- Minarchian, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2I'll be waiting for the hundreds of stories piling in from NYC about botched police raids, innocent people being stripped searched and even shot, all based on scant evidence from amateur photographers.
This is yet another "snitch on your neighbor" program put forth by a police dept running out of "criminals" to beat the hell out of. - aristone, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1I'm with you Minarchian.
It's not inconceivable that videos uploaded showing NYPD in a bad light could be suppressed. Would it be far-fetched that the uploaded video then becomes property of NYPD? If the video was then uploaded to youtube, that person could be subject to legal ramifications such as violation of DMCA (and NYPD could have youtube delete the video, even if it was a wrongful accusation). Or that person could be charged with obstruction for impeding an investigation. Could the NYPD get a judge to issue a gag order and kill the video?
