- Technopundit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Gosh, weprin, there must be something wrong with your computer. Probably a short between the headset.
Right click in broken images, then click "Show Image".
Dolt. The server's being slammed. - Apreche, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If I'm ever in a position of enough power to do so, my first act will be to bring back the World's fair. People look down on science now because it is no longer amazing or accessible. The World's Fair was/is part of the answer.

- tablatronix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Totally, i think about this everytime i hear about the world's fair, and all the stuff introduced during it. Science, foods, materials, it had a long lasting effect on our culture and was beneficial IMHO.
- ginzberg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Flushing Meadows Park... not only worlds fair location, not only where will smith killed some aliens, but also a world famous skateboard spot... granite ledges all the way around, and the infamous grate gap.

http://www.kitchenproductdeals.com/half-off-sale-o ... - lepton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was only 12 at the time but I lived a couple of miles away and went many times. It was great. Talk about your product placement! One big event was the unveiling of the JFK half dollar coin! Another, I kid you not, was the Borden pavilion presentation of the real Elsie the cow! Epcot, our "permanent World's Fair" is only a shadow of it, but it still has a couple of rides from the Fair, such as that rotating GE building one, and don't they have the robot President Lincoln? I remember the first Belgian Waffles, and the Boeing jet-pack guy, and riding in a brand new Mustang on the Futurama ride, which promised us not flying cars, but cars riding in tubes above the cities. I WAS PROMISED TUBE CARS! WHERE ARE MY TUBE CARS?!
- RickTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's funny how this story should show up today. I just happen to be working on a show this week at the Queens Theatre which is located just next to the Unisphere on the grounds of the 64-65 World's Fair. As a child I remember coming here many times and actually walking on the grounds brought back some nice memories which are now to be seen in some of the pictures linked from this Digg.
- peterlisanti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My dad actually played in a band at this world's fair.

- dandyhighwayman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Check out this guy's site as well--he was actually there!

- weprin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I am finding it generally difficult to navigate the site and view all of the photos. Sometimes when I click on a thumbnail, the page refreshes but the image does not display, I just see the thumbnails again. Other thumbnails seem to work. It appears to be random.
No digg for a poorly designed website. - vap0r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The word is NOT fair....marked as inaccurate
