- oceanplexian, on 10/12/2007, -98/+51Mel Gibson may be a lunatic, but it seems like Jews could get away with murder these days by claiming anti-semitism, and they have (look at Israel right now)
- nevona, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Alright, what the hell.
First of all, don't associate Israel with all Jews. This article is referring to America. Secondly, I would hardly say Jews abuse anti-semitism. It's a serious deal, and it's really not something you should be making light of. I also don't see your reference. Who is abusing anti-semitism, per se?
- nevona, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Alright, what the hell.
- deut, on 10/12/2007, -94/+25Didn't the Jews call for Jesus to be crucified?
- Comatose51, on 10/12/2007, -21/+85@oceanplexian: Well look at us. At least their war started after their soldiers were kidnapped and they were provoked. We just went over to Iraq and started a war because we felt threatened based on WMDs that don't exist.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -31/+2"I'm gettin to old for this *****."
Wrong one. You need to re-rent those movies. - zweben, on 10/12/2007, -10/+99And I thought Tom Cruise was crazier.
Gibson is back in the lead! - goldenbb, on 10/12/2007, -42/+16Never mind that the Israeli soldiers who were "kidnapped" were in Lebanon at the time.
- KCorax, on 10/12/2007, -29/+53@Comatose51
Actually Israel has kidnapped half the Palestenian *government* and none's blinking an eye. I really wonder why news like this is dismissed by networks in the US... - MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -14/+60@Comatose51: I just became an American citizen 2 weeks ago (originally from Egypt) and while I'm proud to be an American I hate it when people throw the WMD bs in my face. I couldnt vote at the time, but I was all for Gore and then Kerry (not because I liked him, but it was a matter of ABB, anyone but bush). Please don't judge the US on the current administration. The country was split 50 50 on the vote at the time and now even the conservative southern americans can't stand bush's bs.
That aside, the Israelis started a goddamn war on Lebanon over TWO soldiers and in the process ruined tens of thousands of lives and killed hundreds of people many of which are women and 27 children only recently (god knows how many total).
THATS ***** UP.
Additionally, Mel Gibson is a good director, but should definately keep his mouth closed unless acting. - zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -11/+8Remember this comment when his movie "Apocalypto" comes out this winter...
- hadees, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5@goldenbb:
That is pure propaganda.
Here is a link to an interview with Mahmoud Komati who is the deputy chief of the Hezbollah's political arm.
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=2236341
In it he admits they started it by attacking an Israeli military area.
"The truth is let me say this clearly we didn't even expect (this) response -- that (Israel) would exploit this operation for this big war against us," said Komati.
He said Hezbollah had expected "the usual, limited response" from Israel after the two soldiers were seized by guerrillas on Israel's side of the border on July 12."
"Komati said Hezbollah captured the Israeli soldiers from a military area, but charged that Israelis had taken Hezbollah leaders from their homes at night." - returnofmalv, on 10/12/2007, -9/+11Yea, I love how Israel is always portrayed as the victim. They have the 4th largest military in the world and a ridiculously powerful lobby in the US. The only way the hatred in the Middle East will end is when Israel begins using its power to help rather than to destroy its neighbors.
- themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise have really gone downhill alot.

- kampfy, on 10/12/2007, -23/+15I figured the d-bags trying to attack the Jews for no reason other than some supposed Zionist conspiracy that always gets brought up at times of strife were the ones responsible for all the wars in the world. Well, all the wars involving Jews. This year might be the very first time that they've started a war...the "wars" that have been started against them haven't really been wars, they've just been massacres by stupid people. Like yourselves. (2damtall excluded, of course)
- JohnCrichton, on 10/12/2007, -46/+6@2damntall
Remember these goddamn Zionists killed Jesus, I mean they are ***** animals that killed one of their own who proclaimed to be a King, now how ***** up is that? They should have just banished him instead of getting him killed.
The Zionists pigs have been in conflicts for thousands of years, will they ever stop beating up on their cousins, the a-rabs, no don't think so. The Zionists like the smell of blood in the morning.
Mel Gibson is right that these Jews are starting the wars.- nevona, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
I think instead of insulting an entire RELIGION of people based on the actions of a few, we should judge people as individuals.
- nevona, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
- bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Brothers - as cliched as it may sound, we ARE brothers.
The only thing that starts wars is people fighting & calling themselves and others names.
We learned that in primary school - what makes people forget?
We've all got far too much to be apologising to each other for to even think about raising a finger in anger. - AngryBacon, on 10/12/2007, -10/+19@JohnCrichton
If there's one thing I hate, its when people blame the Jews for Christ's death.
Jesus was supposed to die!! In the bible it is clear that it was God's will that he died for our sins!! If he hadn't died, we wouldn't have a religion!
On another note, Mel Gibson sounds like a certain Fuhrer... - FlyingLlama, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3amazing, simply stating your opinion in a normal way can get you dugg down...

If the Romans didn't make that all up, you wouldn't have a religion.
- gypsyjoe, on 10/12/2007, -23/+60Ah, Mel Gibson, the voice of reason.
- aresef, on 10/12/2007, -29/+18Especially these days it seems.
- sanman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Anybody remember that South Park episode on Mel Gibson? It was an hilariously funny caricature of him. But after this latest news, it's looking right on the money as well.
- DigDugDigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can't say I disagree with what he says because Israel does destabalize the middle east, but it's still career suicide for him to say what he did. Stating the obvious often gets you labeled as an anti-semite. Before you digg me down, think about how the middle east would be if Israel were somewhere else. Done? Ok digg me down.
- SnapETom, on 10/12/2007, -24/+69Do we need any more proof that Mel Gibson is one crazy lunatic these days?
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -14/+57Well sorry to say, the beard only makes him look MORE crazy.
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -20/+77I would describe him as "Osama-Like".
I am sure Jews are responsible for all wars. Especially WWII so they could get a homeland given to them because they are a lazy people who do no real work and are only middle-men who raise the prices of everything for working people. Oh, and the millions of Jews they said were "exterminated" is just a big lie to achieve that end. 9/11 wasn't orchestrated by AQ/Osama or the government, it was planned by Jews to push America further on the side of Israel.
Wake up people. If you need any proof that hatred and racism is alive and well today, look no further than the crap load of people who actually believe the claims I outlined above (for the record, it is sarcasm and I don't believe it in the least).
Let me explain a few things that fuel these stereotypes.
First, Jews mostly had service jobs for centuries because they weren't allowed to own land in the nations they lived in because they were Jews. This meant being doctors lawyers and merchants, but not farmers (BTW, most people were farmers for most of humanity's civilized existence). After hundreds of years, it becomes part of your society, and not until the foundation of modern Israel did a significant population of Jews farm.
Second, the stereotype of Jews being lazy is because before we had a concept of the "weekend" people worked 7 days a week. Jews took a "holiday" every week. To their contemporary societies, this seemed extremely lazy. I wonder what they would think of our two and three day weekends and week long vacations!
Third, if you actually believe the Holocaust was faked, what can I even say to you? No amount of reason can circumvent the amount of hate and uneducation that allows you to deny the holocaust.
Fourth, the same thing goes for 9/11 blame. - FreeiPodGuy.com, on 10/12/2007, -23/+17Osama-like?
How many people has he ordered murdererd? - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23Fewer than the thousands that GWB has. That includes American soldiers in Iraq.
- steeel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Mel Gibson has been a crazy lunatic for a while. That's what happens when the people around say "yes" to everything you say.
And Tom cruise is not that far behind. - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Hollywood is crazy lunatic making.
It's insular, fake and if film making is in a renaissance, hollywood is "Ken Done".
You have to be quite sheltered from reality to hold *any* extremist views, and in my opinion, hollywood is up there with some of these quran toting towns, bible belt villages, single dominant media states and nationally censored communist countries in creating people who are ignorant of the rest of the world & who hold extremist views. - Koopa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"Osama-like" reminds me of Colbert--he's Lincolnish=)
- NiroZ, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1@lane.montgomery
they couldn't even be doctors, lawyers and merchants, the only thing they could be was bankers. - WiskyDrinker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3He was piss drunk, and had probably been doing blow all night.. He was temporarily insane.. just caught up in what's going on in the world right now
- rhoulihan22, on 10/12/2007, -29/+22the exact reason i didnt see the passion of the christ, because it was jsut a lot of insane violence and ranting for no reason but the fact that hes crazy.
- RATabora, on 10/12/2007, -26/+52Depressing for a Christian as myself to see another Christian making himself look like an idiot. The man making a film about Jesus Christ is spewing curses. I guess that just goes to show what alcohol can do to you.
- xswag, on 10/12/2007, -13/+57Out of the Heart the Mouth speaks. Mel has obviously got some deep seated resentment towards Jews. We wouldn't have Christianity if it wasn't for our Jewish roots.
- kazem, on 10/12/2007, -7/+72Not sure if I understand what you're saying. Alcohol doesn't TURN you into an ***** and racist. It just brings those...qualities out of you. Hence, truth syrum.
- RATabora, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7Yeah that came out wrong...heh...my bad. Meant to come out as Kazem stated.
- jgreene777, on 10/12/2007, -21/+10nobody's perfect.
- typo180, on 10/12/2007, -12/+8Alcohol doesn't do that to you. I came from a fairly sheltered background and can definitely understand how drinking looks from the outside if everyone around you points out the ugly parts, but not everyone who drinks does so irresponsibly or turns into a massive jerk.
- djtansey, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Alcohol didn't make him hate Jews. It just made him tell the truth. I refused to watch Passion of the Christ because he wrote it and I knew his not being a real Christian would show itself in the screenplay. Unfortunately, most Christians won't stand up to public, and popular, Christians like Mel Gibson and tell him he has it all wrong.
- allarise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In Vino Veritas.

That could be true, but it's not for sure... Seriously a lot of people say things, when they are insane drunk, or high.. that they don't truly believe except for in the madness of that binge..
- Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -6/+46Wow, this is actually quite shocking. So I guess if you're famous you don't get cuffed right away, that's a nice little perk of the justice system.
- typo180, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11It's understandable, you wouldn't cuff someone you know unless you had to and people generally feel like they know celebrities and therefore (with some exceptions) can trust them a bit more.
- 2damntall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Cops don't cuff people lots and lots of times, despite them being famous. Telling a captive that you were supposed to cuff him and didnt cant bring him around to your side.
They tried this when I got "arrested" for possession.
(Let me go without booking me though, just got a field summons ticket)
- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -16/+72Guess "The Passion" was anti-semitic after all.
- computerdude33, on 10/12/2007, -4/+56 Kyle: People don't hate the Jews!
Cartman: Really? Three hundred million domestic box-office, Kyle. The top-grossing film of all time, Kyle. Those numbers don't lie. If you're not scared of The Passion then go see it. Go see it and tell me I'm wrong. Mel Gibson, Kyle. Mel Gibson. - vhtrading, on 10/12/2007, -31/+17Not really. Have you even seen The Passion? There's nothing anti-semitic in it at all.
Mel's still an *****, though, if he did say those statements. Alcohol or not, to utter things like that in public is beyond moronic. - groo68, on 10/12/2007, -10/+13Didn't they whip a Jew for no reason and nail him to a cross for claiming divinity?
- ytrabbit, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17The part that was accused of as anti-semitic was the part where one of the Jewish leaders tells Pilate that the blame for Jesus' death was to be on them and their children. That is in one and only one of the gospels and has been used by many Christians over the years as the biblical justification for the persecution of the Jews. Due to public pressure they removed the subtitles of that part of the dialog but left in the actual dialog, not that anyone who doesn't speak Aramaic would know what they were saying.
Personally I liked the Passion, but that doesn't mean that Mel Gibson isn't a jackass. - FreeiPodGuy.com, on 10/12/2007, -13/+10If a person is an anti-Jew, that doesn't make everything he says or does anti-Jew. "The Passion" should be judged based on its content.
- judsond, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Why? There are lots of movies, I'm not going to see the ones that are made by racist hate mongers. That's a valid choice. There are plenty of good movies out that are not created by racists.
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"There are plenty of good movies out that are not created by racists."
Movies not made by racists you say? Intriguing, I'll have to check out that section at the video store.

- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30Every celebrity issues an apology when they do something stupid. Mel probably had some well paid publicist construct that one for him.
- Rhine23, on 10/12/2007, -27/+19The dude was drunk, haven't you said something incredibly stupid while drunk, take for example diggnation they say the funniest ***** when drunk.
- jgreene777, on 10/12/2007, -13/+13one of my college buddies was talking about our RA (a guy) having a nice butt while he was drunk.... we didn't drink with him anymore... you may do and say some dumb stuff while drunk, but that doesn't mean people will treat you the same when it's all over.
- macweirdo42, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I've said many stupid things while drunk... None of which weren't true, by the way. Alcohol might be a great tongue lubricant, but the thoughts have to be there in the first place to "accidently" slip out.

- Bischoff, on 10/12/2007, -65/+11It's the implicit truth!
They are really responsible for today's wars and I salute Bel Gibson for saying that publicly and loudly.
He has been fighting Zionism with many respect and accuracy with the right decent strategy. He has the right to be a dissident and luckily for many around the world, we have something to inspire the same fight.
Gibson is not crazy. It's telling the implicit truth that not even all see or want to see.

"After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said. Also, I take this opportunity to apologize to the deputies involved for my belligerent behavior. They have always been there for me in my community and indeed probably saved me from myself. I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse. I apologize for any behavior unbecoming of me in my inebriated state and have already taken necessary steps to ensure my return to health."

In Digg, as in South Park, Mel Gibson seems to bring out the adorably anti-semitic in all the ignorant masses...
And as for reality, if this site is actually reporting on it, that episode of South Park with Mel Gibson bugging out and Cartman going Hitler seems prophetic, at the least... - syntax312, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8They said something about a sergeant videotaping Gibson, Somebody find us a link =)
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17Does anyone else notice an ever growing resemblance between Mel Gibson and Saddam Hussein?
- Orangize, on 10/12/2007, -8/+11It certainly doesn't help that he made a religious movie in which Jews were blamed for a lot of suffering and then went on a tirade against Jews as soon as he get arrested. The alcohol didn't inject anti-Semitism in Mel Gibson, it merely brought more of it to light (as if that weren't apparent enough as it was).
- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6Yep.

- unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Can Israel tap any phone line and phone call in the U.S.? Yes, not only the NSA can do that.
Several months after 9/11 Fox News did a four part story on Israel spying on Americans through many U.S.-based phone companies in which Mossad can tap it at any time, but the story was spiked without explanation. Is this true? Did Israel know about 9/11 ahead of time? Judge for yourself; here is the long-lost Fox News story...9/11, the Patriot Act, Iraq, Immigration, circumventing of FISA and many other media processes that have been put in motion not andsome not yet disclosed, of course, has made this story completely moot.

Can Israel tap any phone line and phone call in the U.S.?
Several months after 9/11 Fox News did a four part story on Israel spying on Americans through many U.S.-based phone companies in which Mossad can tap it at any time, but the story was spiked without explanation. Is this true? Did Israel know about 9/11 ahead of time? Judge for yourself; here is the long-lost Fox News story

- joshman5k, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13Gibson is to Christianity, what Cruise is to Scientology.
- dargon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Actually, Gibson is a Catholic. He has described himself as "an old-fashioned Catholic", but he nolonger believes in the Vatican. http://www.religioustolerance.org/chrgibson1.htm
- eiczko, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Gibson's version of Catholicism is not Catholic. He is cultish- that "old Catholicism" is a version based strictly in antisemitism. He by no means represents the whole and probably should not really be considered Christian due to his hate filled bastardized version of religion. Satanists do a catholic mass too. Are they considered catholic as well? The association should embarrass most reasonable people.
- nukehezbollah, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1oh mel.. lol
- Dotnetsky, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4You can't get Gibson to change any deep - seated private views he may have (that might spew forth under the influence). His real problem is that he has simply become too famous and too rich, and he hasn't learned to handle it like a gentleman.

- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14One should also mention that none of the guys who wrote the texts in the bible (about 300+ years after the death of Jesus) considered himself a christian. They were all jews. We are basically all dissident jews.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9So your saying Mary wasn't Jewish?
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4"about 300+ years after the death of Jesus"
Umm, no. Paul wrote most of the New Testament. He was a contemporary of Jesus, being beheaded in 65AD.
John (an Apostle of Jesus) wrote the Gospel of John, and probably the Apostle Matthew wrote the Gospel of Matthew. - rogermoore, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2"We are basically all dissident jews."
We? Um... where are we all, then? oh, that's right... Umurika...
It's safe to assume that the Gospels were written down sometime after Jesus died, much the same as most buddhist literature was written down some time after Buddha died. I don't see Paul as a reliable "apostle" of Jesus, given that he spent most of his life living with the Romans, you know, bringing the system down "from the inside". Paul is the guy that suggest it's a bad idea for women's voices to be heard in church. Jesus had no problem with women in church, or anywhere else. Paul was a megalomaniac who sent epistles left, right and centre and... zzzzz.... zzzzzzzzzz..........
You are right, though: Jesus was a Jew. He was also something else, but it took a while for it to be given a name. Whatever it was when it had no name %u2013 that's what it's all about... zzzz... zzzzzzzzz.............
So, check out the "Q" sayings. Also called "Quelle" sayings. - j10s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Rogermoore,
You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Have you ever read any of Paul's letters?
Paul was originally named Saul and persecuted Christians. One day while walking to Damascus, he was blinded by a light as Jesus asked him why he was persecuting him. Once Saul was healed, he immediately turned his life around and changed his name. His life revolved around missionary journeys while writing letters to Corinth, Rome, and so on. I would like to see one exert from one of Paul's letters that suggests sexism or anything that Jesus Christ would not be proud of. - OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1[quote]One should also mention that none of the guys who wrote the texts in the bible (about 300+ years after the death of Jesus) considered himself a christian. They were Roman "House Jews." They wrote the New Testament to create a religion that would encompass all the religions of Rome. It was meant to placate the Romans, the barbarians, the Christian cult (not the same as state-sanctioned Roman Christianity!), and the Jews themselves.
Dissidents? They were the same types of people who work in Hollywood today :P
All Abrahamic religions have been co-opted to become tools of oppression by the state. They lost their meaning the day Rome perverted Judeo-Christianity into to something it was never meant to be. It was never meant to justify nationalism and war!

it's funny how we use religion to express strong feelings...in replying to the quote from Mel, I didn't want to use any religious references to avoid puns...dammit was it hard to do...

- diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I would give him a break. Unfortunately, the crap we are taught as children seems to hard to fully eliminate, especially during an extremely emotional, drunken outburst. People are complex, conflicted creatures. I would say that at some level he may be anti-Semitic, but is that the way he thinks when sober? I may evaluate what he does in the future based on this event, however it should not completely define Mel Gibson.
I have to correct myself from time to time. Prejudice can sneak up on you and make you think stupid things. When I see a teenage black kid in a beemer, I do not always assume he is the son of a wealthy black doctor. I suppose the car being pimped out doesn't help, but I must keep myself in check. If, I was bombed out of my mind, would I be able to do the most basic error checking? No.- easycheez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Amen.
- SwordofKahless, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If true that he made those comments this was very disappointing to hear and I hope that it is just the fact that he was drunk off his ass which makes people say all kinds of crazy things. It does not make much sense considering his drunken statements go against his Christian-Catholic beliefs.
This is really bad since the debate had been you cannot hold the son accountable for the anti-semetic comments made by his father. The movie was irrelevant since it was just portraying history. But now these drunken comments if true will throw weight behind the groups that wish to blanket everything he has done as anti-semetic whether he is or not. - sam5271, on 10/12/2007, -11/+7Come on People would you like to see what these Zionist State Terrorism is doing to Women and Children.... are you reading the news...

- star, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Article dugg down for being incredibly propagandistic.
Mel Gibson is known for not goose-stepping after the the Bush administration propaganda.
That and the fact that the Big Money running Hollywood does not have control over (i.e. can't blackmail) him is why this propaganda machine now has started against him.
This will be very interesting to follow...- culbeda, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1While I question the accuracy of the article, I'm even more skeptical of your ridiculous inference that the "Big Money running Hollywood" is responsible for this.
If "they" were, it wouldn't be on some obscure website like this one and it would all sound a great deal more plausible. It's far more likely to be desperate attempt to drive traffic by being controversial. (aka traffic trolling)
And if these notes are legit and this guy got his hands on them, I'm sure TSG will have them at some point. This would be front page news all over the net if proven to be true. - EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The article is true. He's acknowledged it. So digging a story down just because you don't like the political implications makes you a jackass.
