online.wsj.com — "Waving the bloody shirt" was the phrase once used to describe the standard demagogic tactic of the late 19th century, when memories of the Civil War were still vivid and loyalists of both parties could be moved to "vote as they shot." As the years passed and the memories faded, the shirt got gorier, the waving more frantic.

- issaccheriyathu, on 10/15/2008, -2/+13I went to UIC and I've met this guy on campus during some talks and stuff , no I never took his course, but what I have found is that he is a genuine man with ideas for betterment of education.
Having born in early 80s I too have only heard about the anarchy of the 60s. And never remembered the name of the weathermen or anything like that. So, later, when these issues started coming up connecting Obama to this "domestic terrorist", I could not disagree more.
