Mexico asks for U.S. money to fight drugs

azcentral.com — He said the program, named the Merida Initiative for the Mexican city in which President Bush and Mexican President Felipe Calderon first proposed the aid last year. The initiative calls for a three-year effort with $1.4 billion in total funding from the United States. Critics are questioning some elements of the proposed aid.
