National news media burying amazing oil breakthrough?
worldnetdaily.com — It could potentially be one of the biggest energy breakthroughs in history – genetically manipulating bacteria to quickly convert anything that grows out of the Earth into oil. But the biggest names in the national media have thus far not provided coverage of this possible solution to skyrocketing gas prices and Ameria's long-term energy security

- eir574, on 04/17/2008, -10/+2I have no idea why this article is saying that the media has not been covering biofuels. More coverage would always be nice, but here's a link to a google news search for "biofuels:"
http://news.google.com/news?client=safari&rls=en-u ...
cnn search results: http://search.cnn.com/search.jsp?query=biofuels&ty ...- InRussetShadows, on 04/17/2008, -2/+12Because it's not biofuels generally, but rather a very specific kind of biofuel, according to the summary. *shaking head*
- eir574, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2My point is that there's no conspiracy to bury biofuels. This one just hasn't been picked up by the media. I don't know why, but I doubt there's some nefarious purpose behind that.
- animalwheeler, on 04/17/2008, -0/+15Oh, the media hypes up finding "alternative energy sources", but when it comes to covering something might take away form the 'bread-n-butter' companies that help fund the media, suddenly it all crickets out there.
We get the hoax of 'Global Warming' shoved down our throats daily, and any chance, no matter how long of a shot(like the whole thing) gets coverage. But when something this big comes along, then nothing. It could possibly do vastly great things for our economy, and for the environment (no drilling).
I guess that shows where the money sits, with the get rich off of 'green' scare tactics, and hoax 'credits'; not in finding any actual alternatives.- JustDino, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Good Digg: You are right about what drives the media as well as what drives our representation--Money.
The constitution reads (only Congress has authority to Coin our money and set the value--and it is to be backed by Gold and Silver. If they know this(and they do) they are treasonous to their oath of office. There is no constitutional way for Congress to usurp their duty to the private bankers at the Federal Reserve which charges our government interest to use their monopoly money. American money has no interest on it.

- werwolf96, on 04/17/2008, -2/+12The reason the media doesn't reporting this, is because the Democrats still didn't figure out the way on how to use this against the Republicans. Remember the media template: Everything that makes conservatives look bad - goes to front news.
- davharrington, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3I wish I hadn't read your post,, how depressing is that! =(
Sad depressing, but true - strafefire, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Buried for inaccuracy. Media does not cover what makes their biggest sponsors look bad.
- davharrington, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3I wish I hadn't read your post,, how depressing is that! =(
- CCoburn3, on 04/17/2008, -0/+11There is no need for the media to cover this guy's invention since it is not viable technology and never will be.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that his invention doesn't work. It probably does. But there's another technology out that that will cheaply turn anything that has carbon in it to oil.
They built a pilot plant in Missouri that converted turkey guts into oil. The government shut them down. Every time they met the government's requirements, they government came up with new requirements. They are talking about moving production to Europe because they simply cannot get the regulators off their backs.
As long as the oil companies own the federal government, we will never have a viable technology to make our own oil. They make sure of that.- DavidHalko, on 04/29/2008, -0/+4That's over-regulation for you, from the liberals in government!
- DesertDad, on 04/17/2008, -1/+4I'm not sure if one month of silence is much of an object in this case. Remember the hoopla over cold fusion back in '89 or '90? The press really got egg on their collective bibs over that one. Add to that the scam-a-week in energy generation IPOs and such, and some circumspection is in order. Oh, and some of the energy generation ideas are biomass conversion. The point is appropriate that any of us can make oil with some vegetables and a pressure cooker, just viciously expensive oil, and very little at that.
On the other hand, thirty years ago, bio-leaching of metals from ores was only a collection of research projects. It now is common industrial practice. What will be quite interesting is whether private investors are stepping up to the plate on this line of research. Evidently some are, and $30M will be a pittance to some of those players. If Dr. Bell's theory will support an economic means of production, it certainly will get us away from the ludicrous politics of using food to fill gas tanks. Much wiser to use waste for that.
My hope would be that he can pull this off on his own, without being beholden to either the state or federal government. It is nice to read he apparently has patented a process, so perhaps now it only will come down to the successful pilot operation. Could be interesting to watch.
Oh, and who cares if the mainline media has not noticed? The net is just fine, and nowadays seems to be ahead of the mainliners by a mile. The mainliners never seem to get it right anyway (cold fusion redux), so just keep yours eyes on WND and the technical journals. Also, I would bet the investment rags will cover this more completely and honestly than the Madison Avenue/Hollywood Axis of Disinformation. - Libertarian, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7If he can produce oil at a competitive price he doesn't need publicity. All he needs to do is start producing the oil and rake in the profits.
- superRoot, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Raking in the profits? I don't think existing oil companies would be comfortable losing market share to these kinds of technologies. IF we had a free market and IF politicians weren't influenced so heavily by corporate interests, this kind of technology could perhaps rake in profits. I don't think existing oil companies will let that happen, and they will use their political influence (cash) to squash any attempt by this guy to become profitable.
- helpe, on 04/17/2008, -3/+5Big time operators own Bush and tell him what to do and one of the biggest are the oil companies which he is a part of as his Dad was. I do feel that his Dad was a much better president though with not near the corruption. The government will find it convenient to shut anything down that is not helping in their globalist agenda as what is happening in the US. Inflation is tearing us up. They need to bankrupt the country first so that they can go ahead with their agenda of a North American Union. Our freedoms will be gone and we will be under a dictator and a third class nation. Therefore since the Republican party has sold us into poverty give the Constitution Party a check out. They have some good men running. If they would set up a situation where they have Ron Paul as a presidential pick and Alan Keyes as Vice President I do believe they would win.
- victorypup, on 04/17/2008, -1/+4I agree, Bush has gutted this country for the globalist money interests. The New World Oder is all set up to pick up the pieces. The Demopublican party is in a win win position unless we get a viable third party candidate. It's still looking like Hitlery will be our next globalist promoter.
- Jeff82, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Will it be Socialist #1 or Socialist #2? Sorry. I can't do it. I'll vote my conscience and let the chips fall where they may. Regardless, He is in control and His will will be done.
Now, will it be Paul or Keyes... ?

- Hiwaycruzer, on 04/17/2008, -2/+5The oil companies, bankers, and powerful, influential billionaires don't want this story to make headlines. They would lose too much money. Think about the whole oil recovery industry (Halliburton, Dick Cheney), the drilling rigs, the support businesses, and the thousands of people involved. Now think about the reason we're in the Middle East (oil recovery), and think about big business, defense contractors, weapons manufacturers, outfits like Blackwater, and the thousands of people involved protecting our interests, not to mention the international bankers who finance all of this. How do you think they would react to someone telling them; "Excuse me, but we can stop all this expensive drilling and killing, because we've discovered a cheap, efficient method of extracting oil from anything that grows out of the ground..." Their apple cart would be upset in a major way. The truth is, they're making too much money getting oil the old-fashioned way, and they don't want to change the status quo. The fact that this new oil manufacturing method is good for the planet and good for American citizens does not figure into big business's equation...
- victorypup, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2Oil money dictates every thing Judas George does. More research effort could go into HHO gas, but then the Oil barons haven't figured out how to control the sale of water.
- mak747, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Unlimited oil production, and the lower prices that would follow, are the bane of the MSM, who are largely (if not entirely) in the back pocket of the "environmental" socialists. Never forget the underlying motive of these people. They seek to limit individual freedom. High fuel costs do just that. If you don't believe this, watch the TV talking heads tell you about rising fuel prices. It's all they can do to hide their self-satisfied smirks. The parrots and sheep in the environmental movement echo this sentiment. To them, burning oil is the biggest threat to Mother Earth to ever come down the pike. Keeping it in restricted availability suits them just fine. What we have here is a double-whammy. The uninformed moonbats who consider oil to be the scourge of the earth shudder at the thought of an abundant supply of oil and its resultant lower costs, which to them will cause more of it to be used. The enviro-Communists want to control our freedom of mobility as they gradually work to turn the US into a third-world country. High prices and reduced quantity satisfy the desires of both camps. The MSM acts as the mouthpiece for these camps, so why on God's green eath would they want to let the public in on this? There must be something to this, else it'd make the news. Globalism and the environmental movement- the scourge of life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness.
- srevie, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5This is the biggest energy news that has come out since the discovery of oil. It should lead the network news. It just does not meet the agenda of the left wing news organizations.
- davharrington, on 04/17/2008, -4/+3ALL YOU HAD TO DO was put in the description that this could "cripple" the BUSCO "bush chimp hitler's" oil money. The little "Ron Paul" tag doesn't get you 17 plus diggs anymore for some reason.
Why not say it's part of the 911 conspiracy! that'd get front page- davharrington, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2do you get this part?????
"Why not say it's part of the 911 conspiracy! that'd get front page"

- DrReaper, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Time will tell what happens to this invention. If I were the inventor and I had something this powerful and could change the world I would consider releasing it on the internet after the government shuts me down. I think the will be the end to this story, the government will shut them down. I hope I am wrong about that but it seems government control is they way things are done in todays world. I read about the turkey oil production.. I didn't know it was put out of business by our governmnet.
