I do not like the way the Chinese government treats Tibetans and other Chinese ethnicities. This just gives me one more damn reason to not to watch!

And Chinese triads whose activities include drug trafficking, human trafficking, contract murder, money laundering, prostitution, car theft, extortion, and other forms of racketeering.

Tibet and Mongolia are singled out because they retain their religion and culture. I had a Chinese TA in college, he was brainwashed as hell btw, who was a racial minority and he said he received some benefits because of this. The one that I remember was that he was exempt from the 1-child policy.

I love the Nigerians. If I need weed I know all I need to do is find a Nigerian. Most of them are pretty cool too.
What you say about the Triads is true, but it's neither smart not easy to target them.
Again, not making excuses for the Chinese government, just speculating as to how they arrived at their decision. Nigerians are easy to target (being black,) and are 100% less likely than the Triads to put an axe in your skull if you ***** with them. - ScienceDoc, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1More than enough justification to boycott!

At any rate, it's impossible to identify a Mongolian or a Tibetan by sight unless they're wearing their keen fur hats. - del35, on 07/21/2008, -1/+2I cant imagine Chinese authorities being as naive as to enforce this ban. So many of the athletes in the Olympics will be black. How can they even conceive of such a ban. I am tempted to conclude that this is false and meant to discredit China, which already has enough dirty laundry surrounding its treatment of Tibetans.

And Mongolians... are disproportionately involved in prostitution.
Not that I agree with this of course, but that is certainly the rationale.
