdischord, on 06/22/2009, -1/+24Dugg for creative use of mulligan.
- TheInformer, on 06/22/2009, -29/+51It won't come to that. If North Korea launches a missle, Obama is ready to retaliate with a sternly worded speech. That'll teach them.
- Namakemono, on 06/22/2009, -0/+22He just wanted to be extra double sure he made his point.
- guruboyguru, on 06/22/2009, -1/+22Don't you mean "The Hut"?
- BillE3, on 06/22/2009, -1/+22Every time N. Korea begins threatening the U.S., we send over a diplomat and give them a bunch of money. They shut up until the money is gone, then they begin the threats again. How many times and how many different presidents have gone through this charade?
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -2/+22Its called geography. Learn it.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -2/+22I'm sure they're more scared of us, than we are of them.
- BluesFan, on 06/22/2009, -1/+21If war comes out of this the U.S would come out mostly unskaved but South Korea would probably have millions of dead, Seoul is only 20-25 miles away from the border.Japan would suffer some missile attacks as well.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -1/+21Better make that two bags of popcorn.
- jrm125, on 06/22/2009, -2/+22Pot, meet kettle.
- KSUdesigner, on 06/22/2009, -1/+20They can't reach Hawaii either, they just like to pretend they can.
- NotAChickenHawk, on 06/22/2009, -0/+18Problem is, destroying every artillery piece in one go is impossible. And Seoul is in artillery range of the DMZ.
- JBregard, on 06/22/2009, -0/+18It's Mr. Kim, actually (family name first)
- BrewBeau, on 06/22/2009, -1/+18I think he wanted Obama to say that there is a connection between North Korea and Saddam Hussein and we should pull out of Iraq and then re-invade it.
- lnxfi, on 06/22/2009, -11/+27If they launch a missile a the US, that pretty much gives the US a reason to give N Korea, as a country, a mulligan.
- SpoonMSU, on 06/22/2009, -1/+16Somehow I don't think waving our hands in N. Korea's face going "I'M NOT TOUCHING YOU I'M NOT TOUCHING YOU" would end well.
- EvilJelloMan, on 06/22/2009, -0/+15That was, hands down, the most clever starcraft reference in these comments. Bravo, sir.
- mikbunn, on 06/22/2009, -0/+15Yeah! What this county needs is two more wars!
And what are the odds that TheInformer and tomasll have railed against the current admin's spending? - inactive, on 06/22/2009, -1/+16Rent is obscenely high there.
- twiztidsinz, on 06/22/2009, -0/+15They might be....
But Kim is just that kind of crazy. - roostersheep, on 06/22/2009, -0/+15You say that as though it took a lot to get on Hitlers bad side!
- domnu, on 06/22/2009, -4/+18Because there's nothing more entertaining than watching a large civilian population become immolated by nuclear fire...
- SpoonMSU, on 06/22/2009, -1/+15Relatively speaking, yes, America would probably emerge relatively "unscathed," but I would prefer if Hawaii, S. Korea, Japan, etc didn't have to take one on the chin before we pwn N. Korea.
- boozedrinker, on 06/22/2009, -1/+15I don't appreciate NK launching any sort of dong into me or my country.
- ivanmarsh, on 06/22/2009, -4/+18It's certainly more entertaining than someone completely lacking in a sense of humor. If you don't understand irony you shouldn't be on the internets.
