- Hamsterpotpies, on 06/22/2009, -15/+562Neda, you're the face of freedom in Iran.
- wannarto, on 06/22/2009, -7/+368Remember, Iran! The world is watching!
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -12/+338FTA: "Alleged killing". She was killed, no question about that.
Do not forget. Tell the world.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs79cLSduXw - SwiftKick34, on 06/22/2009, -17/+228Neda may have been murdered, but her voice has just begun to shout.
- The0, on 06/22/2009, -6/+205She will not be forgotten.
- Nintendesert, on 06/22/2009, -13/+187"Alleged" "Apparently" "Unverified" "Unnamed" "Presumably" That ***** is hard to read. We all saw what happened. I am all for responsible reporting, but when people are making a stand, dying and fighting for their elections and democracy we can't even get a Wiki article that has the balls enough to state what we saw and what happened.
"Alleged Photo." Come on. Really? - TexasKoz, on 06/22/2009, -18/+190We Love you Neda!!
- Dragonskies, on 06/22/2009, -4/+154I'm glad to see that Youtube hasn't removed these videos, albeit how graphic they are. The Iranian government is trying to do all it can to cover up what's really happening over there. This information needs to get out. The world needs to know the truth.
- TheVirus, on 06/22/2009, -9/+145She was beautiful. Rest in Peace, Neda.
- skidork, on 06/22/2009, -11/+131At the very least, the world has lost someone that dared to love freedom, in a place where such a thing is illegal. Her contribution will be remembered for a long time.
- 9enisP, on 06/22/2009, -8/+112Goddammit. I hate reading this and seeing Bruno's stupid face and AT&T's ads surrounding the link. I feel like I'm on the wrong side of everything right now.
- Gravity12, on 06/22/2009, -4/+85Rest in Peace.
- OneFreespirit, on 06/22/2009, -3/+75Isn't dumb saying dumb stuff? Just saying.
- doom777, on 06/22/2009, -6/+75this is pretty unverified info. Let's say for argument's sake, that protesters killed her and made it seem like Basij did. It would make Wikipedia look pretty stupid, to claim otherwise, when it's not the case.
Bottom line is, as much as I sympathisze with Neda and the rest of the anti-Houmeini protestors, a lot of the info has not passed basic journalistic verification. - falser, on 06/22/2009, -3/+69The way she looked at the camera just before dying really spooked me.
- darthbutcher, on 06/22/2009, -7/+70Neda means "voice" in Farsi. She has become the Voice of this Revolution.
- BinaryFragger, on 06/22/2009, -6/+69Welcome to my block list.
Just saying. - diggydougie, on 06/22/2009, -1/+58I expect to be dugg down for even mentioning this but...
When people die in most movies they have a little blood that they spit up and I always thought that was fake looking.
The way the blood came out of her mouth and nose was very disturbing. Quite different from the way the movies portray it. - bromac, on 06/22/2009, -8/+56God speed, and may you rest in peace. What you have given in death is more than most give in their entire lives.
- Filter, on 06/22/2009, -2/+50She certainly doesn't represent an individual or even a small number of individuals... she represents the basic human necessity of freedom. She represents us all.
- Totenkopf88, on 06/22/2009, -8/+51We salute to you.
- coelomate, on 06/22/2009, -9/+51Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - lilhelper, on 06/22/2009, -7/+44You should be replaced with someone who isn't a complete idiot.
- Phil1ip123, on 06/22/2009, -4/+40Your death isn't in vain.
Neda, the voice of freedom, has been heard around the world.
R.I.P. - inactive, on 06/22/2009, -3/+38not cool. watch the video, then come back and amend your statement maybe.
- MarshmellowGirl, on 06/22/2009, -7/+42God bless you Neda. May you rest in peace.
- DivineMonkey, on 06/22/2009, -4/+38Man, she was the same age as me. I would normally say 'so what' to people who say that, but somehow it changes my perspective.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -2/+35Why? Or would you rather just be relegated to a sarcastic contrarian nimrod?
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -6/+39It's sad that the political workings of a foreign country are more obvious than those of my own. It's even sadder when I realize that the two are fundamentally connected.
- mitikomon, on 06/22/2009, -2/+29The correct English name is Persian. "Farsi" is what we call it in Iran. like German and Deutsch.
- manaf, on 06/22/2009, -0/+26neda
نداء
Actually means "a call".
It is originally Arabic. - the3stars, on 06/22/2009, -3/+29What is the matter with you?
- jjesusfreak01, on 06/22/2009, -0/+26Fixed that part, it now reads, "whose killing, allegedly by Basij militia..."
We know she was killed, they just cant confirm who actually did it. Ill probably be reverted in the next 2 seconds. - dixta, on 06/22/2009, -1/+27No, she's a symbol because her death was filmed and distributed as a message to the world about what's going on in Iran.... she's a representative for those who died exercising their rights. Don't undermine or marginalise that.... her death could (hopefully) be the first catalyst of real change in an oppressed society.
- The0, on 06/22/2009, -5/+30You're a bad person.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -3/+28I wonder why you even thought to state such a mundane and trivial thought.
- aoio, on 06/22/2009, -4/+28Her death isn't going to be in vain.
- SoulGrub, on 06/22/2009, -0/+24You know the whole point of wikipedia is that if you have refuting facts on any particular article, they can be presented and the article subsequently changed. The articles end up generally fact-based, and if not they are easily remedied. Without some large organized effort to distort the system, it ends up being more reliable than the records of individuals and small groups of people.
- ZiggyPlayedG, on 06/22/2009, -1/+24Blocked for being a moron. Seriously people, whenever you see someone like this, digg them down. Digg is being invaded by idiots. Let them know that they're not welcome here.
- DougWare, on 06/22/2009, -0/+23This video upsets me, not because of the graphic nature, but because this lady died doing something that we as Americans take for granted...our right to protest.
It's extremely sad what is happening in Iran, but perhaps this beautiful young lady's death will be a rallying cry and the reasonable and responsible people in Iran will step up and end the horrible dictatorship in Iran.
I also hope that everyone in America will realize how lucky we are, and that we never let anyone take our right to protest away.
God bless America, Neda Agha Soltan, her family and the oppressed in Iran. - raydeen, on 06/22/2009, -3/+26Congratulations. You just got the Low Score.
- mohsenxp, on 06/22/2009, -1/+23Stop with the corny ***** already.
Mourne this woman's death, if her death has helped you empathise with the struggle of the Iranian youth then that is a good thing. But please don't fall into the trap of martyr worshipping.
I ask you to consider this, would you be as passionate about what is going on in Iran if you hadn't seen this video?
As an Iranian it breaks my heart to see that video, and in many ways I wish I hadn't, but I also do not lose sight of the bigger picture here. Many diggers seem to have. - inactive, on 06/22/2009, -8/+30Give'm a break will you? Suggest corrections. Their hearts are in the right place.
- The0, on 06/22/2009, -5/+27You're a bad person.
- OpeyKicksAss, on 06/22/2009, -4/+26You look stupid.
- Scopalamine, on 06/22/2009, -1/+22Give it about 6 months--maybe sooner --im always surprised how fast people forget about important events when they don't have a stake in them... its really very sad
though it seems like im trivializing this young womans death, im trying not to, i just wish it was possible for people to remember these type of people--those who gave their life for causes they believe in
case-in-point: name a family who had a member killed in the jan-feb Israel/ Palestine conflict - inactive, on 06/22/2009, -6/+27Neda died with her eyes open. Don't live with your eyes closed.
- lilhelper, on 06/22/2009, -2/+21Neda, your death will fuel an entire nation to rebel against their oppressive government.
You will not be forgotten, and you will go down in history as the woman who saved Iran. - norman619, on 06/22/2009, -7/+26She is a martyr not a hero. People misuse the word "Hero" so much that people seem to have forgotten what it actually means.
- TheCollective00, on 06/22/2009, -1/+19Look up the video of Budd Dwyer killing himself in front of a room full of people...he shoots the gun into his mouth and slumps to the ground, a second later a waterfall of blood comes gushing out of his nose and mouth. Yes, real life is much more graphic than the movies.
