This is not for the squeamish, it might really disturb you:

This makes me really angry. You know, this doesn't make me scared, so much as it really pisses me off. I was kinda pissed off before, but now I've just about had it with "humanity". These kinds of terrorists are without a doubt the scum of the earth.
I feel for each and every person who lived through that day first hand, second or never more. - GeeksSpeakFont, on 12/01/2008, -1/+32These photographs are so stunning. Number 22 is pretty heartbreaking though.
- GetShorty, on 12/01/2008, -4/+29Great pictures, especially this one

What a shame. - kingofinternet, on 12/03/2008, -0/+20the kid in 22 breaks my heart. makes you think of all the people left orphans, and that even the terrorists were like him once. a shame.
boston.com always has these great non-slideshow photo compilations. kudos to them. - dgcarbs, on 12/03/2008, -0/+14awesome photography, but a terrible sight to see
- cware, on 12/02/2008, -0/+11There are no words that describe the feelings brought on by looking at these photos. #22 is so sad. so sad.
- cathpah, on 12/03/2008, -0/+10As a professional photographer with multiple years of travel photography under my belt, including a lot of time in India....I gotta say, some of these shots are ***** fantastic. Truly captures what India is like, along with their rebuilding process. thanks for sharing.
- MercenaryMuffin, on 12/03/2008, -0/+10Photo number 29 was heartbreaking. On a brighter note, did anyone notice the cat in #32?
- sanman, on 12/03/2008, -0/+9Take a look at the vid in this BBC article (only viewable in IE):
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7760005.stm
They were facing terrorists with AK-47s, and look at what they had:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee-Enfield
2 terrorists, each with an AK-47/AK-56
2 cops, with only 1 Enfield .303 between them.
And they didn't run for their lives, to abandon the public.
And these guys make very little.
Now that takes big balls. - Devdude30, on 12/03/2008, -0/+9Get out.
- bonk2k, on 12/03/2008, -0/+9God I love boston.com
- eviljolly, on 12/03/2008, -0/+8Nobody deserves this...
- BurnedKirby, on 12/03/2008, -0/+8Is it wrong for me to feel that picture number 3 seems so bad-ass even though what has happened?
- hurrayforschool, on 12/03/2008, -0/+7They are bad-ass. Anyone who puts their life on the line to deal with senseless offenders who are willing (and in this case, intending) to fight to the death is a hero.
One of my favorite pictures I've seen so far is of a combat-weary commando signing autographs on a bus after the siege was over, surrounded by hundreds of appreciative Indians. - Czechxican, on 12/03/2008, -0/+7While it is tragic, we must remember that only a few perpetrated this act, and these photos show the greater heroism of humanity in the face of evil.
- orangester, on 12/03/2008, -0/+6Pic #30 is just heartbreaking...
***** anyone who thinks murdering innocent, unarmed civilians is acceptable, and may they burn for an eternity in whatever hell they believe in. - ULBouzi, on 12/03/2008, -0/+6No, it is badass indeed.
- hurrayforschool, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5Half of those pictures are heartbreaking, and I resent that the majority of the viewers focus on the orphaned jewish boy, who, as tragic as his story is (and it certainly is), doesn't show the full story or give outsiders a sense of what the community is dealing with.
Everyone seems to be moved by number 22, but I think the reality sinks in when you view 25-30, as well as the picture at the end. Indians as a whole were impacted by the nature of this terrible violence , and I cannot imagine what they're going through right now. - shaba1, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5I want all my fellow Indians to be strong and we will come over this...Jai Hind!
- digitalpencil, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5God's work huh? there really aren't words that can put something like this into perspective.. i have no profound opinion, no eloquent quote or phrase that deserves this situation. Suffice to say that looking at these pictures and reading the short descriptions surrounding each of them just makes me really sad. Sad for the friends and families of those lost and sad for the poor souls who actually believe this abhorrent crime will one day benefit mankind.. that they are performing an honourable task.
It's not like anyone affected is ever going to read these words so it seems somewhat futile but i'm really, really sorry for them.. my thoughts are with you. - tinymarae, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5
Picture#30 The boy hasn't been told about the death of his parents and relatives.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/12/01/attack ...
There is some heart wrenching story behind every picture. - shawnsonium, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5Spectacular photos, and by far the best page layout for photos I've ever seen.
- indubitably, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4what's so funny 'bout peace, love, and understanding?
- calebian, on 12/03/2008, -2/+6When will terrorists realize that when they carry out these atrocities it tends to bring people together. People start to believe in peace more than ever.
- Halsfield, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4dont limit it to indians. everyone needs to band together to stop this.
- sanman, on 12/02/2008, -1/+5http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIRENppqxQw
talk about a tough job - Coolone84, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4Did anyone else notice the one with the Muslims rallying against the attack?
http://cache.boston.com/universal/site_graphics/bl ...
I wonder how often that happens without it being reported? - teemingvoid, on 12/03/2008, -1/+4take consolation in the millions of people who came together to mourn the tragedies on foreign soil and to help the victims of these acts. I hope the little boy in the 22nd picture will be received into a loving family. I'm so happy that his female Indian rescuer has taken the initiative to see to his safety.
- d2002, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3Stunning photos but a warning to folks--some of it is quite heartbreaking.
- darny, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3#10. Wow, #10.
and #26. - Incman, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3Tragic..
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3lol I like how he is just caring the gun around by the barrel in 20 seconds, that guy in the vid sounds like such a bad ass.
- DIGGADEEP, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3teh cat on the rubber dingy in pic 32 is sad
- stoneage, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2the link above was posted to digg just after the attacks, so if you want to digg it, here's the original post
http://digg.com/world_news/Mumbai_under_attack_PIC ... - inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2uhh, aren't the identities of those indian commandos supposed to be kept confidential?? ie, by not showing their face?
- wondertwins, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2i congratulate the person whoever designed the web page layout of the photo. No clicking to see the next page just scroll down. very awe inspiring photos
- hmunkey, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2I have faith in humanity as a whole. It's unfortunate that with our self-awareness and intelligence some of us still do things like this.
- rohan1234, on 12/03/2008, -0/+127 is so sad
- meghalc, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Maybe theyre not supposed to be there?!
- ORBAT, on 12/02/2008, -4/+5I don't have much faith in the human species anymore.
- BingoPower, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1This is a poignant collection of pictures and should serve notice to anyone sane as to why terrorism is wrong and the why the perpetrators, their financiers, their supporters and anyone remotely sympathetic should be thrown in a dark hole for the rest of their miserable lives.
- meghalc, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1I thought Commandos are kind of like the SWAT team in the States.
- aubuchonz, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1
Those were some powerful Images and I pray for everyone that is suffering. Peace be with you. - Halsfield, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1so they dont get identified and targeted by terrorists as part of some kind of crazy "revenge" for them trying to stop the terrorists from committing their terror attack.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1From what non-violence?
- erichh, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1We have had enough! India should wake up from its slumber and the whole world should support any initiative to avert future attacks.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1SWAT are trained police officers
The commandos are the special forces of the indian army, and i think most if not all of the special forces around the world keep their identities a secret - matters5, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Just curious: Why do the police cover their faces in some of these photos? I can understand why commandos might, but why police officers?
- NotYourProdigy, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1So its obviously a good thing the U.S.'s security forces are fairly bad ass.
