- LemurHorde, on 10/12/2007, -1/+124This website is dedicated to stories about feral children, some of whom were raised by animals. It also discusses some relevant child psycology. (never said it was a pretty looking webpage)

One interesting historical case is the story of Amala and Kamala, two Indian girls who were "kidnapped" and raised by wolves.
http://www.feralchildren.com/en/showchild.php?ch=kamala
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amala_and_Kamala
Stealing straight from the wiki:
"Kamala and Amala both exhibited wolf-like behaviors. Both girls had developed thick calluses on their palms and knees from having walked on all fours. The girls were mostly nocturnal, had an aversion to sunshine, and could see very well in the dark. They also exhibited an acute sense of smell and an enhanced ability to hear. The girls enjoyed the taste of raw meat and would eat out of a bowl on the ground, much like dogs. In addition, the girls exhibited a hypersensitivity to touch, and hated wearing clothes. In fact, they seemed to be insensitive to cold and heat. The young girls appeared to show few human emotions of any kind, apart from fear." - Mootabolife, on 10/12/2007, -3/+94The naked in the title makes all the difference.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+79Geez people on digg are so lazy. Its fine to just copy and paste from the article into the description, but at least have the decency to end with a full sentence. This is like the 50th time I've seen descriptions just end halfway into the sentence and its

"The young girls appeared to show few human emotions of any kind, apart from fear."
this isn't that special. most of my dates end this way. - draebor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35I think there should be a rule against using the word 'naked' in a heading unless there are pics with the story.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25I like the lone comment on the site, "I keep running into chicks like that."
- scabbers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24The first thing she did was draw an iPhone in the dirt, and point at it excitedly
- EruLabs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27by far the best _funniest_ part of all this is the first and only comment on that news story
- Joab, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23The sad thing is she will probably now live the next five years being poked and prodded by scientists looking to get a paper on her and the rest probably in a asilum. More then likely she was better off in the jungle

Mindshock: Feral Children video.
Very interesting watch that will help explain what this is all about. - nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Pics:

including a picture, for those who really wanted one so badly. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Once she realizes the ***** up world she's just been brought into, she'll head straight back into the jungle.
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"The young girls appeared to show few human emotions of any kind, apart from fear."
So they became Republicans? - sdrawkcaB, on 10/12/2007, -16/+25"Hey guys, wanna go capture some naked chick I found in the jungle the other day?" I can just see their response "Well, hells yeah we do!"
- clickwir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Yea, buffalo in the jungle.... wtf.
- pmace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I like how the picture of Helen Mirren comes up with the article. I had no idea she had been lost for so long.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Pissing me off?
- dwang1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"Rochom P'ngieng, then 8 years old,
disappeared in 1988 when she was
herding buffalo in a remote jungle area,"
Doesn't anyone find this part just a little odd??? - thekarmastrike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Since being found, the woman has had difficulty adjusting to normal life, apparently because of her long stay in the wild.
Normal life? Running around in the wild is her normal life. Maybe she liked it?
We're such an arrogant species - assuming that we should assimilate everyone into our society. - jamsea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I was expecting this comment to show up and one of the first 5 :P
- Akaricloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7She was half monkey dude, obviously she used vines.
- kristablaken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I know 'pics or it didn't happen' is generally a pretty retarded comment, but come on, if they can describe her in so much detail, why not just one of them take a photograph? Are they afraid she'll look up, surprised, and leap on the photographer with claws ready, also like 'tiger'.
- overacid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I've been to Cambodia and you are heavily warned by signs and the locals not to stray from the beaten track or you'll end up like the millions who have lost limbs or life.
How the HELL did she survive 19 years in the Cambodian jungle without setting off a land mine? There are approx. 9 million live landmines still active in the Cambodian jungle. I'm not sure of the official statistics but i think it's about 10-20 are accidentally detonated per day. (this was from memory of visiting a landmine museum in Siem Reap) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9how can I be expected to post my inane jokes when the rest of you ***** are so clever?
btw joab, "poked and prodded" made your comment worth while. - Xarou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Not necessarily, he could have keep on going such as "and its lack of sentence structure is annoying"
- rwheeler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Dear diary......JACKPOT!
- TheAkolyte, on 10/12/2007, -10/+15Wow, I always wondered if it was possible for a human to survive as such. I'd wager she's insane from years of isolation (among other things.) But an interesting prospect, none-the-less.
- superguysteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I heard they gave her Jodie Foster's Oscar.
"chicka chicka chickabee!"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110638 - spz104, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Photographs or the event did not occur
- saladtossser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6FINALLY an adult human with real instincts
- TheAkolyte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5That is the way of humans, it's what makes us, us.
- TheAkolyte, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6After seeing the "dog-child" I thought, it was not that she (he?) was "raised by dogs, to act like dogs" but rather, she went insane from living with dogs for 6 years.
Actually, after thinking about it, I wonder if those dogs hit that. - clickwir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You'd think she'd have had some time to work out or something. At least get a little makeup on.
- firemillen2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4She must have had a blowdryer in the jungle. That's Jackie-Oish.
- Xarou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Um, I found a discrepancy. In the main article, it said the cut was on her arm. In the one linked above, it said it was on her back.
- CountC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Good game, you win.
- Chrissilvanet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Sal Lou said his family was now closely watching the woman after she took off her clothes"
Hmmm...disturbing and delightful at the same time. - clickwir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Seriously. News sites need to wise up. I want to see some pics here. It helps make it more real. No pics is for fiction books where I make up just how temptingly tight her top is.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Ya know, she might be able to re-adapt...
- overacid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I totally agree.
I'm sure she would've experienced life the way it's supposed to be experienced. Pure. No *****. Fighting for every moment of survival. Imagine all the techniques she would've had to learn in order to survive for as long as she did. Eventually she would become one with her environment and understand a lot more about it than we do. (Anyone that has taken magic mushrooms or had a decent acid trip will vouch for this.) Yes, we are an arrogant species to assume that we should assimilate everyone into our society.
It even says in the article that at one point she takes off her clothes and attempts to head back into the jungle. I don't blame her. It's either the green jungle or a concrete one. - rtini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I sure love the "block" feature in digg.
- fitchmicah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3leave it to fox to have the highest quality photographs
- kuzotz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@samfernandez
Um little kids here int he US that live in rural areas have a knife they use as a tool, and they play with it meaning they use it to construct stuff or carve stuff. That's what they meant by playing with the knife.. -
