Hopefully international sanctions will be instituted to oust the war criminals. Our government can't seem to police itself. - beatles901, on 07/20/2008, -17/+114Call Dennis Kucinich and tell him you support his articles of impeachment!
- seltaeb4, on 07/20/2008, -13/+91BushCo? Guilty of war crimes? Nahhh.
We never tortured anyone, either.
So, instead of torture, call it what it is—
Freedom Tickling. - 666dorado, on 07/19/2008, -21/+63TheKarmaCrip:
ummm....it's the new york times, not the new yorker, dumbass...i guess you don't read much before you start repeating some crap you heard on fox news. - krAzykrAkr01, on 07/20/2008, -9/+47NY Times not the New Yorker, moron
- jecruzs, on 07/20/2008, -7/+44The Reply button--use it.
- InvisibleInk, on 07/19/2008, -21/+55Sure, but you know a lot of other countries colluded with the Bush administration and their "extraordinary renditions."
The President's private army, the CIA, flew its clearly marked jets around the world thinking they wouldn't be spied by plane spotters and exposed for what they are, what they did, and where they did it. Their flights were tracked with great accuracy and documented. No matter how many times they sold their jets to private holding companies and changed their markings, the plane spotters were never fooled.
Countries as seemingly benign as Sweden collaborated with the CIA, in one notorious case capturing and transporting refugees from Egypt back to Egypt to be tortured. What, you thought the Egyptians were going to do our dirty work for us for free? Quid Pro Quo.
Now, officials in these dozens of allied countries need to be held accountable along with the big fish like Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Bush for these crimes, don't you think? - JeremyGrieves, on 07/20/2008, -14/+44For a view of what these war crimes look like (you dont appreciate just how horrible they actually are until you see it) follow this link. Don't if you have a weak stomach.

- dmourati, on 07/20/2008, -11/+38I thank the Red Cross for witnessing the treatment of our prisoners and the free press for reporting the findings to the public.
- rearlgrant, on 07/20/2008, -1/+25Yeah, without getting our hands dirty, this 230 year old republic would never survive.
This republic survived the burning of its capital before it was 30, a civil war in its 70s, and the armies of the Emperor and National Socialism. A few knife wielding bomb throwers, even if they manage to hijack a few planes, aren't going to bring this republic to an end -- unless we let them. Or unless you feel so insecure about the U.S. that it really can't take a punch. When Phil Grammy said Americans were whiny butts -- he was projecting. - DeskFlyer, on 07/20/2008, -18/+41Too bad he's just going to walk right into his oil-profit rich retirement with no repercussions.
- pintomp3, on 07/20/2008, -4/+26the murderer has retired with lifetime pension. that's some police work there.
- rearlgrant, on 07/20/2008, -1/+22Yeah, if one country thinks it can unilaterally institute regime change, all the others will think that's legitimate behavior also.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -9/+29Hmmm that sounds good until you realize that we didn't resort to torturing either the Nazis or Soviets who killed tens of millions of people. All torture does is make the U.S. look bad and helps to recruit terrorists it does zip to gather useable intelligence or stop terrorism. Turn off Fox and think a little, please, life isn't an episode of 24.
- artfiend77, on 07/20/2008, -3/+23Oddly enough, I'd rather it be you than them.
- myshl0ng, on 07/20/2008, -9/+28Everyone keeps saying it, but nothing is done about it. Sad, but true.
- toothcake, on 07/20/2008, -11/+28I apologize for this short and really obvious reply, but I need to let you know something.
You're an idiot. - rand0mm0nkey, on 07/20/2008, -5/+22Oh, we're fighting terrorists? I thought we were just mindlessly killing people that disagreed with us for telling them how to live their lives, how to run their countries and for them to give us all their resources and had no other recourse but to retalliate against us. My bad. Thanks for clearing that up.
- Dquist, on 07/20/2008, -0/+16Things so wrong shouldn't be so funny.
"Freedom Tickling" = pure genius. You deserve a prize. - inactive, on 07/20/2008, -8/+24If we beat the terrorists by stooping to their level have we really won?
- soccerman90, on 07/20/2008, -18/+33All the talk, all the truth, it doesnt matter. Our courts and our congress arent going to do ***** (other than kucinich and ron paul). They dont seem to care that our president has raped the law and the constitution. Why they dont care, i wish i knew.
- Hockey13, on 07/20/2008, -4/+19@Murdats
I believe what he's trying to say, or what he should be saying, is that the Constitution is sacred to him because he believes its basic structure to be an awesome thing based on freedom from government. Any group, whether national or international, should not be allowed to intrude on the sanctity of the foundation of this country. It's a shame Republicans seem to no longer stand for upholding the Constitution and few are willing to give the Libertarians a shot yet. - f821, on 07/20/2008, -19/+32What an incredible country we live in. We will impeach a president for getting a blowjob in office, but we will not impeach a president that continuously lies to us, tries to police the world's oil supply interests, and helps banks put people out of their homes.
When the ***** will American's wake up? - sk11, on 07/20/2008, -0/+13Yeah, only American leaders should be allowed to break the law.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -2/+15None at all. As long as his intended destination was a secret offshore prison.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -1/+13"Trumped Up" Bahahahahahaha
*sneeze* neurnberg *sneeze* - jecruzs, on 07/20/2008, -14/+26I really hope that was sarcasm.
- JeremyGrieves, on 07/20/2008, -8/+19I'm being dugg down? This is very much related to the article. And so is this in the washington post :
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ...
The CIA say 1/3 people detained are innocent. - KJGJ, on 07/20/2008, -13/+24"According to the book, among those who believed they might have been exposed to a pathogen was Vice President Dick Cheney."
Unfortunately the terrorists forgot that Dick Cheney isn't human, and consequently can't be killed by conventional means. - Punjabdasher, on 07/20/2008, -4/+14How many of these god damn articles make it to the front page every day? It doesn't ***** matter, nothing is going to be done because of pussy congress that is Bush's bitch. Bush could admit to committing war crimes and nothing would happen to him, so I honestly don't think anything will come of the NY Times condemning Bush for war crimes.
- hugolp, on 07/20/2008, -1/+11@Minarchian So you are against US invading countries and changing the goverment of those countries?
Or what you wanted to say is that US people is a superior and more inteligent race and they are allowed to do all that, but the rest of the humanity are inferior races and are not allowed? - sergionegro, on 07/20/2008, -16/+25Remarkable how little coverage war crimes receive in the US media.
Well, maybe not remarkable.
Anyway - if you live abroad, you know much more about the excesses of the Bush Administration. We Americans will be dealing with its legacy for decades. The Bush administration worse than any chemical or oil spill. The Bush Administration has betrayed the trust and values of our country, and the only way to address this is a vigorous prosecution of the guilty parties. A clean-up.
Read the latest Nation article for a nice summation of the legal foundation of this argument and a concise explanation of why this is necessary. - rearlgrant, on 07/20/2008, -1/+10Like any good prosecution, start with the little fish and work your way up.
Yep, I can't wait to see how loyal the leaders of the "Coalition of the Willing" are to Bush and how well they model the Republican family-value of taking personal responsibility for your actions. - inactive, on 07/20/2008, -9/+18I don't know why they are digging you down without courageous journalists and human rights activists American democracy and even human decency is sunk.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -7/+16War crime profiteering lobbyists ring a bell?
- egoideal, on 07/20/2008, -2/+10The correct answer is "No." Jackson, it is in times like these that we must adhere to this country's founding principles more then ever.
- Minters, on 07/20/2008, -15/+23Buried for innaccuracy. The Bush administration is not guilty of war crimes, they have simply been accused of war crimes. There is a big difference. Its not exactly news either, as most of the planet has been accusing them of war crimes since thy first stuck POWs in Guantanemo Bay.
- pintomp3, on 07/20/2008, -0/+8how about the innocent guy who were sold the US for a ransom?
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -0/+8Yep pro war crime bury brigade, creepy. :(
- HaoTian, on 07/20/2008, -0/+8The "terrorists" are not the threat to the "republic". Its own complacent gluttony is.
- Lulzkillah, on 07/20/2008, -16/+23No *****.
- asus2000, on 07/20/2008, -0/+7? What..
Bush isn't running for a third term. Anyway how is that by any stretch a punishment? - RabidAngel, on 07/20/2008, -7/+14I honestly don't know why you were dugg down. I thought maybe it was a rickroll or something equally lame but no, it's the real deal. Perhaps people reacted negatively because they simply couldn't stomach the reality of what the current Administration is responsible for. If so, that's tragic and pathetic. Dugg.
- khail250, on 07/20/2008, -0/+6Don't like freedom? tickle more!
- drape, on 07/20/2008, -12/+18Which is why they wanted to replace the justice department with neocon/confederate sympathisers.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -0/+6We're no strangers to love...
- JeremyGrieves, on 07/20/2008, -8/+14There is something very strange going on here that all the good comments are being burried.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -13/+19One words CONs choke on;
