More Airport Idiocy
breitbart.com — As we all know on 9-11-01 disarmed Americans were flown to their death. The people have a right to keep and bear arms for the security of a free state. That's in the Constitution and no fair reading of the amendment could conclude anything other than the people have a right to be secure. YET Atlanta airport officials want to arrest people for it.

- cashman57, on 07/02/2008, -0/+12Pretty soon we will get comments from people all up in arms about how a single gunshot can bring down planes and how terrible it will be when the people are asserting their right to be secure and to keep and bear arms.
The truth is, places where more people have legal guns we see less crime because terrorists and punks don't want armed victims to contend with. That is part of the reason OBushma is so popular among criminals, he will disarm their victims. - grunion, on 07/02/2008, -1/+5What business is it of mine what another law abiding citizen has upon their person?
Additionally, how is a passenger who plans to properly check a firearm with his or her baggage (unloaded and in a locked, hard-sided container per FAA regulations) supposed to do so without carrying said firearm to the airport? This is just another example of a city government thinking it can selectively follow state or federal laws. - jesusfish, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4"Franklin said she will lobby Congress to withhold federal funds from facilities that allow firearms on their premises." WTF?
- daytoncub, on 07/03/2008, -0/+2Wouldn't it be a hoot if she got them to pass such a law only to have the court to come down and say that they can not prohibit people from carrying firearms in the terminal, talk about throwing a MAJOR temper tantrum.
Besides the airport is a major money maker and generator of political contribution's for the mayor and her friends. If I was here I wouldn't rock the boat.
