Is this what Jesus would do? - absolutelytrue, on 05/26/2009, -0/+20I'd love to know what type of church she was in such a hurry to get to.
- BullHunter, on 01/03/2009, -0/+17Some people are far to selfish to let religion change them for the better
- thatsWEAKSAUCE, on 01/03/2009, -0/+14That is horrible! What a ***** way to celebrate the new year. This Hockaday lady has some serious mental issues if she thinks missing church is worse than leaving a disabled person strapped to his seat for 19 hours.
- txchica, on 01/03/2009, -0/+12Inexcusable, the willful neglect of this woman and the other workers at that transportation company are beyond belief. I hope she is fired and prosecuted to the full extent of the law and I hope the family sues the crap out of the company, treating any special needs person that way is beyond comprehension. I say we strap her into the seat for 19 hours in the exact same conditions and see how she likes it. Stories like this piss me off.
- Fib0112, on 01/03/2009, -0/+11Let me put in my two cents, for what they're worth. I think that we should be focusing more on what she did, rather than on her lame excuse and I'll try to explain my reasoning. People who would do something like that will always come up with something to explain their ***** up behavior. That is inevitable because even though they can't be bothered to do their job properly or to treat other people in a decent manner, they can't just come out and say it so they have to try and hide behind something. She chose the "church" defense because she knew that it would seem the most believable to religious people (who may be on the jury) and who would take it as a mitigating factor. Let's face it, if it wasn't that one, it would have been "I had to feed my cat, American Idol was on, I had to pick somebody from the airport, etc". Don't kid yourselves for a second there, she knew what she was doing and she still chose to do it. Anything else she says is just a cover up for being a horrible person. As an atheist, I'd rather condemn her actions than go for the easy religion shot. I'm pretty certain she couldn't give a damn about what Jesus or anybody else would do so there is no point going there at all.

- spokenkaraoke, on 01/03/2009, -1/+9you know this is going to become a meme from now on...i was late for church.
- inactive, on 01/03/2009, -0/+6Oh, she was late for church. That explains everything. You can`t keep God waiting, no ma`am, that would make you a bad person....
I agree with Fib0112, but just the idea of anyone accepting this excuse for an excuse is repulsive. - martalli, on 01/03/2009, -0/+5I would have put the extra cooling rods in to prevent the meltdown...but I was late for church.
- RockStories, on 01/03/2009, -0/+5I agree, Fib--obviously outrageously unacceptable whatever the excuse, and just an effort to rationalize and justify what can't possibly be justified...but the IRONY, the whole "clearly you MISSED THE WHOLE POINT OF CHURCH" aspect makes it all the more shocking. If she'd said, "I wanted to get to a party before all the good crack was gone", it would have seemed so much more consistent with her decision.
- screamthenrun, on 01/03/2009, -0/+3That's the most BS excuse that anyone could ever possibly come up with. If anything, she should have used her job as an excuse to be late for church. I'm sure that would have been viewed better in the eyes of her fellow church-goers.
- borez, on 01/03/2009, -0/+3I'm gonna go find somewhere to use that right now.
- cabdirazzaq, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2That's what she said.
- WordsnCollision, on 01/03/2009, -2/+3Was it a short bus?
- Falldog, on 01/03/2009, -1/+2Apparently so.

I will pray for both. - AmyVernon, on 01/03/2009, -0/+1The church of sex?
- HardSide, on 01/03/2009, -1/+2What are you, back in 2008? It's over with, the war is over. Time to move on.
