- carpespasm, on 10/16/2007, -0/+13they have *some* internet access back. They're still getting blocked from any non-local news sites, and I would imagine any sites that can be used to spread news of what's happening.
- Richandler, on 10/15/2007, -0/+11They will never get their freedom till they endlessly riot.
- refreshers, on 10/16/2007, -5/+16They obviously needed their porn back
- luskin, on 10/15/2007, -1/+11Myanmar is what real fascism looks like.
- credence, on 10/15/2007, -0/+8Apologies if my sarcasm detector is on the fritz, but yes, in Myanmar at least. The junta there cut off net access as video of the crackdowns going on spread and created friction for them.
- zyklon, on 10/15/2007, -1/+8Kill yourself. End your pathetic life. You're not hardened, you're not tough. You're just a piece of ***** on the internet.
- emceepecks, on 10/15/2007, -1/+7"you most likely know it as Myanmar, but it will always be Burma to me"
- ruley, on 10/15/2007, -1/+7welcome to my ban list. you and the truthers can have fun there
- ruley, on 10/15/2007, -0/+6I wish we never invaded Iraq, so we would have the troops to spread democracy to people that actually want it
- zachblume, on 10/16/2007, -0/+5I wonder if FTP uploading is blocked. Probably not. Evil generals are usually non-technically inclined.
- ruley, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5i dont know, according to Tolkien, trolls have tough skin.
- SwissCamel, on 10/15/2007, -4/+9But they got their internet back, right?
- Skip742, on 10/15/2007, -1/+5The really cool thing is that they don't care about you either. Neither does anybody here. You are the image of a true loser.
- zyklon, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4I'm a very unsympathetic person when it comes to this kind of thing... but I have true, genuine sympathy for the Burmese. There is no ***** excuse for their gvoernment to be doing these things.
- ruley, on 10/16/2007, -1/+4PM me for information
- mrminty, on 10/15/2007, -1/+4Oh good, now that they have their access back they can discover how everyone has been glossing over most of the terrible stuff that's been happening.
- Skip742, on 10/15/2007, -0/+3I'm amazed that the military is able to hold power. Their actions recently show that they are nothing but cowards. What kind of person with any real power is afraid of Buddhist monks? I think they will kill many more people before they themselves die, but their future is sealed. They can't hold power forever in this way unless they just kill everybody. And, if they do that, they'll have nobody to do their work for them.
- Crimsoneer, on 10/15/2007, -0/+2Thankfully, we can still watch porn here.
- theoallardyce, on 10/15/2007, -0/+2Well that's good, now its time for people to start uploading the video and pictures they've saved in the last week.
Down with the Burmese government! - Beveridge89, on 10/15/2007, -0/+1Iraqis want freedom, but it is coupled with the desire for stability. Until we can provide that, talk of democracy is useless.
In any case, invading Burma would have brought up a worse opposition, since they would have been backed by China. - KalvinAlexander, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1Use black market money transfer service .. it's only 5% and if you are big customer over 10 mil + .. it will be less than 5%. Safety granteed. But frankly speaking .. if you are rich that much you don't need to smuggle these money out.
I know you are not from myanmar and I know you do some jokes ... it's funny that your idea was incorrect in many ways.
1. wrong direction of cash flow
2. if the cash flow was correct, the amout was funny
3. No currency shown, if it's in mm currency it's a stupid joke.
4. If in US $, you don't need to go around, you can get your own heaven locally with such cash. ( You can get things which you can't get in US/UK/Canada or Ausi ) - Alex2, on 10/15/2007, -0/+1It's odd that a Canada.com news story would refer to the country as Myanmar. Canada's offical position is that we don't recognize the new name given to Burma by the current government.
- Woaz, on 10/15/2007, -1/+2Perhaps this is the first step in reaching peace? Probably not.
- Comatose51, on 10/15/2007, -0/+1Sweet. Now we can expect Youtube videos of human rights violations and the crushing of democracy by a military junta!
- LRG1, on 10/15/2007, -2/+3Facebook > democracy
- fixedcoma, on 10/15/2007, -0/+1They are still communists to me after these incidents! Boycott Myanmar!
- ubergeek09, on 10/15/2007, -2/+1They got access to the internet back at least.. But it must really stink to have to live there..
- LRG1, on 10/15/2007, -2/+1At least they can get back on Facebook
- icegoddess13, on 10/15/2007, -4/+2Myanmar may be what real fascism looks like, but we're steadily getting to that point here...
- jizzlies, on 10/15/2007, -6/+2People can never truly be free until they have access to ESPN, facebook, http://www.bofads.com and porn sites.
- tehrob, on 10/15/2007, -16/+4The internet was down?
