Metro to hire 20 new cops to fight terrorism

wtop.com — WASHINGTON - Metro will hire 20 new police officers thanks to a $9.5 million federal grant to fight terrorism. The officers will provide a higher visibility of uniformed officers along the transit system. The officers will undergo 10 months of training, plus 10 weeks of field training before they are visible along the subway system.
