- zweben, on 10/12/2007, -9/+99And I thought Tom Cruise was crazier.
Gibson is back in the lead! - kazem, on 10/12/2007, -6/+72Not sure if I understand what you're saying. Alcohol doesn't TURN you into an ***** and racist. It just brings those...qualities out of you. Hence, truth syrum.
- Comatose51, on 10/12/2007, -20/+85@oceanplexian: Well look at us. At least their war started after their soldiers were kidnapped and they were provoked. We just went over to Iraq and started a war because we felt threatened based on WMDs that don't exist.
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -20/+77I would describe him as "Osama-Like".
I am sure Jews are responsible for all wars. Especially WWII so they could get a homeland given to them because they are a lazy people who do no real work and are only middle-men who raise the prices of everything for working people. Oh, and the millions of Jews they said were "exterminated" is just a big lie to achieve that end. 9/11 wasn't orchestrated by AQ/Osama or the government, it was planned by Jews to push America further on the side of Israel.
Wake up people. If you need any proof that hatred and racism is alive and well today, look no further than the crap load of people who actually believe the claims I outlined above (for the record, it is sarcasm and I don't believe it in the least).
Let me explain a few things that fuel these stereotypes.
First, Jews mostly had service jobs for centuries because they weren't allowed to own land in the nations they lived in because they were Jews. This meant being doctors lawyers and merchants, but not farmers (BTW, most people were farmers for most of humanity's civilized existence). After hundreds of years, it becomes part of your society, and not until the foundation of modern Israel did a significant population of Jews farm.
Second, the stereotype of Jews being lazy is because before we had a concept of the "weekend" people worked 7 days a week. Jews took a "holiday" every week. To their contemporary societies, this seemed extremely lazy. I wonder what they would think of our two and three day weekends and week long vacations!
Third, if you actually believe the Holocaust was faked, what can I even say to you? No amount of reason can circumvent the amount of hate and uneducation that allows you to deny the holocaust.
Fourth, the same thing goes for 9/11 blame. - Roger, on 10/12/2007, -17/+73Guess "The Passion" was anti-semitic after all.
- computerdude33, on 10/12/2007, -4/+56 Kyle: People don't hate the Jews!
Cartman: Really? Three hundred million domestic box-office, Kyle. The top-grossing film of all time, Kyle. Those numbers don't lie. If you're not scared of The Passion then go see it. Go see it and tell me I'm wrong. Mel Gibson, Kyle. Mel Gibson. - MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -14/+60@Comatose51: I just became an American citizen 2 weeks ago (originally from Egypt) and while I'm proud to be an American I hate it when people throw the WMD bs in my face. I couldnt vote at the time, but I was all for Gore and then Kerry (not because I liked him, but it was a matter of ABB, anyone but bush). Please don't judge the US on the current administration. The country was split 50 50 on the vote at the time and now even the conservative southern americans can't stand bush's bs.
That aside, the Israelis started a goddamn war on Lebanon over TWO soldiers and in the process ruined tens of thousands of lives and killed hundreds of people many of which are women and 27 children only recently (god knows how many total).
THATS ***** UP.
Additionally, Mel Gibson is a good director, but should definately keep his mouth closed unless acting. - SnapETom, on 10/12/2007, -24/+70Do we need any more proof that Mel Gibson is one crazy lunatic these days?
- xswag, on 10/12/2007, -12/+57Out of the Heart the Mouth speaks. Mel has obviously got some deep seated resentment towards Jews. We wouldn't have Christianity if it wasn't for our Jewish roots.
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -14/+57Well sorry to say, the beard only makes him look MORE crazy.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -18/+61Well good, now we know who the ignorant inflametory peices of ***** are. /
- Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -6/+47Wow, this is actually quite shocking. So I guess if you're famous you don't get cuffed right away, that's a nice little perk of the justice system.
- DaMacGamer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+44"what are you looking at sugar *****?"
this is my favorite mel gibson line ever. - gypsyjoe, on 10/12/2007, -24/+60Ah, Mel Gibson, the voice of reason.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+33yeah but alcohol doesnt make u say things your dont want to, it lets u let urself say things you normally wont.
- cazual, on 10/12/2007, -16/+43WOW!
- consoneo, on 10/12/2007, -26/+52AKA, Douchebag!
- RATabora, on 10/12/2007, -27/+52Depressing for a Christian as myself to see another Christian making himself look like an idiot. The man making a film about Jesus Christ is spewing curses. I guess that just goes to show what alcohol can do to you.
- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30Every celebrity issues an apology when they do something stupid. Mel probably had some well paid publicist construct that one for him.
- KCorax, on 10/12/2007, -29/+53@Comatose51
Actually Israel has kidnapped half the Palestenian *government* and none's blinking an eye. I really wonder why news like this is dismissed by networks in the US... - devzer0, on 10/12/2007, -10/+34You have cleverly edited out the part where he said "oh, and by the way," and then went on to explain that the Jews were responsible for his drunkenness and had forced him to drive.
- laroetman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26On Saturday, Gibson released the following statement:
"After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said. Also, I take this opportunity to apologize to the deputies involved for my belligerent behavior. They have always been there for me in my community and indeed probably saved me from myself. I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse. I apologize for any behavior unbecoming of me in my inebriated state and have already taken necessary steps to ensure my return to health."
See article: http://www.tmz.com/2006/07/28/gibsons-anti-semitic-tirade-alleged-cover-up/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I've said many stupid things while drunk... None of which weren't true, by the way. Alcohol might be a great tongue lubricant, but the thoughts have to be there in the first place to "accidently" slip out.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24No true Christian is anti-semetic. It would be impossible. Jesus was a Jew. If you hate Jews, you hate Christ.
Fact is, no true Christian hates ANYBODY. - ilikedginger, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Yeah, wouldn't believe everything the LAPD says either.
- djNullSpace, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18I would say that religion has caused all wars... I wouldn't restrict it just to Judaism, not by a long shot.
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23Fewer than the thousands that GWB has. That includes American soldiers in Iraq.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Mel Gibson has been a crazy lunatic for a while. That's what happens when the people around say "yes" to everything you say.
And Tom cruise is not that far behind. - blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14One should also mention that none of the guys who wrote the texts in the bible (about 300+ years after the death of Jesus) considered himself a christian. They were all jews. We are basically all dissident jews.
- sokz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I don't think this was posted with the explicit intention to spread anti-semitic hate...
- ytrabbit, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17The part that was accused of as anti-semitic was the part where one of the Jewish leaders tells Pilate that the blame for Jesus' death was to be on them and their children. That is in one and only one of the gospels and has been used by many Christians over the years as the biblical justification for the persecution of the Jews. Due to public pressure they removed the subtitles of that part of the dialog but left in the actual dialog, not that anyone who doesn't speak Aramaic would know what they were saying.
Personally I liked the Passion, but that doesn't mean that Mel Gibson isn't a jackass. - mojofrojo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19Friend, I pray you are using that sarcasm that all the cool kids are doing right now.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Cops don't cuff people lots and lots of times, despite them being famous. Telling a captive that you were supposed to cuff him and didnt cant bring him around to your side.
They tried this when I got "arrested" for possession.
(Let me go without booking me though, just got a field summons ticket) - Rhine23, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12The first amendment gives him the right to say that...
- bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Brothers - as cliched as it may sound, we ARE brothers.
The only thing that starts wars is people fighting & calling themselves and others names.
We learned that in primary school - what makes people forget?
We've all got far too much to be apologising to each other for to even think about raising a finger in anger. - Koopa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"Osama-like" reminds me of Colbert--he's Lincolnish=)
- dudinatrix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Why is this in World News instead of Celebrity?
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17Does anyone else notice an ever growing resemblance between Mel Gibson and Saddam Hussein?
- AngryBacon, on 10/12/2007, -10/+19@JohnCrichton
If there's one thing I hate, its when people blame the Jews for Christ's death.
Jesus was supposed to die!! In the bible it is clear that it was God's will that he died for our sins!! If he hadn't died, we wouldn't have a religion!
On another note, Mel Gibson sounds like a certain Fuhrer... - TheZetetic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Really? Let's test this conspiracy of yours: "South Park"
- Dimensio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Did you at least rewind the disc?
- cybe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"Myron Fagan - The Illuminati and the Council on Foreign Relations" from the 1960's, and "Benjamin Freedman - A Jewish Defector Warns America" outlines the orchestration of WW I and WWW II by socalled jews well.
http://100777.com/myron
http://100777.com/jewry/freedman - motang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@Rhine23 True.
- bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Hollywood is crazy lunatic making.
It's insular, fake and if film making is in a renaissance, hollywood is "Ken Done".
You have to be quite sheltered from reality to hold *any* extremist views, and in my opinion, hollywood is up there with some of these quran toting towns, bible belt villages, single dominant media states and nationally censored communist countries in creating people who are ignorant of the rest of the world & who hold extremist views. - diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I would give him a break. Unfortunately, the crap we are taught as children seems to hard to fully eliminate, especially during an extremely emotional, drunken outburst. People are complex, conflicted creatures. I would say that at some level he may be anti-Semitic, but is that the way he thinks when sober? I may evaluate what he does in the future based on this event, however it should not completely define Mel Gibson.
I have to correct myself from time to time. Prejudice can sneak up on you and make you think stupid things. When I see a teenage black kid in a beemer, I do not always assume he is the son of a wealthy black doctor. I suppose the car being pimped out doesn't help, but I must keep myself in check. If, I was bombed out of my mind, would I be able to do the most basic error checking? No. - typo180, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11It's understandable, you wouldn't cuff someone you know unless you had to and people generally feel like they know celebrities and therefore (with some exceptions) can trust them a bit more.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It will be interesting to see if this document is a verified copy of the original 8 page report.

- ChileanGoD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Mel Gibson just became Eric Cartman's new hero.
- aHellerax, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9God forbid you be friends with gays! Good choice, doof.
