Michael Johns: "In Georgia, America's Defining Moment"
michaeljohnsonfreedomandprospe… — Conservative writer and Republican strategist Michael Johns, a former White House speechwriter and Heritage Foundation foreign policy analyst, said today that Russia's ongoing military aggression against Georgia potentially represents a major threat to the global peace. A decisive American response is warranted.

- jana67, on 08/13/2008, -5/+16Russia is flexing its muscle right now to prove we can't afford to get involved as a bankrupt nation, because America no longer is a super power. We have allowed our Congress and our leaders to squander our resources to a breaking point..... I am disgusted and will be voting in NO Incumbents, (Kick Them All Out.com).

It is all by design. To bring in a New World Order/globalist government there has to be a shift in power and economics. Globalists cannot have a strong self-sufficient economic nation like the U.S. get in the way of their idea of global government, an even more efficient pyramid scheme of control, running things. Also, they are very keen on culling the world's population down to 500 million or less. The provincial rulers do not want to deal with a middle class with any modicum of making the rulers lives troubled. The "Us and Them" that most have been indoctrinated to accept is country vs. country or faction vs. faction BUT in reality it is "us", the serfs, vs. "them", the rulers -- also known as the kingship, kinship, bloodlines, etc. Research the bloodlines of the presidential families and you will be amazed how they are more closely linked to other ruling families around the world than anyone else. This "bloodline" which again includes the rulers of the U.S. are currently in the way to securing key resources as well as getting rid of civil rights so that they can secure this globalist ideal. In the process they are going to kill many many people. I believe that nuclear war is imminent and part of their agenda for culling the numbers. I feel that this may come as early as the beginning of Oct. 2008(more specifically around Oct. 7, 2008). Needless to say, people need to wake up and stand for what is right! The reality is that it is all a game and that Putin and Bush are going by a script -- sorry to say!

- radiofrequency, on 08/14/2008, -1/+8I'm much more afraid of China as a superpower than Russia and the Russians are practically unstoppable anyway because they're resource rich on many more levels than China. Their people are also better educated and as economically desperate as the Chinese.
A better way to deal with Russia's hostility is to use increased trade with it as a carrot and control their policy through economic ties instead of using China. IMHO. Rattling swords with them will do no good because they're too powerful to attack head-on and their strategic position is closer to Europe, who we rely on heavily as well. These reasons may be the purpose for our increased development and trade in China and an attempt to bolster Chinese power to compete with Russians but it's not working. Russia and China seem to be getting along fine even sofaras sharing military exercises. - starstuck, on 08/14/2008, -4/+16Here's to praying that Russia will back down for now but it will only delay the inevitable.

GENERAL PATTON was RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - nastronomical, on 08/14/2008, -8/+20And yet we have a Democratic candidate that seeks to weaken us militarily and economically.
- soulwarriorone, on 08/14/2008, -5/+11All of these things have been "written" long ago within the Word...it is time for all to make their choice of who they will serve...if they make the right choice, there is nothing to fear, for we have not been given a spirit of fear. Yeshua even told us that when we "see" these things, to know that the end is not yet, but be aware and pray you are not found sleeping (I don't mean sleeping in a literal sense, rather state of the heart)...I encourage all to draw near to Him while He can still be found, seek the truth and He will set you free!
- THEROD54, on 08/14/2008, -3/+5So right. This could just be the beginning! OOOHHH BOY take off time.
- delriaan, on 08/14/2008, -1/+5I had two responses to these recent events. The first was as yours. There's no excuse for being truly surprised at these "wars and rumors of wars" (Matthew 24:6).
My second response is borne of my appreciation of seeing how modern day events fulfill prophecy. The thought came to me that Russia saw this as an opportune time to strike, with the U.S. involved in Iraq and Afghanistan. Between the fall of the Soviet Union and the upheaval of their sometimes-friend Iraq, largely at the hands of the U.S., they saw this as the perfect time to regain some lost ground. I won't go into a long discourse of what I suspect, but here's a few things to chew on:
1. Iraq's oil and related revenue was put out of reach (thanks U.S.)
2. Russia never got over the Cold War and thus, the "old Europe" sentiment towards the U.S. was kept.
3. Georgia provides an important fuel resource to the west and is sympathetic to the U.S.
See where I'm going with this? I love a good drama: here, we have an old grudge, lost cash, and a chance to strike a thorn in your side and flex your new muscle. And now, Russia's thrown down the gauntlet in telling the U.S. to choose between Russia and Georgia! **shrugs** who knows ... we'll have to wait for the next development.
If anyone's interested, read Matthew 24:3-28. - BubbaChopper, on 08/18/2008, -1/+3Well said! I wish more believers would read the Bible (for themselves without any kind of agenda, I might add), then they would perhaps begin to understand so much of what is going on in the world today, and not blame everything on "global warming".

- waggdogg, on 08/14/2008, -4/+11Today it's Russia. Tomorrow it will be China taking back Taiwin. Will the next president stop them?
- duckyinc, on 08/18/2008, -1/+1Taiwan consists of Chinese anyway and how is the US going to stop that lol?
- elleigh2, on 08/14/2008, -3/+4I remember a psychic, Jean Dixon, who said Russia and China would join up against the United States......
- KJeffV, on 08/14/2008, -1/+5Then why didn't she CALL ME when she KNEW I wanted answers to these questions?
- bsmeteronhigh2, on 08/14/2008, -10/+9Let me get this straight... Georgia invades a small area that has been pretty much independent for years. In the process they manage to kill quite a few of the citizens who also happen to be Russians. Next the Russians come into the area to stop the killing. Hmmmmmmm. Let that sink in for a moment.
Of course the press forgets to mention the Georgians have been courting the US for quite some time...even to the point of trying to become a NATO nation...which would require quite a bit of lobbying money...which found its way to the McCain camp and they've helped out in IRAQ to what extent? Now the "Emergency Aid" proposed to Georgia by the United States will require the Georgians give up operational control of their harbors to the United States. That shouldn't seem threatening to Russia, now should it? Sort of like the folks in Louisiana giving control of the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico to, oh, say...North Korea.
Considering that we have a war front in Iraq and another in Afghanistan (which the Russians couldn't beat by-the-way) Our economy is on the ropes. So, which of you hawks wants to start another war and be forced to start a draft to fight a war of such dubious underpinnings? And we haven't even gotten into the real reason we're interested (it's spelled OIL). But go for it, if that's what you want. Just remember the Russians were once-upon-a-time in an arms race with us and trust me, they still could destroy your happy block of suburbia or the entire nation with a push of a button. Yes, we could, do the same to them, but honestly, neither neighborhood will be worth inhabiting after the smoke and nuke dust clears. So, how about we ask everyone (especially the neo cons) to cool their jets and think twice before acting once. Consider both the intended and the unintended consequences of actions. Just a thought.- duckyinc, on 08/18/2008, -1/+1Based on your logic we can carpet bomb Russia with nukes today and win!! -.-
- jamessavik, on 08/14/2008, -3/+3Comic relief: A few cartoons regarding the Georgia situation. Have a laugh or two before we haul off and nuke somebody.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b54/jamessavik/f ... - DuggDowner, on 08/14/2008, -13/+9Neocons use the Georgia situation as an excuse to justify their oil grab in Iraq.
- KJeffV, on 08/14/2008, -2/+6Yeah, that's really paying off . . . now that it appears China will be getting that oil. Do you ever READ the news, or do you live solely at Digg?
- Waiting2awake, on 08/14/2008, -2/+2Got to try and pay off those debts somehow....
- KJeffV, on 08/14/2008, -2/+1Aint' THAT the truth! Would that those oil $ pay f/the US debt China's holding.

- Kent4jmj, on 08/14/2008, -5/+7We part ways on this one Michael. Non Intervention. There is no imminent threat to the USA.
- richmomz, on 08/14/2008, -10/+7Buried for Neocon rubbish. Georgia's artillery bombardment of a densely populated residential area killed 1,500 people, including Russian citizens and soldiers, and triggered this whole crisis. As absurd as it sounds, Georgia is the aggressor here (at the encouragement of the U.S., NATO and Israel which supplied hundreds of millions of dollars worth of military funding and training). Russia's response has been neither expansionist nor unreasonable, despite what the western media is saying. Fox News could give some propaganda pointers to Pravda.
- legolas68, on 08/14/2008, -2/+3Where did you get the 1500 figure from? Pravda?
- Kizilbash, on 08/14/2008, -11/+3"Conservative writer and Republican strategist Michael Johns, a former White House speechwriter and Heritage Foundation foreign policy analyst"
Well, if that isn't the very definition of the kind of idiot that got you in the Iraq mess and in this Georgia mess in the first place. Buried. - daltonsbriefs, on 08/15/2008, -1/+10Was fun to see the liberals react so forcefully, so basically the Obama plan is still 1. meet with terrorists 2. be nice to countries invading their neighbors 3. raise gasoline prices to save the trees
What's been nice this month has been the chance to really see the different options, very differentiated between Senators McCain and Obama - duckyinc, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2Hurray it's over now, Russians say they will withdraw tomorrow (or today). Time for all the talk and acting tough now!
