- StigNordas, on 08/31/2008, -2/+49If they were Norwegian ships they'd still be afloat. Must have been the cheaper Swedish models.

We come from the land of the ice and snow

- paranoiajack, on 08/31/2008, -0/+13Since when is 1624 medieval?
- opticwind, on 08/31/2008, -2/+15Looks like those Norwegians shouldn't have been shoppping at Ikea.
- MacBookForMe, on 08/30/2008, -0/+10That was a terrific catch!
- Smogtdi, on 08/31/2008, -0/+9"After that disaster, the Danish-Norwegian king, Kristian IV, ordered the city center moved before reconstruction started."
It sound like being a king ask to be a lot wiser than being President of the USA - ChileanGoD, on 08/31/2008, -0/+9Every fking research team should have a digital camera by now... come on!
- cygnus2112, on 08/31/2008, -0/+8Dibs on Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.
- Regbooker, on 08/31/2008, -0/+7The end of the Medieval Era isn't the same in every region, it depends of certain characteristics. For example Northern Italy Medieval period ended during the XV century, while for northern countries their Medieval period ended much later, when the Renaissance advancements in the social-political and technological fields reached them.
But yes, 1624 it's a bit stretched. - notwizt, on 08/31/2008, -0/+6Oh wait, the Norwegian nation has only been existing for about 100 years, and only because Sweden peacefully let you have it (because your big brother loves you, lub lub).
- thephreak99, on 08/31/2008, -0/+6Article in norwegian:

It's pretty amazing what you can find in mud. A whole ***** coastal village was found more or less intact because it had been covered up in mud. All the boats and houses (although collapsed) were found excellently preserved.
- Jennadickes, on 08/31/2008, -1/+6It's articles like this that always made me want to grow up to be an archaeologist. That and Jurassic Park of course.
(Don't judge me, I was 8 when it came out) - cygnus2112, on 08/31/2008, -0/+4So you're paying for a college education so you can go play in the mud?
- bbqsalad, on 08/31/2008, -0/+4Pay me 15$ a month I will make you a fake boat.
- Erunas, on 08/31/2008, -3/+7Does it matter? Even if they would have been Norwegian they would still have been built by Swedes...
(Swedes are to Norway what Mexicans are to the US) - geekyfrans, on 08/31/2008, -0/+4WTB freaking PICTURES!
- kimme, on 08/31/2008, -0/+4The danes gave to the swedes as well before that, hubb, hubb.....
And worse still as we know have an danish king here in Norway..... (Double lubb, lubb)
The best thing though is that Norway rakes money from the oil and is as rich as Sweden and Denmark combined, if not richer... - sture, on 08/31/2008, -0/+3Hey! That's totally uncalled for!
- Rudegar, on 08/31/2008, -2/+5volvo or saab ships?

- DulcetTone, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1Not viking ships, per se. Mud Pirates
- Erunas, on 08/31/2008, -1/+2Volvo is the same, at least for now. Remember that Volvo is owned by Ford. Ford and GM is same same imho.
- TheOle, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1You sir win the internet.
- frozensnake, on 08/31/2008, -2/+3WE RIDE!
- notwizt, on 08/31/2008, -1/+2How I failed engrish? Unpossible.
- randomstupid, on 09/01/2008, -0/+1"There has never been ... so many boats and in such good condition ... in Norway."
ha ... do i get a prize ? - feliks2, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1Ford doesn't ***** up their European companies nearly as much as GM does. Volvos are still rather nice I think. And look at Ason Martin. Owned by Ford (not anymore), but since they were pretty much left up to their own devices, they are some of the most beautiful cars around. And very good in other aspects as well. Great quality, luxury, performance, and a very resepctable racing program. Also Land Rover and Jaguar (probably not the best example).
- sawtooth, on 09/01/2008, -0/+1am I the only person who thought this was a new text based game?
- twigboy, on 09/01/2008, -0/+1with a headline like that, i thought at least one of em would be in-tact in some recognisable form
- passedoutghost, on 09/01/2008, -0/+0The flashes from digital cameras may sometimes damage the artefact believe it or not. That's why you're not supposed to take photos of the frescoes in Santorini and Pompeii.
- passedoutghost, on 09/01/2008, -0/+0Well I'm doing a double degree, so my other degree is law. I'm doing archaeology because I like it. So I'm paying to play in the mud, touch ancient artefacts and sue people! YAY!
