- Iconoclast25, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3What loophole or legal action could that possibly be? A holster and two magazines. He could buy the same thing, entirely legally, through any dealer in person or on line. This dealer not only complied with all the laws, he went out of his way to contact the Feds. If it were not for the VT connection, no one would be paying any attention to these items.
BURIED for making a mountain out of molehill - typical liberal hysteria.

- ThirstyJon, on 02/16/2008, -1/+3Hello dcmusicfusion!
I will be nice to you since you are one of my digg friends. :-)
I am curious though, if you actually read the article. The reason is this: I got the distinct session that the gun dealer went public and immediately contacted authorities in order to be helpful and responsible. The dealer owns more than one website and it is a coincidence that both shooters may have purchased equipment through the sites.
I was impressed with the guy.
Not only that, but everything coming out about the NIU shooter is that nobody knew he was a risk. He was a top-notch respected student who seemed stable and reliable.
Just some stuff to think about.
:-)

http://freedomthirst.com - vault, on 02/16/2008, -0/+5It's a little unfair to blame this guy, and he has been cooperative with police. If I buy a chainsaw at Home Depot and then go on a spree killing rampage, is it Home Depot's fault for selling me a chainsaw?
What happened at NIU and VT is obviously a tragedy, and I can't believe this guy doesn't feel terrible about what happened. In his own words, “I still feel just absolutely in shock,” he said. “I feel like I was run over by a truck.” - Kent4jmj, on 02/16/2008, -0/+5As long as he sold the gun legally there is no reason to blame him. The debate is one of trying to disarm the entire country and every citizen which is wrong. Our second amendment is there for a reason so that American citizens may own and posses weapons. And the militia in the Constituition is just that, regular every day citizens. Revisionist liars may try to have you believe differently but even a regular person can understand that the militia in that time was made up of individual citizens who were not part of the "state militia" until called up. Which means they not only had guns but were reinforced to that right by the constitution.
- thenativeraver, on 02/16/2008, -2/+1Buried as lame.
- MACpistolDOTcom, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2The BATFE has declared war on your right to bear and purchase arms by shutting down 80% of gun dealers in a decade, mostly by intimidation, fees, and MINOR PAPERWORK ERRORS. So no surprise, two campus shooters purchased stuff from the same dealer. Big fuc*ing deal. The media will look for any reason to tie guns and gun dealers to murderers.

http://redstradingpost.blogspot.com/ - neiltc13, on 02/17/2008, -2/+1People get shot in a country where you can buy guns from a ***** shop. Maybe you should look at closing the loophole in the law that allows regular joes to have guns.
- Egoist, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2What you call a "loophole," we call our freedom.
- caponumen, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Kinda like blaming GM for selling the Cadillac to that old fart that ran over and killed all those people a while back.
