BP Capital's, T Boone Pickens, discusses the potential for oil extraction capacity to have reached it's zenith. Both Simmons and Pickens mention the possibility of unavailable oil or shortage based on increasing demand and supply limits. http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=233014740&play=1

- budsmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't help but think the USA will be hit harder than most of the world when this doo-doo finally hits the fan. Where I live in Central America, most of the population is used to doing without cars and electricity, they use public transportation and generally have available to them local food sources as well. Economic and social disruptions will begin in the USA and spread around the world when we run out of cheap energy, and the USA will then become the new Third World. The sad thing is, it's apparently too late to do anything about it, we've waited too long. Ethanol, aka "putting food in our gas tank to burn" is only going to make the problem worse. Thanks to The Oil Drum for trying to get this message out to the uninformed.
